CS2 Anubis Callouts: Every Name on de_anubis
Anubis came back to Active Duty on January 21, 2026, and Valve rewired part of the map on the same day it did — a bridge drop moved, the mid doors flipped, and a hole opened between something called E-box and the back of bombsite B. E-box is not on the community callout map at all. Here is the wiki's full 47-marker set for Anubis, checked line by line against what Valve has actually written down.

Anubis has been in the Counter-Strike 2 Active Duty pool for 226 days as of today. It did not come back unchanged. On January 21, 2026, the same patch that put Anubis back in Active Duty also moved a bridge drop, flipped the mid doors, and cut a new hole into the map next to something Valve's own release notes call E-box. E-box has no marker anywhere on the Counter-Strike Wiki's callout map for this map, and the map has been stable since a follow-up patch on February 4, 2026 — 212 days of no further changes, as of publication.
That is the kind of thing that happens to a map with Anubis's history: shipped as a community project, adopted by Valve, pulled from Active Duty, put back, and reworked on the way back in. So here is the wiki's full callout set for de_anubis — 47 markers, 46 names — checked against what Valve has actually published, area by area.
Anubis in 30 seconds
Per the Counter-Strike Wiki, Anubis was designed by Roald van der Scheur, jakuza and jd40 as a community Bomb Defusal map, and Valve added it to Counter-Strike: Global Offensive on March 31, 2020, in Scrimmage mode alongside Chlorine. It moved to Competitive ten days later, on April 10, 2020. Valve pulled it from the game entirely on May 3, 2021, then brought it back for CS:GO's tenth anniversary on August 16, 2022. Three months after that, on November 18, 2022, it entered the Active Duty Group — the second community-made map to do so, after Cache. The wiki notes that Valve took ownership of the map once it reached Active Duty.
Its path into Counter-Strike 2 was not a straight line either. Valve's own CS2 limited-test release notes show it added to Casual, Deathmatch and Competitive on August 2, 2023, pulled from Competitive on August 7, and removed from the test build entirely on August 15 — three changes inside two weeks. It was back in place for CS2's full launch on September 27, 2023, in the Active Duty pool from day one, as our CS2 Active Duty map pool history sets out. Valve then cut it from Active Duty on July 16, 2025 — Overpass took its slot — before returning it on January 21, 2026, this time in place of Train.
Two structural facts from the Counter-Strike Wiki's own description of the map:
- Bombsite A sits left of CT spawn, around a cylindrical object, with one Terrorist entrance directly from T spawn (A Main) and a second that links through mid, feeding a walkway above the site that gives Terrorists control of Heaven and the whole bombsite. Counter-Terrorists hold from Heaven, the site itself, and A Connector; an aggressive CT plays Plat or close to A Main.
- Bombsite B sits right of CT spawn, around an obelisk. Terrorists have two entrances — B Main and B Connector, which the wiki also calls Secret — and Counter-Terrorists have two primary retake pathways that approach from a similar direction, plus the option to flank through the Terrorist entrances via spawn or mid.
The wiki's own callout page carries a caveat worth repeating rather than smoothing over: "This map is still early in terms of community reception. These callouts are based on early community feedback and are likely to change over the following months." That line has been sitting on the page since Anubis's earlier CS:GO era. Given how much Valve moved around the map in January 2026, it is not obviously wrong today either.

Forty-seven markers on the callout map
The wiki's Map:Anubis data plots 47 markers on a 1024x1024 radar, with the origin at the bottom-left. They break down as:
| Marker type | Count |
|---|---|
| Bombsites | 2 |
| Spawns | 2 |
| Area callouts | 31 |
| Inner-site callouts | 12 |
| Total markers | 47 |
Forty-five of those are callout names rather than sites or spawns, carrying 46 distinct labels — because, exactly as on Ancient, Default is plotted twice, once inside each bombsite. Attach a site letter to it every time you use it.
Compared to Ancient's 30 markers, Anubis carries more than half again as many names, and they are spread across a bigger map: bombsite A sits at radar position (762, 749), bombsite B at (335, 517), T spawn all the way down at (491, 77), and CT spawn up at (432, 792). Sorting every non-site marker by its distance from T spawn produces a clean gradient — a handful of names close to T spawn, a cluster in the literal middle of the map, and a long tail of site-adjacent names close to CT spawn — which is the structure the tables below follow.

The A side
Eight markers sit tight against bombsite A — six inner-site names plus the two approaches the wiki's own prose names directly.
| Callout | Type | Distance from Bombsite A |
|---|---|---|
| Default | Inner-site | 23 units — the standard plant |
| Box | Inner-site | 63 units |
| A Heaven | Inner-site | 72 units — the walkway above the site the wiki's prose names as a Terrorist stronghold |
| Gate | Inner-site | 74 units |
| Plat | Inner-site | 102 units — the wiki's prose calls this an aggressive CT position |
| Walkway/Stairs | Inner-site | 110 units — Valve's own words for this are "Walkway" and "steps," see below |
| A Main | Area | 159 units — the direct Terrorist entrance from T spawn |
| A Connector | Area | 168 units — a Counter-Terrorist hold, per the wiki's Bombsite A prose |
Two Valve-confirmed details worth carrying into a callout call: the January 21, 2026 patch moved bombsite A's crates "up steps on to Walkway," and added scaffolding to "pillar on Bombsite A" — a detail that does not line up cleanly with the wiki's own marker data, covered in the disagreements section below.

The B side
Also eight markers — six inner-site names plus B Main and B Connector, the two Terrorist entrances the wiki's prose names outright.
| Callout | Type | Distance from Bombsite B |
|---|---|---|
| Default | Inner-site | 20 units — the standard plant |
| Ninja | Inner-site | 67 units |
| Back Site | Inner-site | 78 units |
| Pillar | Inner-site | 79 units — see the disagreements section; Valve separately names an A-site pillar |
| Dark/Ninja | Inner-site | 89 units — a second marker carrying "Ninja" in its name, see below |
| B Plat | Inner-site | 90 units |
| B Connector | Area | 115 units — also called Secret in the wiki's prose |
| B Main | Area | 156 units — the direct Terrorist entrance |
The wiki's Bombsite B prose describes two Counter-Terrorist retake pathways "that approach the bombsite from a similar direction," without naming them. Given the marker positions, Back Site, Pillar and Dark/Ninja are the closest candidates, but nothing on the page states that outright — noted again under What I could not verify.
Middle, connectors, and the walk from T spawn
The remaining 29 markers — 27 area callouts plus both spawns — sorted by distance from T spawn. Read top to bottom and it traces the route from the Terrorist spawn into the rest of the map.
| Callout | Distance from T spawn | Distance from CT spawn |
|---|---|---|
| T Spawn | 0 | 717 |
| Trash | 122 | 628 |
| Beans | 193 | 639 |
| Ruins | 217 | 514 |
| T Connector | 224 | 535 |
| T Bridge | 257 | 462 |
| Upper Long | 294 | 520 |
| Lower Long | 320 | 463 |
| Stairs | 335 | 512 |
| Street | 342 | 585 |
| Bridge | 343 | 382 |
| Canal | 350 | 388 |
| Arches | 376 | 425 |
| Mid Doors | 446 | 314 |
| Window/House | 460 | 270 |
| Water/Boat | 470 | 427 |
| Drop | 509 | 486 |
| Palace | 523 | 196 |
| Bricks | 534 | 214 |
| Middle | 536 | 237 |
| Palace Stairs | 556 | 162 |
| Alley | 584 | 209 |
| CT Mid | 606 | 149 |
| Headshot | 614 | 209 |
| Cave | 615 | 123 |
| Snipers Nest | 681 | 129 |
| CT Spawn | 717 | 0 |
| Tunnel/Sewer | 722 | 162 |
| Beach | 851 | 142 |
Two of these names carry Valve-confirmed history worth flagging inline. Mid Doors had its orientation reversed in the January 21, 2026 update — the same patch that moved a bridge drop near it — so any lineup or peek timing learned before that date needs re-checking. Drop is the marker Valve's February 4, 2026 patch calls "new drop," distinguishing it from an "old drop" the same note also references; the wiki's callout map has only the one Drop marker, so the "old" position either went unmapped or was folded into a neighbouring name.

The names Valve itself uses
When the wiki's callout map and Valve's own patch notes might disagree, Valve's own words win. These are the Anubis location names I found in Valve's Counter-Strike 2 release notes, opened directly through the Steam news API rather than a secondary source:
| Name | Where Valve used it |
|---|---|
| Bombsite B | October 25, 2023 — "Adjusted grenade clipping in and around bombsite B" |
| A-site | November 30, 2023 — "Fixed hole under pillar at A-site"; "Fixed some clipping on pillar at A-site" |
| b-site | November 30, 2023 — "Fixed clipping on doorway at b-site" (Valve's own capitalization is inconsistent with "A-site" in the same patch) |
| Connector | November 16, 2023 — "Fixed z-fighting on stairs in connector"; "Fixed missing collision at connector"; February 4, 2026 — "connector (e-box :P) hole" |
| Palace | November 30, 2023 — "Fixed clipping above walkway stairs in Palace" |
| Walkway / Heaven | January 4, 2024 — "Adjusted clipping at A site steps between Walkway and Heaven"; January 21, 2026 — crates moved "up steps on to Walkway" |
| Bridge | December 6, 2023 — "Added a grenade clip to the wall at Bridge"; January 21, 2026 — "Bridge drop moved near Mid Doors" |
| Mid doors | January 21, 2026 — "Mid doors orientation reversed" |
| Street | November 16, 2023 — "Fixed hole in world at street"; "Fixed vis issue on street looking back to t-spawn"; February 6, 2024 — "missing collision on steps at Street" |
| T spawn / T Start | February 6, 2024 — "utility does not fall out of world on top of structure at T Start"; February 15, 2024 — boost spot "by T spawn" |
| CT spawn | February 6, 2024 — "Improved vis at CT spawn"; "missing collision on stair geo at CT spawn" |
| Lower Tunnel | February 6, 2024 — "Fixed holes in world at Lower Tunnel" |
| Pillar(s) | August 3, 2023 — "collision around pillars"; November 30, 2023 — A-site pillar; February 6, 2024 — "collision on all pillars"; January 21, 2026 — "pillar on Bombsite A" |
| Drop (old / new) | February 4, 2026 — "Adjusted player clipping around new drop"; "grenade clipping around connector (e-box :P) hole and old drop" |
| E-box | January 21, 2026 — "Hole added between E-box and Back of B"; February 4, 2026 — "connector (e-box :P) hole" |
| Back of B | January 21, 2026 — "Hole added between E-box and Back of B" |
Fourteen of those sixteen have a reasonably clear marker match on the wiki's callout map. E-box does not — the same gap our Ancient callouts guide found with "house." And Lower Tunnel has no exact match either; the closest candidate by both name and position is the wiki's Tunnel/Sewer marker, 162 units from CT spawn, but nothing ties the two names together directly.
Where the wiki disagrees with itself — and with Valve
Five places where the Counter-Strike Wiki's Anubis data does not line up cleanly, checked against Valve's own patch text pulled through the Steam news API rather than the wiki's paraphrase of it.
1. The wiki misquotes Valve's own January 21, 2026 patch note. The wiki's Anubis update log records that entry as "Hole added between Connector and Back of B." Valve's actual release note, word for word, reads: "Hole added between E-box and Back of B." Connector and E-box are not the same word, and the wiki's version erases the one location name from that patch that has zero representation on its own callout map.
2. E-box has no marker at all. Valve has used the name twice in eight months — January 21 and February 4, 2026 — and it is not on the interactive callout map in any form, mapped or mislabeled.
3. Two different inner-site markers both carry "Ninja" in their name. "Ninja" sits 67 units from bombsite B; "Dark/Ninja" sits 89 units from bombsite B, closer to Back Site. Neither marker has a description attached, so there is no way to tell from the data alone whether these are two names for one spot, two related but distinct spots, or a plain duplication error.
4. Valve's pillar and the wiki's Pillar marker may not be the same pillar. The January 21, 2026 patch adds scaffolding to "pillar on Bombsite A." The wiki's callout map has exactly one marker named Pillar, and it sits 79 units from bombsite B — not A. Either bombsite A has a pillar the callout map never plotted, or the wiki's single Pillar marker is attached to the wrong site. I could not determine which from the sources available.
5. Lower Tunnel and Tunnel/Sewer may be the same place under different names. Valve's February 6, 2024 note fixes holes in world "at Lower Tunnel." The wiki's marker map has no location by that name — only "Tunnel/Sewer," 162 units from CT spawn. The positions are consistent with a match; nothing confirms it.
None of these are fatal to using the callout map day to day — it remains the most complete public reference for this vertical — but each is worth knowing about before repeating a name as gospel in a team callout.
The return that rewired the map
Anubis's second Active Duty run did not start with the map unchanged. The January 21, 2026 patch that added it back — replacing Train — carried five Anubis-specific changes in the same release notes: the bridge drop moved near Mid Doors, the mid doors' orientation reversed, a hole opened between E-box and the back of bombsite B, bombsite A's crates moved up onto Walkway, and scaffolding was added to the Bombsite A pillar. The very next day, January 22, 2026, Valve's notes add: "Radar minimap updated to match recent changes" — meaning the radar image itself, not just the geometry, changed to reflect the rework. Any callout screenshot or radar capture from before January 22, 2026 is showing a version of the map that no longer matches what ships.
Two weeks later, on February 4, 2026, a follow-up patch adjusted "player clipping around new drop" and "grenade clipping around connector (e-box :P) hole and old drop" — the clearest confirmation that Drop and E-box are both real, current locations tied to the January rework, distinguished from whatever existed at those spots before.
Since then: nothing. No Counter-Strike 2 release note between February 4, 2026 and today, September 4, 2026 — 212 days — carries an Anubis-specific entry, based on a full text search of Valve's Steam news archive for this app. That is the longest stretch of quiet the map has had inside its current Active Duty stint.
As our Active Duty map pool history piece already found, the Counter-Strike Wiki's own Anubis article still describes the map as removed from Active Duty in the July 2025 update, with no mention anywhere in its prose of the January 2026 return — even though the page's infobox correctly tags the map Active Duty today. That gap has not closed in the days since that piece published.
How to call it on Anubis
Four habits that follow from the data above, not from taste:
- Say E-box. It is the one name in Valve's own recent patch notes with no equivalent on the community callout map, and it sits at a spot — between Connector and the back of bombsite B — that a squad without the word will otherwise describe in four different ways.
- Re-check anything near Mid Doors, Bridge or Drop learned before January 21, 2026. All three moved or flipped in that single patch, and Drop specifically now has an "old" and a "new" version per Valve's own words.
- Name the plaza before the spot. Default exists at both bombsites, same as on Ancient; say A or B first.
- Treat "Ninja" and "Dark/Ninja" as one call until your team agrees otherwise. The wiki's data cannot tell you if they're different spots, so pick one meaning and stick to it rather than assuming everyone means the same thing.
The rest of the current Active Duty pool is covered in the CS2 Cache callouts guide, the CS2 Nuke callouts guide and the CS2 Dust 2 callouts guide. Everything else lives on the Counter-Strike 2 coverage hub, and the wider archive is on the Mythras blog.
What I could not verify
- Whether Ninja and Dark/Ninja name the same location on bombsite B or two different ones. The coordinates put them 34 units apart with no descriptions attached to either marker.
- Whether the wiki's single Pillar marker, plotted near bombsite B, is the same pillar Valve's January 21, 2026 patch note describes as being on Bombsite A — or whether Bombsite A has a second, unmapped pillar.
- Whether Lower Tunnel, Valve's own term from February 6, 2024, and Tunnel/Sewer, the wiki's marker name, refer to the same location. Position is consistent; nothing states it directly.
- The exact position of the "old drop" Valve's February 4, 2026 patch references alongside "new drop." Only one Drop marker exists on the callout map.
- Which two named locations make up the pair of Counter-Terrorist retake pathways the wiki's Bombsite B prose describes but does not name.
- Whether the wiki's disclaimer that Anubis callouts are "early" and "likely to change" reflects a recent edit or has simply carried over from the map's earlier CS:GO-era page without being revisited since the January 2026 rework.
- The Anubis middle capture used above was uploaded in September 2022, well before the January 2026 changes to Mid Doors and the Bridge drop it sits near — the geometry it shows around those two names is dated. The A-site and B-site captures and the overview shot were all uploaded January 22, 2026, the day after the rework and the same day Valve updated the radar art.
Quick Action Checklist
- Anubis is in the CS2 Active Duty pool as of today, 226 days into its second stint, which began January 21, 2026.
- The wiki's callout map holds 47 markers — 2 bombsites, 2 spawns, 31 area callouts and 12 inner-site names — carrying 46 distinct labels.
- Default appears at both bombsites. Always prefix it with A or B.
- Valve's own release notes name 16 Anubis locations; two of them — E-box and (probably) Lower Tunnel — have no clean marker match on the wiki's callout data.
- The wiki's own update log misquotes Valve's January 21, 2026 patch note, writing "Connector" where Valve wrote "E-box."
- Bridge, Mid Doors and Drop all changed in the January 21, 2026 update. Re-verify any lineup near them from before that date.
- Nothing has changed on Anubis since February 4, 2026 — 212 days of stability as of publication.
- Treat "Ninja" and "Dark/Ninja" as the same call until proven otherwise; the data cannot currently tell them apart.
