Best F2P Arena Team (June 2026) — A Diamond-Tier Comp Without a Single Legendary Pull

The meta arena comp needs three Legendaries you do not own. This one needs zero, loses about two ranks of ceiling, and costs you exactly nothing in crystals.

The current meta arena comp wants three Legendaries you almost certainly do not own. Sugar Swan. Timekeeper. Dark Enchantress. Each one is a roughly 0.027% pull, and Devsisters has been very polite about not lowering those rates.

So here is a different deal. Five cookies, all reasonably obtainable in two to four months of F2P play as of May 2026, that hold Diamond consistently and brush Champion on a good week. You give up roughly two ranks of ceiling compared to the full-Legendary meta comp. In exchange, you spend zero crystals, zero soulstone shards beyond what the game hands you, and zero hours waiting on banner rotations.

If you are sitting at Platinum or low Diamond and stalling because every guide tells you to roll Timekeeper, this is the team that gets you unstuck this week.

Nothing on that list requires a single gacha pull. Hollyberry and Pure Vanilla are guaranteed through World Exploration. Black Sapphire's Bell of Glory shop refreshes monthly and is generous if you do not skip dailies. Pavlova was free for the entire Garden of Sweet Delights window and her soulstones are still in rotation through three different event shops. Ash Salt has been deliberately cheap since release, because Devsisters wanted F2P players to have a real anti-revive option that did not require Timekeeper.

The whole point of this comp is that nothing in it is gated behind RNG. You will get all five cookies. The question is only how fast you finish their soulstones.

Why this comp works at Diamond

There are three jobs that win arena matches in 2026, and this team handles all three.

Damage that scales without Legendary multipliers. Pavlova hits like a properly-built Epic should, which is to say she hits roughly 78% as hard as Dark Enchantress with full toppings. That is not a small gap, but it is enough to one-shot any squishy backline that is not running a Legendary healer. Most F2P opponents are not.

Revive denial. Pure Vanilla, Cream Unicorn, and Black Sapphire revives are everywhere at this rank, and you lose every match where the enemy gets a second life. Ash Salt's debuff strips revive buffs on application, which is exactly the job Timekeeper does at Legendary tier. She does it for roughly 60% of the value, which is fine because most opponents are also not running max-investment heals.

A frontline that does not fold in 7 seconds. Hollyberry into Pure Vanilla is one of the oldest combos in the game and it is old because it works. Hollyberry's debuff resistance plus Pure Vanilla's heal-and-shield rotation gives Pavlova and Ash Salt the four extra seconds they need to land their skills. Without that, your DPS pop their skills into a wipe and you lose.

Black Sapphire is the secret sauce. Her defense shred lets Pavlova's burst overshoot what your stats suggest, which is the only reason you can fight teams ten thousand power above you and still win.

Per-slot deep dive

Build her as a tank, not a bruiser. You want her to soak, not punch. Aim for her Awakened soulstones if you can swing it, but a non-Awakened Hollyberry with proper toppings still does the job at Diamond. See the full build on her gear guide page.

Skill priority: Skill level matters less for her than for the DPS. Stop at level 9 if you are short on level-ups and feed Pavlova instead.

She is the second-front, not a tank. Her job is to land her debuff on the enemy backline, eat one rotation of damage, and then keep auto-attacking through it. Full build details live on her gear guide page.

The most common mistake here is building her like a DPS. She is not. Her contribution is the defense shred and the ATK SPD slow on enemy front. Treat her stats like a support.

This is where 70% of your investment goes. Pavlova is your damage. If she does not burst, you lose, because nothing else on this team scales with toppings the way she does. Build her per the Pavlova gear guide and prioritize her topping sub-stats above every other cookie on the roster.

Skill level her to 12 first, then everyone else.

Ash Salt is the cookie that makes this comp work above Platinum. Her debuff hits on skill cast, which means cooldown reduction toppings are mandatory, not optional. Five CD toppings, then chase ATK SPD substats.

Drop her in mid behind Black Sapphire. Front would get her killed before she fires, and back would put her too far from the actual debuff trigger.

Standard healer build. Heal output toppings, prioritize his ult cooldown, and you are done. The Pure Vanilla gear guide covers the topping breakdown. He is a permanent fixture on most F2P teams for the next eighteen months, so this investment never goes stale.

Treasures for the F2P comp

Lock these three in:

  • Squishy Jelly Watch. Cooldown reduction on match start. Pulls Pavlova's first cast forward, which is the entire reason you win or lose round one.
  • Old Pilgrim's Scroll. Damage reduction on the frontline for the opening seconds. Hollyberry was already going to live, but Black Sapphire was not, and this fixes that.
  • Bookseller's Monocle OR Disco-Ball Hairpin. Monocle if you are facing more shielded backlines, Hairpin if you are facing more single-target frontline meta. Check the previous week's match history and pick the one that solves your actual losses.

Upgrade Squishy Jelly Watch to +9 first. The others can sit at +6 until you have spare materials.

If you are scrolling past treasures because you assume they do not matter, stop. The treasure slot is the only "free" power gain in arena, and a +9 Squishy Jelly Watch on this comp is worth roughly two cookie levels.

Topping investment priority

Magic Lab dust is your bottleneck, not your cookie roster. Spend it in this order:

  1. Pavlova to full 5-piece Searing Raspberry with CRIT and Cooldown substats. Reroll substats until you hit at least three CRIT % rolls across the five pieces.
  2. Ash Salt to full 5-piece Swift Chocolate with Cooldown priority. ATK SPD substats second.
  3. Hollyberry to 5-piece Solid Almond with HP substats.
  4. Pure Vanilla to 5-piece Solid Almond with Cooldown substats. Heal cadence matters more than heal size at this rank.
  5. Black Sapphire to 5-piece Solid Almond or Swift Chocolate, depending on whether you need her to live or to debuff faster.

Do not split dust between cookies. Finish one before starting the next. A fully-toppinged Pavlova carries this team. A half-toppinged Pavlova and a half-toppinged Ash Salt loses both rounds.

What to do when you pull your first Legendary

The good news about being F2P is that one Legendary changes everything. Here is the swap order if RNG smiles on you over the next six months.

Legendary you pulledReplacesWhat changes
Sugar SwanPure VanillaHealing throughput jumps roughly 35%. Pavlova survives the second burst.
TimekeeperAsh SaltAnti-revive becomes airtight. Now you can take fights with two heavy backlines.
Dark EnchantressPavlovaDPS ceiling jumps to S+. This is the single biggest single-cookie upgrade.
Aegis HollyberryHollyberryTank passive scales harder. Frontline holds another full skill rotation.
Venom DoughBlack SapphireReal bomber DPS in slot 2. Opens up burst-comp variants.

Pull priority matters less than people think. If you only ever get one Legendary, Dark Enchantress is the highest individual lift. If you get two, Sugar Swan plus DE is the cleanest upgrade. If you get Timekeeper first, you can already start farming for Master rank.

If you are early in your account, the reroll guide covers which Legendaries are worth restarting for. If you are 80+ days deep, do not reroll. Just keep playing.

Honest ceiling and when to give up on F2P-only

This comp tops out in mid-Champion. That is not a guess, that is the consistent ceiling reported across multiple F2P arena trackers as of this month. You can spike higher on good matchmaking days, and you can drop to Diamond if you get fed three meta Legendary stacks in a row.

You will not reach Master without at least two of the Legendaries from the upgrade table. The math does not work. Master-tier opponents are running maxed Sugar Swan plus Timekeeper plus Dark Enchantress, and the F2P comp loses by roughly 18% effective DPS in those matchups, which translates to losing the burst race every single time.

That is fine. Diamond rewards are 90% of the gain. The crystals, ancient cookie soulstones, and weekly shop currency from Diamond rank are enough to keep your account compounding. Master rewards are mostly cosmetic flex.

The exception: if you find yourself winning consistently at high Diamond with this comp, the official tier list can help you spot which Legendary banner to actually save crystals for. Do not pull every banner. Pick one Legendary that is on your upgrade path and pre-commit.

Quick Action Checklist

  • Build the five-cookie comp listed above. Do not substitute. The synergies break with swaps below Diamond.
  • Lock in Squishy Jelly Watch + Old Pilgrim's Scroll + Monocle or Hairpin as your treasures.
  • Spend Magic Lab dust on Pavlova first, then Ash Salt, then the frontline.
  • Skill level Pavlova to 12 before leveling anyone else past 9.
  • Run current codes for free crystals and Magic Lab materials.
  • Check arena meta guide to recognize which Legendary comps to dodge in your match queue.
  • Do not pull on Legendary banners unless they are on your upgrade path.
  • Set a hard floor: if you climb to Champion, stop. The matchmaking gets ugly.

Frequently Asked Questions

Not consistently. Master-tier opponents are running fully built Legendary cores like Sugar Swan plus Timekeeper plus Dark Enchantress, and the math does not favor the all-Epic burst race. You can ladder spike into low Master on lucky matchmaking days, but you will fall back to Champion within a few losses. Plan for high Diamond as the realistic floor and treat anything above as bonus.
