Phantom Blade Zero: Release, Editions, PC Specs
Phantom Blade Zero launched on October 28, 2026 (Pacific time) for PC and PS5. Here are the platforms, the two editions and their prices, the official PC requirements and what the developer says the game is.

Phantom Blade Zero is no longer a wishlist item. S-GAME's own announcement put launch at 7:00 PM PDT on October 28, 2026, and by November 8 the game has already had a post-launch patch. This guide covers the buying and setup questions only: when it came out, where, which edition, and what your PC needs. Everything below is traced to the Steam store page, S-GAME's official site, the PlayStation Store listing and S-GAME's Steam announcements. I have deliberately left out story, boss and build material, because that needs play time and sources I do not have yet.
The short answer
Phantom Blade Zero is a single-player action RPG from S-GAME Studio, published by S-GAME Publishing. It launched on October 28, 2026 (Pacific time) on PC through Steam and the Epic Games Store and on PS5. The Standard Edition is $59.99 on Steam and the PlayStation Store, and the Digital Deluxe Edition is $69.99 on Steam. The PC build lists a 145 GB install and requires an SSD.
Release date, and the Oct 28 vs Oct 29 question
You will see both dates, and both are right. The Steam store page lists October 28, 2026. S-GAME's official site shows 10/29/2026, and the PlayStation Store listing carries a release timestamp of 2026-10-29T02:00:00Z. Those are the same moment: S-GAME's Steam announcement, "Ready your blade!", says pre-load began October 26, 2026 at 7:00 PM PDT and that "your journey begins October 28, 2026, at 7:00 PM PDT." 7:00 PM PDT is 02:00 UTC the next day, which is why some regions and outlets print the 29th.
The date moved once before that. The December 12, 2025 launch-date announcement set September 9, 2026. On June 3, 2026 (UTC), S-GAME's Soulframe (signing as S-GAME CEO / Creator of Phantom Blade Zero) posted a letter moving launch to October 29, 2026, which he described as a 50-day delay, citing upgraded character models and reworked environments. The game has now launched, so there is no countdown left to track.

Platforms
- PC (Steam): Windows only. The Steam listing shows Windows as supported and Mac and Linux as not supported.
- PC (Epic Games Store): S-GAME's official site links to an Epic Games Store page alongside Steam. I could not load the Epic page itself, so I am not quoting an Epic price or edition list.
- PS5: The PlayStation Store lists PS5 as the only platform for both the Standard and Digital Deluxe editions.
The official site links only Steam, Epic Games Store and the PlayStation Store. I did not find an Xbox or Nintendo listing on any of those pages. That is an absence in what I checked, not a statement from S-GAME about future platforms.
Editions and prices
There are two editions, plus a Deluxe upgrade pack on Steam. Prices are US dollar prices read from the store pages on November 8, 2026, and regional prices will differ.
| Edition | Steam (USD) | What S-GAME lists |
|---|---|---|
| Standard | $59.99 | The full game |
| Digital Deluxe | $69.99 | Full game plus two Deluxe outfits (Wulin Legend, Blood-Steel Form), a digital artbook and a digital soundtrack |
| Deluxe Edition Upgrade (DLC) | $10.00 | For owners of the Digital Standard Edition: the same four Deluxe items. It does not include the base game |
Steam's own text for the upgrade warns against duplicate purchases, since everything in it is already in the Digital Deluxe Edition. At current Steam prices, Standard plus the $10.00 upgrade comes to the same $69.99 as buying Digital Deluxe outright.
S-GAME's official site also lists an early-unlock accessory, Treasure Basin, and an early-unlock outfit, Legacy, tagged as pre-order bonuses on both editions, and says that this content can also be obtained through in-game progression. On the PlayStation Store the Standard Edition is $59.99 and the Digital Deluxe Edition is $69.99, matching Steam. The table above is Steam-only.

PC system requirements
These are the specs on the Steam store page. Both tiers need a 64-bit Windows 10 or 11, 16 GB of RAM, DirectX 12 and 145 GB of free space on an SSD.
| Minimum | Recommended | |
|---|---|---|
| Processor | Intel Core i7-8700K / AMD Ryzen 5 3600 | Intel Core i5-10600K / AMD Ryzen 5 5600X |
| Graphics | NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 6GB / AMD Radeon RX 5500 XT 8GB | NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Ti 8GB / AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT 12GB |
| Memory | 16 GB RAM | 16 GB RAM |
| Storage | 145 GB, SSD required | 145 GB, SSD required |
| Target listed by S-GAME | 1080p / 30 FPS with upscaling enabled | 1440p / 60 FPS with upscaling enabled |
Two practical numbers from the pre-load notice: the install is approximately 145 GB, and S-GAME asked pre-loaders to reserve at least 300 GB of free space for the pre-load process itself. Note that the listed targets assume upscaling is on.
In the launch letter posted October 28, S-GAME said it had tested the game on mid-range and lower-end PCs as well as handhelds, and encouraged players to try it. That is a developer statement, not a compatibility certification, and the Steam page's requirements above are the only official minimum.
One driver note from that same letter is dated and may already be out of date: S-GAME reported performance instability with NVIDIA's 621.01 driver, said 617.42 gave the best experience in its testing, and expected NVIDIA's next driver to arrive soon. Check S-GAME's official support page for anything newer before rolling a driver back.
What the developer says the game is
S-GAME's Steam short description calls it a wuxia-inspired action RPG built on Unreal Engine 5. The setup it gives: you play Soul, a warrior framed for murdering his master who suffers a wound to the heart and has sixty-six days left to live. The description also names the following, in the developer's own words rather than anything I have tested:
- more than 30 primary weapons and more than 20 unique Phantom Edges;
- combat built around dodging, deflecting, countering and striking;
- an aesthetic S-GAME calls "kungfupunk";
- motion capture with martial-arts choreographers, and Donnie Yen, whom S-GAME's August 13 announcement names as creative consultant since 2023 and as the performer for the character Mó Yuan.
Steam also tags it single-player, lists adjustable difficulty, full controller support, DualShock and DualSense support, Steam Achievements, Steam Cloud and Family Sharing. Text is offered in 15 languages, with full audio in English and Simplified Chinese. In the launch letter, S-GAME says PS5 has three button layouts, PC has more flexible remapping, and the game handles 16:9, 16:10 and ultrawide aspect ratios beyond 3:1.

The first patch: version 1.0302256
S-GAME posted patch notes on November 4, 2026. The listed changes:
- New options: Hit Sound Intensity and Hit Impact Sound Intensity in audio settings, and on PC, remapping of Interact / Talk for keyboard and controller.
- Performance (PC): a changed shader compilation process that significantly reduces startup times. Ray tracing shaders are no longer compiled at startup by default. Players who previously had ray tracing off need to recompile shaders on first launch after the patch, a one-time process. If you turn ray tracing on, its shaders compile separately on the next restart.
- Other PC fixes: reduced stuttering with Bluetooth controllers, NVIDIA Reflex now working on Auto with V-Sync on, and a fix for incorrect hair rendering on certain AMD cards with specific driver versions.
- Combat tuning: adjusted behavior of certain bosses and enemies, and reduced frequency of grab attacks by Hua, Deadly Betrothed on the Wayfarer and Pathbreaker difficulties. Other difficulty settings are unaffected.
- Warnings from S-GAME: some third-party mods are not compatible with the update, and if you see crashes or stuttering, S-GAME says to clear the shader cache folder (PBZ\ProjectPBZ\Saved\Cache under the game's local files) and relaunch.
A day-one patch of roughly 5 GB, covering ray tracing and path tracing performance and bug fixes, was announced in the October 28 letter. Pre-loaders were told to install it before launching.
What I did not cover
- Story, bosses, builds and combat depth. The only gameplay claims here are the developer's own, attributed as such. This guide is not a review.
- The Epic Games Store price and editions. I could not load the Epic page.
- Steam Deck status. The Steam listing data I read gave no Steam Deck verdict, so I make no claim about it.
- Post-launch roadmap. I found no official announcement of DLC or future platforms beyond the Deluxe upgrade pack above.
Everything lives on the Phantom Blade Zero hub as more guides are added. Prices and patch numbers change, so treat the dates above as a snapshot of November 8, 2026.
