How to Watch gamescom 2026: Stream Times and Channels
The Saturday tickets, the Wildcard and the on-site ONL seats are sold out — but the broadcast side of gamescom 2026 costs nothing and now has real times attached. Opening Night Live streams August 25 at 8:00 p.m. CEST with a 7:30 pre-show, Xbox is running two live broadcasts, the Future Games Show is back three times over, and Games Done Quick has published its full three-day run schedule — including a blindfolded Ocarina of Time and a Silksong Any%.

The tickets are the part of gamescom 2026 that costs money, and we covered what is left of those — Saturday is gone, Wednesday needs a sold-out Wildcard, and the on-site seats for Opening Night Live vanished weeks ago.
This is the other half, and it is free. gamescom's broadcast layer now has hard times attached: Opening Night Live streams Tuesday, August 25 at 8:00 p.m. CEST — that is 2:00 p.m. Eastern, 11:00 a.m. Pacific — with a pre-show half an hour earlier, and gamescom says both its big shows go out live on the official gamescom channels on YouTube and Twitch. Xbox is running two live broadcasts of its own. The Future Games Show is back three times across the week. And the thing that was still a blank page when our ticket guide went up: Games Done Quick has published the complete three-day run schedule for its European debut, down to the minute and the runner.
Here is the whole viewing week, translated out of Cologne time.
The master schedule
Every published stream window for gamescom week, straight from the organizers' pages and GamesRadar's schedule roundup. CEST is Cologne local time.

Two structural notes before the detail. First, the West Coast trade is brutal on GDQ — a 10:00 a.m. Cologne start is 1:00 a.m. Pacific, so US viewers are effectively watching the back half of each day live and the front half on VOD. Second, the same weekend is Pokemon Worlds in San Francisco, nine time zones behind Cologne — we broke down that event's free streaming layer separately, and the time-zone gap is what keeps the two watchable back to back rather than head to head.
Opening Night Live: times and named reveals
The exact rundown from gamescom's ONL page: pre-show at 7:30 p.m. CEST, main show at 8:00 p.m., expected end at 10:00 p.m. — a two-hour broadcast on Tuesday, August 25, hosted by Geoff Keighley with co-host Eefje "sjokz" Depoortere. The on-site show in Hall 1 is sold out and gamescom's own advice to everyone else is the livestream, on its website and its YouTube and Twitch channels.
Four segments are publicly attached to the show so far:
- METRO 2039 — news promised by gamescom's own press release, targeting a 2027 release.
- The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — Songs of the Past — same press release, also expected in 2027. Our Witcher 3 vertical will have opinions.
- Warlock: Dungeons & Dragons — the first gameplay showcase for Invoke Studios' action game, announced through Wizards' Gen Con keynote, with Maggie Robertson performing the patron Tasha and Tricia Helfer voicing the protagonist Kaatri. We covered the announcement in the D&D roadmap out of Gen Con.
- Final Fantasy VII Revelation — GamesRadar's schedule roundup lists another look at the trilogy closer with game director Naoki Hamaguchi.
Everything else in the two hours is sealed, which is the point of the format — gamescom's own billing for the show is world premieres, exclusive announcements and surprises. The four named segments above are confirmations layered on a show that has published no rundown of its own.
The Xbox broadcasts and the Future Games Show
The showcase undercard is where a viewer's Wednesday gets crowded.
Xbox is running two live broadcasts from Cologne — Wednesday, August 26 and Thursday, August 27, both at 4:00 p.m. CEST / 10:00 a.m. EDT / 7:00 a.m. PDT, on Xbox's YouTube and Twitch channels. GamesRadar reports the theme as celebrating 25 years of Xbox, with Fable among the games named for the show floor. Two broadcasts on consecutive days is a different shape from a single showcase: expect the reveals split rather than stacked.

The Future Games Show is at gamescom three times. The main showcase runs Wednesday, August 26 at 7:00 p.m. CEST / 1:00 p.m. EDT / 10:00 a.m. PDT — over 90 minutes, hosted by Resident Evil Requiem actors Nick Apostolides and Angela Sant'Albano — followed immediately by FGS Live from gamescom, a show-floor news block. The wrap-up, FGS Best of gamescom, closes the week on Sunday, August 30 at 7:00 p.m. CEST. All three go out on FGS's YouTube and Twitch channels plus GamesRadar's own site.
Sequence Wednesday carefully if you are watching live from Europe: Xbox at 4:00 p.m., FGS at 7:00 p.m., FGS Live directly after — that is an evening. From the US East Coast it is a 10-to-3 daytime block instead.
The gamescom awesome indies show, produced with IGN, runs Thursday, August 27 at 8:00 p.m. CEST / 2:00 p.m. EDT / 11:00 a.m. PDT — the same slot ONL occupies two nights earlier — in English at roughly 60 to 75 minutes, on gamescom.global and the official gamescom channels, with on-demand availability afterwards.
gamescom GDQ: the full run schedule
This is the piece that did not exist when our ticket guide shipped. Games Done Quick's European debut runs Friday, August 28 to Sunday, August 30 in the Konrad-Adenauer-Saal, streamed on twitch.tv/gamesdonequick and GDQ's YouTube channel, with donations going to the Gaming4Democracy initiative — and the full three-day schedule is now live on gamescom's GDQ page. Times below are Cologne local (CEST), as published; subtract 6 hours for EDT and 9 for PDT. Each day runs roughly 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. — about ten hours of runs.

The page carries the standard caveat that the schedule is subject to change, so treat the minute marks as targets rather than contracts. Sunday is the stacked card by any reading: a Hades II two-players-one-controller run into a Silksong Any% into a blindfolded Ocarina of Time, back to back to back across three hours. From the US East Coast that block runs roughly 5:30 a.m. to 8:15 a.m. — early, but not hopeless. GDQ says it has raised over 60 million dollars for charity since 2010; this is the first time the format has run on European soil, and the first time a Cologne convention hall audience gets to be the live crowd.

gamescom studio: the always-on layer
Between the marquee shows, the persistent broadcast is gamescom studio — produced together with IGN, running Wednesday through Sunday from a glass studio in Hall 7 plus mobile teams on the show floor. It carries live shows, new trailers, gameplay demos and developer interviews, streamed live on the official gamescom channels and available on demand right after.
The 2026 wrinkle worth knowing: gamescom says the studio programming runs in German and English, with locally produced live shows for Japan and China and additional VOD in those languages. If your interest is a specific publisher rather than a specific show, the studio stream is where booth-level coverage surfaces between showcases — it is the channel to leave on in the background, not the one to schedule around.

The award show and the cosplay contest
Two dated community fixtures bracket the weekend, and both have viewer-facing hooks.
The gamescom award announces its nominees on August 24 — before the doors even open — and the winners are announced live during the award show on Friday, August 28. Nineteen categories across the Arts, Platform and Global groups, decided by a jury of gaming professionals combined with a community vote. The category most relevant to a stream viewer: fans vote on the best trailer or announcement out of Opening Night Live itself, which means Tuesday's show feeds directly into Friday's award.
The cosplay contest final runs Saturday, August 29 at 5:00 p.m. CEST on the social stage in Hall 1, and the nominees are already up on gamescom's contest page with a Fan Favorite online vote open until August 28. gamescom has not published a standalone stream listing for either the award show or the cosplay final, so assume coverage surfaces through the studio stream and the official channels rather than a dedicated broadcast slot.
Co-streaming is official and free
If you would rather watch ONL inside a community than on the source feed, gamescom runs an official co-streaming program: fill out a form — gamescom's page says it is completely free — and you get co-streamer graphics and assets for your channel. The program covers Opening Night Live and the awesome indies show, both of which gamescom confirms are broadcast live on its YouTube and Twitch channels.
That also means the usual constellation applies: expect your favorite streamer to be live at 8:00 p.m. CEST on August 25 with the show in a window and commentary over the top, officially sanctioned. GDQ coverage stays on GDQ's channels — gamescom's page routes speedrun viewers there rather than to its own feed.
What still has no time slot
Being straight about the gaps, nine days out from ONL:
- The award show has a date but no published stream details. Winners are announced live on August 28; how that reaches the stream is not specified on the award page.
- The ONL rundown is four named segments and a sealed envelope. METRO 2039, The Witcher 3: Songs of the Past, Warlock: Dungeons & Dragons gameplay, and a Final Fantasy VII Revelation appearance are the publicly attached items; the other ninety-plus minutes are unannounced.
- The GDQ schedule is labeled subject to change. Check the GDQ page day-of before setting an alarm for a specific run.
Quick Action Checklist
- Set one alarm for Tuesday: 8:00 p.m. CEST / 2:00 p.m. EDT / 11:00 a.m. PDT, August 25 — Opening Night Live on gamescom's YouTube or Twitch channel, pre-show 30 minutes earlier, expected to run two hours.
- Wednesday is the stacked day: Xbox at 4:00 p.m. CEST, Future Games Show at 7:00 p.m. CEST, FGS Live directly after. From the US East Coast that is 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.
- Bookmark twitch.tv/gamesdonequick for Friday through Sunday — runs start 10:00 a.m. CEST daily, and Sunday's 11:28 a.m. to 2:13 p.m. CEST block (Hades II, Silksong, blindfolded Ocarina of Time) is the card to catch live if you only catch one.
- Vote before the shows: the cosplay Fan Favorite vote closes August 28, and the ONL trailer/announcement award is fan-voted after Tuesday's show.
- Planning to attend instead of watch? Our gamescom 2026 ticket guide covers what is still on sale, the hours, and the wristband rule. Watching Pokemon Worlds the same weekend? That free layer is here. More convention coverage in the Gaming Events archive and across the Mythras blog.
