Saros Editions, Price and PS5 Pro: Which to Buy

Saros has a $69.99 Standard Edition and a Digital Deluxe that is currently cheaper, plus a PS5 Pro mode with a 60 fps claim from the developer. Here is what each edition contains and what has already expired.

Right now, on PlayStation.com's own Saros page, the Digital Deluxe Edition costs $10 less than the Standard Edition. That is not a typo in this post, it is a sale, and it is the single most useful fact for anyone still deciding which version to buy. Everything below comes from PlayStation.com and two PlayStation.Blog posts by Housemarque's creative director, and anything I could not trace to those is called out in the last section.

This guide is about the buying decision: editions, price, the PS5 Pro facts and which launch offers are gone. For how the game itself plays, see the Saros beginner guide, which this post does not repeat.

The short answer

If you are buying digitally and the sale is still running when you read this, the Digital Deluxe Edition is the cheaper ticket and the one with more in it. If the sale has ended, the Standard Edition is the same game for less, and the extra is three Enforcer suits. The Deluxe contents list on PlayStation.com names only those suits and nothing gameplay-related.

What each edition contains

PlayStation.com lists two editions plus an upgrade add-on.

Listed price (Nov 8, 2026)$69.99$59.99, discounted from $79.99

The Deluxe extras are three Enforcer suits for the protagonist, Arjun Devraj. PlayStation.com describes them as inspired by Returnal, Ghost of Yotei and God of War. Housemarque's December 11, 2025 PlayStation.Blog post calls them "PlayStation Studios celebration suits" and says they feature Returnal, God of War and Ghost of Yotei inspired designs. Neither source says the suits change stats or abilities; they are described only as suits. If you see a claim that they do, ask for the source.

There is also a separate Digital Deluxe Edition Upgrade add-on, listed at $10.00. The April 16 PlayStation.Blog post says the Digital Deluxe upgrade can be purchased separately by people who bought the physical edition.

The price math as of November 8

Here is why Deluxe is the better digital deal at the moment. PlayStation.com lists the Standard Edition at $69.99 and the Deluxe Edition at $59.99, a 25% discount from $79.99. The page says the offer ends 11/21/2026 at 07:59 AM UTC. It also says the Deluxe was $79.99 on its release date and for at least 30 days afterward, with a lowest price in the last 30 days of $79.99.

The arithmetic is simple. Standard at $69.99 plus the $10.00 upgrade add-on is $79.99, which matches the Deluxe launch price. So during the sale you pay $20 less for Deluxe than for Standard plus the upgrade, and $10 less than Standard alone. I did not verify at checkout whether the upgrade add-on can be bought on a digital Standard purchase, so treat that path as unconfirmed.

Prices and sale windows move. Check the PlayStation Store before buying. I read this page on November 8, 2026, which is before the listed end date.

Offers that have already expired

Two launch incentives were announced on PlayStation.Blog. Both were tied to the pre-launch window, so for anyone buying today they are history.

  • 48-hour early access with Digital Deluxe. The December 11, 2025 post says "you will be able to play Saros 48 hours before launch with our Digital Deluxe Edition," and the April 16, 2026 post repeats it against an April 30, 2026 launch. The blog posts do not state an exact early-access start date, so I am not asserting one. In any case, launch has passed, so the head start no longer matters.
  • The pre-order bonus. Both posts say that players who pre-order Saros or Saros Digital Deluxe before launch can unlock the Hands of Shore Armour. The current PlayStation.com page does not mention it. If you did not pre-order, I could not find a primary source saying how, or whether, you can still get it.

The December 11 post also named a "Pre-Order Edition" alongside the Deluxe. It is not listed as a separate edition on the current page.

PS5 Pro and the 60 fps claim

PlayStation.com lists Saros as PS5 Pro Enhanced. The April 16, 2026 PlayStation.Blog post is the primary source for what that means, and it is Housemarque's own description, not independent measurement:

  • The PS5 Pro version uses the updated PSSR upscaler that was released in March. The post says you "can barely tell it apart from native 4K."
  • Technical director Seppo Halonen says the base render resolution (the resolution before upscaling) is higher on PS5 Pro, and that "PS5 Pro always delivers a sharper image in a scene-to-scene comparison."
  • The standard PS5 version "runs at rock solid 60fps," in his words. The post says the Pro version gives a higher-resolution image at 60 fps.
  • Dynamic resolution is used on both to hold the frame rate during hectic combat.
  • The only 30 fps section is key story cinematics, which are rendered at peak resolution.

The practical read: you do not need a PS5 Pro to get the 60 fps experience. Per the developer, the Pro buys a sharper image at the same frame-rate target. The post, as I read it, describes no separate performance mode and no HDR or ray-tracing details, so I am not claiming any.

The same post also covers features every PS5 owner gets: an evolved 3D audio mix using Tempest 3D AudioTech (with 3D-audio headphones or a 3D audio setup), adaptive trigger use on L2 (half pull for the main weapon's alt fire, full pull for the Power Weapon) and what it calls near-instant loading from the SSD.

Platforms: PC, PS4 and streaming

PlayStation.com lists a single platform, PS5, and states the game as 1 player with offline play enabled. The December 2025 post described it as "coming to PlayStation 5 and enhanced for PlayStation 5 Pro." Neither source lists PC or PS4, and I found no Sony or Housemarque announcement of a PC version. That is an absence of an announcement, not a promise either way.

Two other platform facts from the page:

  • Remote Play is supported.
  • PS5 and PS Portal cloud streaming is supported only with a PlayStation Plus Premium subscription. The same subscription gives a 2.5-hour full game trial.

What I could not confirm

  • The exact date Deluxe early access started; the blog posts only say 48 hours before the April 30 launch.
  • Whether the Hands of Shore Armour can still be obtained after launch.
  • How the $10 upgrade add-on behaves at checkout for digital Standard owners.
  • Prices outside the US store. Everything here is the PlayStation.com en-us page.
  • Physical edition pricing. The April post mentions a physical edition, but gives no price.

If you have bought it and any of these differ from what you see in the store, the store wins.
