Selesnya Yorion MTGA CFB Pro Showdown #1

First for those of you that aren’t aware I highly recommend checking out the CFB Pro Showdown for Oct. I will talk at a high level of some of the results and why I think Meta is potentially still wide open following the tournament. This also represents a very healthy Standard! Second, the deck list for Selesnya Yorion that finished #1 piloted by Ondrej Strazky is down below along with overviews, and sideboard guide.

Selesnya Yorion Deck Thoughts

  1. This is one of the smoothest decks I felt I have played post meta
  2. The deck’s synergies really seem to build and continuously stack in a meaningful way to consistently provide answers
  3. The deck feels like a mashed together Yorion Blink & Mono Green Wicked Wolf deck maximizing the best of both!
  4. One suggestion I would have is adding Hushbringer in the sideboard for the re-rise of Yorion decks and other meta solvers

Meta Evolving

  1. The majority of the event showcased a combined Rakdos Midrange & Golgari Adventures Heavy Bet (20%+) Mind you no where near the same as Omnaths eventes
  2. The heavy betting was a fail – Rakdos & Golgari sadly failed to achieve a higher then 45% win rate for either deck
  3. I believe this is a good sign as we have seen popular decks rise and fall, this turnover is quickly showing us a fast paced moving meta – Both of these decks had been very well positioned pre/post Omnath Bans – only to find themselves now on the losing end of the stick

I would love to hear your thoughts about both the tournament and deck below! Looking forward to your comments and pov on the meta temp!
