Off Meta Fun Last Week & Match vs Autumn Burchett

Hi Planeswalkers!

I wanted to share some pretty cool decks I have been playing over the last few days/weekend that are both competitive and fun really alt/off meta decks. Additionally, for funsies I hit playing Autumn Burchett in competitive historic queue and am always one to check out these kinds of decks and matches. You can check out the four decks below: Azorius Control by CGB, Boros Transmogrify, Naya Landfall, and Mono Blue Flash all Platinum to Mythic 6+ win decks. Autumn plays an Indomitable Will deck vs my Witch Yasharn deck. Great match to for sure – and a fun way to start out 2021.

Match vs. Autumn Burchett

Historic Match vs Autumn Burchett

I was very happy to end up in a match against Burchett. Super fun, and timing wise they were streaming at the same time! haha – all said and done, I made the MQ and was practicing my historic matchmaking. Enjoy!

Azorius Control

CGB Top 10 Azorius Control

This deck CGB pulled together absolutely kicks butt and is a ton of fun. I did change up the SB a bit for the BO3 matches and have had good success with it. As always – play to what you enjoy I always say. One thing that is pretty funny about this deck at least it seems is this thing feels like it has 20 shatters vs just 4. However, probably just my draw luck…It does though have enough ways for you to get there for sure. I am a huge fan of the Top end Trawler always! Last a nice congrats to CGB on hitting the 100k sub mark! Well earned.

Boros Transmogrify

Sneak in an Archon!

Probably one of the most fun decks to pilot that your opponents will not see coming. This deck is a great sneaky way and well optimized to pull forward large closing creatures with both Transmogrify and Lukka. I really liked the opportunity to play the big old 6 drop archon as well! I really like merriment in the deck and think it could actually use more of them!

Naya Landfall

Boom Boom Boom soo many Landfall triggers!

This deck has the ability to go both deep and wide. One thing is you probably will under estimate all the crazy trigger combos in this deck initially. It takes a bit to pilot, and there are a ton of ways to close out a match. Additionally, it is very competitive and you could optimize some of the landfall triggering and top end of the deck. I will say that it was easier then I expected to get to the big drops and maintain them on the board as well.

Mono Blue Flash

As close as it gets to Mono Blue Tempo in Standard

This deck is as close as they come to a mono blue tempo deck in standard. Only thing it really lacks is the 1/2 drops a bit more in my opinion. This deck is very consistent and does have great answers when you draw them 🙂 It takes patience to play, and follows a nice pass go strat. Once you lock your opponent in though, you are well set. There are ways to recover with the deck as well with things like Sublime Epiphany. Many interactions to note!
