WoW: Forever Hotfixes Explained: Nov 5-6 Changes

Three days after World of Warcraft: Forever launched, Blizzard posted its first hotfix list for it. Here is what actually changed for players, what was only a tooltip correction, and what the separate Midnight hotfix list did to The Venomous Abyss.

Three days after launch, WoW: Forever already has a hotfix list, and most of it is cleanup. Many entries fix a spell that did nothing, a tooltip that lied, or a quest that broke for the whole zone. Blizzard posted the Forever list on November 7, 2026, covering fixes applied on November 5 and November 6. If you are new to the product, start with our WoW: Forever explainer; this piece only translates the fix list.

What Blizzard posted

Blizzard runs two separate hotfix pages. One is for Forever; the other is the main WoW (Midnight) list. Both are dated November 7 and both list changes applied on November 6. The Forever page says the list "will be updated as additional hotfixes are applied," so treat what follows as a snapshot of what the page showed on November 8, 2026. Later entries may exist by the time you read this, and Blizzard's page is the source of record.

Class fixes

Under classes, Blizzard fixed the Quick and the Dead Legacy Talent, which "sometimes did not work as intended." It did not say what the failure looked like. Beyond that, the entries are class by class.

ClassWhat changedReal change or tooltip only
DruidBloom now correctly heals the targetReal fix
DruidBear Form tooltip claimed the wrong health increase; the effect itself was correctTooltip only
DruidRavage tooltip showed the wrong damage; Blizzard says no damage change was madeTooltip only
DruidSwiftmend tooltip no longer wrongly mentions consuming the effectTooltip only
MageMages were learning a Research spell and losing it on relog; it should not exist and only Study should be learned after the questReal fix
MageArcane Blast duration was not properly 18 secondsReal fix
RogueShank tooltips now show Rank 1 and Rank 2; with Boot Knife talented, Shank shows the Combo Points it grantsTooltip only
WarlockSoul Siphon no longer makes Wrack increase its own damageReal fix
WarriorReckless Swings tooltip now mentions that it activates Gore DrinkerTooltip only
Cooldown ManagerCrowd control durations now display correctly even with diminishing returns or reductions such as the orc stun reductionDisplay fix

The few real number changes

Two entries touch numbers you could feel. Warlock Voidwalker base health is increased by about 40 at all levels, a small buff to the pet. Separately, Blizzard fixed the Orc racial Command so that some Warlock pet abilities no longer benefit too much from it. Blizzard did not say how much Command's effect on those abilities changes.

Under Night Elf, Blizzard fixed a bug that gave Shadowmelded Druids access to Ravage and Pounce.

Quests, dungeons and the world

  • Vorsha the Lasher: fixed so the quest no longer lashes everyone in the zone.
  • The Sleeper Has Awakened: Kerlonian Evershade will fall asleep less often, and players now start with the Horn of Awakening item to wake him.
  • Rough Wolf Pelts: now automatically cancelled if you unlearn Skinning.
  • Rediscovering the Light: fixed a case where players could not heal NPCs.
  • Ammo for Rumbleshot: fixed loot not showing if you interacted right after another player.
  • Riverglades: some quest item drops were not shared in a party; Krek the Noxious now has correct loot.
  • Never Saddle on Quality: spawns and quest item drops are more common.
  • Unending Torment: the Abomination Head from The Baron in the Ruins of Lordaeron now offers the quest to Horde players at level 15 (was 16).
  • Dungeons: Zaetar's Spirit now spawns after Princess Theradras in Maraudon; some creatures in Blackmaw Hold and The Drowned City no longer erroneously disengage; the instance portal now correctly teleports you inside The Drowned City.
  • Leatherworking: the Tanning Rack skill requirement drops to 125 (was 140), with Tanning Rack skill-ups lowered by 15 points to compensate. Blizzard's stated reason is that the old requirement blocked patterns needing 125 skill.
  • Items: Searing Dagger is now only activated by spells with a damaging component.
  • World: improvements to how visible other players and their targets are across large distances, and the Thunder Bluff Barbershop is no longer darker than intended.

Several entries are small creature fixes: troggs in Grol'bolar Quarry in Dun Morogh respawned too quickly, Ridgeshade Lurkers in Durotar now have loot, Pelluk in the Swamp of Sorrows sometimes did not spawn, and Lasher Sproutlings, Blooming Lashers and Wrathvine in Teldrassil were immune to nature damage.

What the November 5 list added

The earlier day is shorter. It fixed Yarrog Baneshadow respawning too slowly in Durotar and murlocs in Dustwallow Marsh respawning too quickly, and made Lotheluum Starbreeze on Zephras offer training to Druids as expected. Trade supply vendors on Zephras Isle now sell apprentice tradeskill bags, and Mild Spices sell to vendors for 1 copper (was 2).

The one PvP fix: Plainsrunning could be stacked during a battleground's preparation phase. It can no longer stack, and stacks are cancelled when you carry a flag. Two smaller entries fixed incorrect text in The Sisterhood of Elune and made Deathstalker Erland respawn faster for Escorting Erland.

The Midnight list from the same days

Blizzard's other list covers modern WoW. Its November 5 and 6 raid entries are all about one raid, The Venomous Abyss, and nearly all of them cut boss damage or health. Figures below are Blizzard's own.

DateBossChange
Nov 5Entombed SentinelsBlood Venom pool max scale reduced on Heroic and Mythic; Mythic pool duration cut to 2 minutes (was 5)
Nov 5Twin FangsVisceral Burst damage reduced 40% on Mythic
Nov 5The Coiled AltarAxegrinder movement speed down 20% on all difficulties; Malevolent Resonance damage down 60%; Mythic Spiteful Soulcoilers from Spiritcackle cut to 1 (was 2)
Nov 6Vashnik, the MalignantMythic Malignance damage down 37%, and its damage over time lasts 16 seconds
Nov 6Ula'tekHeroic health down 15%; Unchecked Rage damage down 61% on all difficulties; Mythic Putrid Membrane duration cut to 20 seconds (was 30)

The Ula'tek entry is the longest: Blizzard adjusted health scaling on Raid Finder, Normal and Heroic "to better account for smaller raid sizes," lowered base health so larger groups do not inflate it, and trimmed several ability numbers and egg counts. On November 5 the same list also fixed a Basilisk Blitz delve bug in Shadowguard Point that could change your appearance and make friendly units hostile, and renamed several Tortollan NPCs.

What the lists do not tell you

  • No timestamps inside a day. The Midnight page says some hotfixes take effect immediately and others may need scheduled realm restarts; check in game rather than assuming a fix is live for you.
  • No explanation for most fixes. The Quick and the Dead entry gives no symptom, and the Voidwalker and Command entries give no resulting numbers. We are not going to guess.
  • No Forever balance pass. Nothing in either snapshot is a broad class rebalance for Forever. The numeric changes are narrow.
  • The list moves. Blizzard says it will keep updating the Forever page. If something here has changed, trust Blizzard's page.

Frequently Asked Questions

What did the first WoW: Forever hotfixes change?
Blizzard's first WoW: Forever hotfix list, posted November 7, 2026 and covering November 5 and 6, is mostly bug and tooltip fixes. Druid Bloom now heals correctly, Mages no longer learn a Research spell that should not exist, Warlock Voidwalkers gain about 40 base health at all levels, and the Tanning Rack now needs 125 Leatherworking skill instead of 140. Many quests, respawns and dungeon encounters were also fixed.
Did WoW: Forever get a class balance patch in the November 6 hotfixes?
No broad class balance pass appears in Blizzard's WoW: Forever hotfix list for November 5 and 6, 2026. The class entries are mostly bug fixes and tooltip corrections, with narrow number changes such as Warlock Voidwalker base health rising by about 40.
Are the WoW: Forever hotfixes the same as the Midnight hotfixes?
No. Blizzard publishes a separate WoW: Forever hotfix page and a separate page for Midnight. The Midnight page for November 5 and 6, 2026 is mostly nerfs to bosses in The Venomous Abyss raid.
What changed on Ula'tek in The Venomous Abyss?
On November 6, 2026 Blizzard cut Ula'tek health by 15% on Heroic, reduced Unchecked Rage damage by 61% on all difficulties, and shortened Putrid Membrane on Mythic to 20 seconds from 30. It also adjusted health scaling on Raid Finder, Normal and Heroic for smaller raid sizes.
Where can I read the official WoW: Forever hotfix notes?
Blizzard posts them on the World of Warcraft news page under the title "WoW: Forever Hotfixes - November 6, 2026." Blizzard says the list will be updated as more hotfixes are applied, so the official page is more current than any summary.
