Cookie Run: Kingdom Gacha Guide — When to Pull or Save

The single most expensive thing a CRK player does isn't a bad pull — it's pulling on the wrong banner with no idea how the system works. Here's the gacha demystified: how rate-up actually helps, what pity guarantees on Crystal, event and Destiny banners, why Soulstones matter more than the summon screen, and a clean rule for when to spend your crystals versus when to sit on them.

Dark Enchantress Cookie, the Witch-rarity Cookie featured on Cookie Run: Kingdom's Emblem of Darkness event gacha and a Destiny Gacha theme.

Updated 10 October 2026: earlier versions said CRK has no real pity. It does. Crystal banners guarantee a Cookie of any rarity every 10 draws and an Epic every 100, event gachas a featured Cookie at a set draw count (usually 250), and the Destiny Gacha one every 300 draws per theme. The pity section and gate 4 now work from those numbers.

The single most expensive thing a Cookie Run: Kingdom player ever does is not a bad pull. It's tapping the summon button on the wrong banner, with no plan, because the crystals were there and the animation looked fun. Two players can earn the exact same crystals over six months and end up far apart in roster strength if only one of them understood the gacha well enough to point those pulls at the right targets.

So before you spend another crystal, here's the system demystified: how summoning actually resolves, why rate-up is the only banner type that matters, what pity does and doesn't guarantee on each kind of gacha, the difference between Soulstones and the Mileage Shop, and a clean rule for when to pull versus when to sit on your stash. Drop rates shift between banners and patches, so confirm any specific rate on the in-game banner before you commit a stash — the game shows you the real odds on every banner's info screen.

The one thing the gacha punishes

Here's the rule everything else hangs on: the CRK gacha punishes reactive spending and rewards patience aimed at a target. It does not reward grinding harder. It does not reward pulling more often. It rewards knowing which banner is worth your finite crystals and ignoring the rest.

The corollary, and the most important sentence in this guide: the default action is to save. Spending is the exception you justify with a real roster gap, not the baseline you fall back to because the stash hit a round number. An account that defaults to saving and only spends on meta-defining rate-up banners outpaces a busier account that pulls on every shiny thing that appears.

The most expensive mistake in CRK is being crystal-broke when the banner that actually matters drops. Treat your stash as ammunition you're holding for a target, not a balance you're itching to spend.

How the CRK gacha actually works

Strip away the animation and the summon is simple: each pull rolls against a rarity table. The bulk of your pulls land Common through Rare cookies you'll never use competitively. A smaller slice are Epic cookies, some of which are genuinely useful. The top of the table is Super Epic, Legendary, Ancient, Dragon, Beast and Witch rarities — the cookies that actually define a roster — and those sit at low rates by design. That's the whole point of a gacha: the cookies that change results are rare on purpose.

A few mechanics that matter more than the rarity table itself:

  • Different gachas take different currencies. The standard and Featured Cookie Gacha take Crystals (the premium currency you earn for free as F2P) at 300 per draw or 3,000 for ten, or a matching Cookie Cutter. Limited event gachas run on their own event currency, and the Destiny Gacha takes only Destiny Cookie Cutters and Tickets. Crystals are your real currency — guard them.
  • Single pulls and 10-pulls cost the same per draw (3,000 Crystals is exactly ten 300-Crystal draws) and draw from the same odds. The Cookie Gacha's guarantee, per the CRK wikis, is one whole Cookie of any rarity every ten draws (Common counts, so it is not a rarity floor) and one Epic Cookie every 100 draws. Neither raises your Legendary odds per draw.
  • Dupes turn into Soulstones, which is the actual long-game payoff of pulling a high-rarity cookie more than once (more on that below).
  • Banners rotate. The summon screen is not one static pool. There's a standard pool, Featured "Chance UP!" banners that boost specific cookies at the same Crystal price, limited event gachas, and the Destiny Gacha's themes. The boosted banners are where your pulls should almost always go.

If you're brand new and haven't linked your account yet, the gacha also interacts with rerolling — restarting for a strong first Legendary. That's a separate decision with its own math; the reroll guide covers when it's worth it and how to do it fast.

Rate-up banners are the whole game

Dark Enchantress Cookie, a meta-defining Witch Cookie worth aiming a rate-up pull at.

Here's the most actionable fact in this entire guide: almost never pull on the standard/general banner. Pull on rate-up.

A rate-up banner boosts the odds of a specific featured cookie within its rarity. The general banner spreads your luck across the entire pool, which means you're gambling crystals at the worst possible odds of hitting any one cookie you actually want. Rate-up concentrates those odds on the target. When a meta-definer like Dark Enchantress gets her own banner, your odds of landing her specifically are far better than fishing for her in the general pool. She debuted on the Emblem of Darkness event gacha (January 14 to March 10, 2026), which guaranteed her (or 20 of her Soulstones) every 250 draws, and the Destiny Gacha's Fatebreaking Darkness theme now guarantees her every 300. Since the August 26, 2026 update, though, Call of Destiny's Power of Darkness event lets you select and obtain her for free, so check that before you spend a single draw on her. A must-have Cookie's debut banner is exactly the window you've been saving for.

The discipline that follows: let the banner schedule drive your spending, not your crystal count. Devsisters' update notices announce new Cookies and new Destiny Gacha themes, and new-cookie debuts are the ones that move rosters. A disciplined player banks between updates so they walk in with a full stash when a target lands. The general banner is for almost nothing. Rate-up is the game.

What pity actually guarantees in CRK

CRK does have pity. It's split across three kinds of gacha, and the one your Crystals buy carries the weakest version:

GachaPaid withWhat it guarantees
Cookie Gacha (standard) and Featured "Chance UP!" bannersCrystals (300 per draw, 3,000 for ten) or Cookie CuttersOne Cookie of any rarity every 10 draws and one Epic Cookie every 100 draws. No featured-Cookie guarantee is documented
Limited event gachas (Nether-Gacha, Tide Shard, Beast Gacha, Emblem of Darkness and others)That event's own currencyA free copy of the featured Cookie (or 20 of its Soulstones) at a set draw count, usually every 250 draws. Some have used other counts: 270 on 2023's Dreamy Crystal Droplet Gacha, 225 on 2025's Forkbearer Gacha, 100 on the Epic-tier Wedding Gacha
Destiny Gacha (called the Gacha of Fate until v7.4)Destiny Cookie Cutters and Tickets onlyEvery 300 draws in one theme, you select and obtain its featured Cookie. On the five duo themes it's a Choice Chest: the Beast, or 20 of the Awakened Ancient's Soulprisms. Each theme counts separately

The Crystal-banner and event-gacha figures come from the Fandom and cookierun.wiki Gacha pages and the event-gacha pages. The Destiny rule is stated in Devsisters' own July 16, September 9 and October 7, 2026 update notices for the themes they added. None of it is new: the 250-draw guarantee was already on 2021 event gachas like the Tide Shard Gacha, and the Destiny Gacha's 300-draw pity arrived in v5.9 on September 4, 2024, counting pulls made before it.

Two details are easy to miss. The 10-draw guarantee is a whole Cookie, and a Common counts, so it doesn't lift your rarity. And 100 draws on a Crystal banner costs 30,000 Crystals and guarantees nothing better than an Epic.

What that means in practice:

  • On Crystal banners, budget as if you might not hit. No featured guarantee is documented there, so you genuinely can whiff on the featured cookie. A half-stash "and hope" is still a trap.
  • On event and Destiny gachas, the guarantee is a real target if you can reach it. Count your currency against the event gacha's threshold (usually 250) or 300 (one Destiny theme) before you start. Free supply hasn't always got there: the CRK Fandom wiki puts the 2021 Tide Shard Gacha at 231 free draws, short of its 250.
  • Don't split a Destiny stash. Devsisters' notices say pull counts are tracked separately per theme, so 150 draws in each of two themes guarantees nothing.
  • Don't assume a count carries over. The wikis and notices cited here don't say whether event-gacha counts carry into a rerun, or whether the Crystal 10/100 counters survive a Featured banner change. Check the banner's info screen.
  • Never chase on Crystals. "I'm in this deep, the next ten will hit" is the sunk-cost fallacy, and on a Crystal banner the only documented guarantee past ten draws is an Epic at 100. Decide your spend limit before you tap summon and honor it.

Set your Crystal limit for a banner before you pull, not in the heat of a dry streak. On Crystal banners the guarantees stop at one Epic per 100 draws, so a number you committed to in advance is what stands between you and a busted stash.

Soulstones vs the Mileage Shop

The two systems sound similar and do completely different jobs.

Soulstones are the cookie-specific shards you collect to unlock a cookie you don't have, or to dupe (raise the stars of) one you do. You get them from dupe pulls, from certain shops and events, and from specific stages. Soulstones are the slow, reliable path to cookies the gacha won't hand you — every Soulstone you bank toward a target is progress that can't be undone by bad luck. For a cookie you can farm Soulstones for, that grind is often a more dependable route than gambling crystals.

The Mileage Shop runs on Mileage Points, which you earn on every pull from the Cookie Gacha (standard or Featured) and the Treasure Gacha, with bigger payouts for duplicates of a maxed Cookie or Treasure. The Daily Gift can also pay Mileage when it rolls Soulstones for a Cookie you've already maxed. The shop's Cookie stock is Epic Soulstones (100 Mileage Points each; most Epic Cookies are listed, and new ones arrive about two major updates after release), alongside Star Jellies, Speed-Ups, Arena Tickets, Treasure Tickets, Rainbow Cubes and Soul Essence. It doesn't sell whole Cookies. The key insight: Mileage is a consolation track that rewards the act of pulling, so the Cookie Gacha pulls you make chasing a featured cookie aren't fully wasted even when you whiff — they're banking Mileage toward something concrete.

The practical takeaways:

  • Don't ignore your Mileage. Check the Mileage Shop and spend it deliberately on the highest-value option available, rather than letting it sit. It's value you already earned by pulling.
  • Soulstones are the patient F2P route to specific cookies. If a cookie you want is farmable via Soulstones, that path sidesteps the gacha entirely — bank them.
  • Confirm current contents in-game. Exactly which Epic Soulstones and items appear in the Mileage Shop, and which cookies have farmable Soulstones, shift over time. Check before you plan around either.

When to pull and when to save

Run every banner through these gates in order. Pull only if it clears all of them:

  1. Is the featured cookie S-tier on the current tier list? If no, save. Below S-tier almost never justifies a real stash.
  2. Does it fill a real gap in your roster? If you already have a built answer for that role, save. A second healer when yours is built is a luxury, not an upgrade.
  3. Will it change a result you currently can't clear? If it just makes an already-winning team marginally better, save. Pull for breakthroughs, not small gains.
  4. Is it a rate-up banner, and can you afford it? What "afford" means depends on the gacha. On a Crystal Featured banner no featured guarantee is documented, so it means a ceiling you can lose without being unable to react to the next banner. On an event gacha or a Destiny theme, it means the currency to reach that gacha's guarantee (usually 250 draws on an event gacha, 300 on a Destiny theme). If it's the general banner, or you can't afford it on those terms, wait. Bank to your target first.

If a banner clears all four, that's your green light — commit and don't second-guess it. If it fails any single gate, save. The whole discipline lives in honoring gate 1 (S-tier only) and gate 4 (rate-up, and affordable on that gacha's terms) even when a cookie looks fun. For the deeper decision framework and a sample saving rhythm, the F2P crystal guide has the full tree.

Hollyberry Cookie, the kind of role-defining anchor that clears the pull gate when a real tank is your roster gap.

F2P pull discipline

Sea Fairy Cookie, a long-standing Legendary carry — the kind of pull that's worth crystals only if it fills a real gap on your roster.

If you're free-to-play, your crystals are your entire economy, and discipline is the only edge you have over a wallet. The habits that separate a strong F2P account from a stalled one:

  • Default to saving, treat spending as the exception. Bank toward a target, then pull; never pull "on the way up" with a half-stash.
  • Build free and Epic cookies so you clear content without pulling. A built Epic core keeps your crystals pointed at the Legendaries that actually move the needle instead of brute-forcing content a built Epic could have cleared.
  • Claim the Crystals that pay on a schedule, and the ones that pay once. Kingdom Arena pays Crystals at the end of every 28-day Season based on your Tier, plus a one-time Crystal gift for each new Tier you reach that Season (per cookierun.wiki), so a higher Tier is recurring income. Beast-Yeast is finished: Episode 15, its final one, landed March 11, 2026, and new episodes now arrive in Timeline of Fate. Its Star milestones and the first Challenge-mode clear of each stage (300 Crystals, Episode 11 onward, after a Hard clear) are one-time Crystals, so claim any you haven't.
  • Prioritize sustain when it's your gap. If a missing healer is what's stopping your clears, an S-tier healer passes gates 2 and 3 even when you're swimming in damage; cross-check the best healers ranking.
  • Aim free event currency and Destiny Cutters at guarantees you can reach. They only work on their own gachas, so check whether your free supply reaches the event gacha's guarantee (usually 250 draws) or 300 in one Destiny theme before you start spending it.
  • Use Soulstones and Mileage as your no-gamble tracks. Farmable Soulstones and the Mileage Shop's Epic Soulstones are how a F2P player lands specific cookies without surrendering to the rarity table.

That's the entire F2P game: skip the pulls that don't matter so you can afford the ones that do.

Common gacha mistakes

The patterns that drain stashes and stall accounts:

  • Pulling on the general banner. Always rate-up. The standard pool bleeds crystals at the worst possible odds of hitting any specific cookie.
  • Reactive pulling. Spending the instant crystals hit a round number instead of waiting for a target. This is the big one.
  • Mixing up which banner has which pity. Crystal banners guarantee only a Cookie of any rarity every 10 draws and an Epic every 100, with no documented featured guarantee. The featured guarantees (usually every 250 draws on event gachas, every 300 per Destiny theme) sit on gachas that don't take Crystals. Check the banner info screen and budget for the one you're actually on.
  • Splitting Destiny pulls across themes. Each theme counts separately, so 150 draws in two themes guarantees nothing.
  • Chasing a dry streak. Sunk cost. Set a spend limit before you tap summon and stop there, win or lose.
  • Ignoring Mileage. Every Cookie Gacha and Treasure Gacha pull earns it; letting it rot in the Mileage Shop is throwing away value you already paid for.
  • Pulling for dupes before your core is built. A built single copy of a meta cookie beats a 3-star off-meta one. Breadth before depth until your core roster exists.
  • FOMO on collab banners. Limited-time pressure makes a non-meta cookie feel urgent. Urgency isn't value — run the four gates anyway.

Quick Action Checklist

  • Default to saving; treat every pull as an exception you justify with a roster gap
  • Pull on rate-up banners only — almost never the general/standard banner
  • Run every banner through the four gates: S-tier, fills a gap, changes a result, rate-up and affordable
  • Know the pity on the banner you're on: a Cookie per 10 draws and an Epic per 100 on Crystal banners, a featured Cookie usually every 250 draws on event gachas, every 300 per Destiny theme. Confirm it on the info screen
  • Set a Crystal spend limit before you tap summon, and honor it even on a dry streak
  • Only chase an event or Destiny guarantee you can reach, and take one Destiny theme to 300 rather than splitting
  • Spend your Mileage deliberately in the Mileage Shop — it's value you earned by pulling
  • Bank Soulstones as the patient, no-gamble path to specific cookies
  • Build a free/Epic core so you clear PvE without spending crystals
  • Prioritize an S-tier healer if sustain is your roster gap
  • Check the current tier list for this month's pull targets

Frequently Asked Questions

When should I pull in Cookie Run: Kingdom?
In Cookie Run: Kingdom, pull only when a banner clears four gates: the featured cookie is S-tier on the current tier list, it fills a real gap in your roster, it changes a result you currently can't clear, and it's a rate-up banner you can afford. On a Crystal Featured banner, where no featured-Cookie guarantee is documented, that means a spend ceiling you can lose and still react to the next banner; on an event gacha or Destiny theme it means enough currency to reach its guarantee (usually 250 draws on an event gacha, 300 on a Destiny theme). If a banner fails any one of those, save. The default action in CRK is always to save — spending is the exception you justify with a genuine roster need, not the baseline.
Should I pull on the rate-up banner or the general banner in CRK?
Almost always the rate-up banner. A rate-up banner concentrates your odds on a specific featured cookie, so when a meta-definer is featured your effective chance of landing that exact cookie is dramatically better. The general/standard banner spreads your luck across the entire pool, which is the worst possible odds of hitting any one cookie you actually want. Save your crystals for rate-up windows and skip the general banner.
Does Cookie Run: Kingdom have a pity system?
Yes, and it differs by gacha. On the Crystal-paid Cookie Gacha and Featured "Chance UP!" banners, the CRK wikis document one Cookie of any rarity every 10 draws and one Epic Cookie every 100 draws, with no featured-Cookie guarantee documented. Limited event gachas, which use event currency rather than Crystals, give a free copy of the featured Cookie (or 20 of its Soulstones) at a set draw count, usually every 250 draws, a rule already in place on 2021 event gachas; a few have used 225, 270 or 100 instead. The Destiny Gacha, paid only with Destiny Cookie Cutters and Tickets, lets you select and obtain the featured Cookie every 300 draws in a theme (on the five duo themes, a Choice Chest of the Beast or 20 of the Awakened Ancient's Soulprisms), with each theme counted separately, per Devsisters' 2026 update notices and cookierun.wiki; that pity dates from v5.9 in September 2024. Confirm the guarantee on the banner's info screen and set a Crystal spend limit before you pull.
What is the difference between Soulstones and the Mileage Shop?
Soulstones are cookie-specific shards you collect to unlock a cookie you don't have or to dupe (star up) one you do — they're the slow, reliable, no-gamble path to specific cookies, and you bank them from dupe pulls, shops, events, and certain stages. The Mileage Shop runs on Mileage Points, which you earn on every Cookie Gacha (standard or Featured) and Treasure Gacha pull, and spend on Epic Cookie Soulstones (100 points each), Star Jellies, Speed-Ups, Arena Tickets, Treasure Tickets, Rainbow Cubes and Soul Essence; it does not sell whole Cookies. The key takeaway: every Cookie Gacha pull builds Mileage, so even a whiff isn't fully wasted, and Soulstones let you sidestep the gacha entirely for farmable cookies.
How do F2P players manage crystals in the CRK gacha?
Default to saving, build a free and Epic core so you clear PvE without pulling, and aim crystals only at S-tier rate-up banners that fill a real gap. Climb Kingdom Arena Tiers, which pay Crystals at the end of every 28-day Season by Tier plus a one-time Crystal gift for each new Tier reached that Season, and claim any one-time Beast-Yeast Crystals you haven't (its Star milestones, and 300 per Challenge-mode stage from Episode 11); Beast-Yeast ended with Episode 15 on March 11, 2026, and new episodes now come from Timeline of Fate. Use Soulstones and Mileage as no-gamble tracks toward specific cookies, only chase an event gacha's guarantee (usually 250 draws) or a Destiny theme's 300-draw guarantee if your free supply can reach it, prioritize an S-tier healer if sustain is your gap, and never pull 'on the way up' with a half-stash. The F2P edge is discipline: skipping the pulls that don't matter so you can afford the ones that do.
Does a 10-pull have better odds than single pulls in CRK?
No. In Cookie Run: Kingdom a 10-pull on the Cookie Gacha costs 3,000 Crystals, exactly ten 300-Crystal single draws, and draws from the same per-pull odds, so it does not raise your Legendary odds. The guarantee the CRK wikis document is one whole Cookie of any rarity every ten draws (a Common counts, so it is not a rarity floor) plus one Epic Cookie every 100 draws. The wikis don't say whether single pulls count toward the ten-draw guarantee the same way, so check the banner info screen before you commit a stash.
