EA FC 27 Editions, Platforms and What Early Access Was
EA SPORTS FC 27 is out. Here is what EA says each edition contained, which platforms it ships on, what the free Lite version is, and which pre-order and early access offers have already closed.
The early-access window, the Ultimate Plus edition and the pre-order bonuses for EA SPORTS FC 27 are all over as of November 8, 2026. The game launched globally on 25 September 2026, and a page that still talks about "pre-ordering by 31 August" is describing a deal that has ended. This guide sorts out what EA's own pages say each edition contained, where the game runs, and what is still relevant today.
Everything here comes from EA's FC 27 pages. EA's editions page lists no prices in any currency, so this guide gives none; check your platform's store for what you will actually pay.
The short answer
- Release date: EA's editions page says FC 27 launched globally on 25 September 2026.
- Early access: Ultimate and Ultimate Plus came with up to 7 days of early access, starting 18 September 2026. That window has closed.
- Editions: three paid editions (Standard, Ultimate, Ultimate Plus), plus a free FC 27 Lite.
- Ultimate Plus was sold only in an early-bird pre-order window, 23 July to 31 August 2026.
What each edition included
This is EA's editions page, condensed. EA lists Career and The Grounds extras for all three editions; the difference is the size of the extras and the early access.

Two details are easy to miss. First, the FC Points are paid out in monthly drops, and EA sets a deadline for the initial distribution: 1 August 2027 for Ultimate and 1 June 2027 for Ultimate Plus. Second, "Not listed" in the table means the item does not appear in EA's list for that edition; it is not a statement that the edition lacks it in some form EA did not publish.
Platforms and the free Lite version
EA's editions page lists these platforms:
- Standard and Ultimate: EA app, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, Steam and Epic Games Store.
- Ultimate Plus: not available on Nintendo platforms or the Epic Games Store, and only sold during the early-bird window.
- The Grounds (including Clubs): limited to PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC and Nintendo Switch 2.
- FC 26 bonuses: the extra items tied to EA SPORTS FC 26 (sold separately) are not available on Nintendo Switch or Switch 2.
FC 27 Lite is a free version that EA says launched on the same day, 25 September, at 16:00 UTC. EA lists it for PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, the EA app, Steam and Epic Games Store, with no Nintendo platforms. EA's editions page calls it a free preview where players can explore select game modes, such as Kick-Off, with the option to upgrade at any time; it does not list the full set of modes.
Offers that have already closed
Using EA's dates against today's date of November 8, 2026:

EA's page ties the pre-order bonuses to pre-ordering, and the pre-order windows ended on 24 September. I could not find an EA statement on whether any of those bonuses can still be claimed after launch, so treat that as unconfirmed rather than assuming either way.
The modes, as EA describes them
I am keeping this to what EA's FC 27 page says in its own words, with no verdicts on how any of it plays.
- Football Ultimate Team: EA's line is "Immortalise your dream club in Football Ultimate Team with the brand-new FUT Gallery." The page also mentions growing your Gallery Level and developing young talent in the Future Stars Academy.
- Career Mode: EA's page says "Sign your next star in Manager Career" and describes a rebuilt Transfer Market with realistic player values and active club bidding. It also mentions performance and buy-back clauses in negotiations.
- The Grounds: EA describes "a social football playground where the streets meet the stadium," with Kickabouts, 1v1s and teaming up in Clubs. As noted above, it is limited to PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC and Switch 2.
What I could not confirm
- Prices. EA's editions page lists none, so I have not published a figure.
- Nintendo Switch vs Switch 2. EA's editions page lists both Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 for Standard and Ultimate, but the store list on the main FC 27 page names only the Nintendo Switch 2 Store. Check the eShop for your console before buying.
- Exactly which modes Lite contains. EA names Kick-Off as one example of "select game modes" and gives no full list.
- Post-launch changes. EA's FC 27 page lists news items about title updates and a Grounds launch update. I did not read them for this guide, so it covers launch-state facts only.
