Genshin Impact Serenitea Pot Guide — Your Teapot Should Be Paying You Rent
Most players unlock the teapot at Adventure Rank 28, place three chairs, and never come back. That is a mistake with a number attached: a maxed-out Serenitea Pot generates 30 Realm Currency an hour, sells you a 60-resin refill every week, and grows ascension materials while you sleep.

The Teapot Is Not Just a Dollhouse
The Serenitea Pot has a reputation problem. Ask most players about it and you get some version of "oh, the housing thing" — a place they visited once in 2021, dropped a bed and a fence, and abandoned. And sure, if you want to spend forty hours building a replica of Mondstadt out of hedges, the teapot will happily let you.
But here is what the dollhouse crowd and the never-touch-it crowd both miss: the teapot is one of the few systems in Genshin that pays you for doing almost nothing. A properly set up realm generates Realm Currency at 30 per hour around the clock, sells you a 60-resin refill every single week for less than two days of that passive income, hands you 600 Primogems on the way to max Trust Rank, feeds you weekly Mora and EXP books and artifact fodder, and grows character ascension materials on a timer. None of that requires you to care about interior design even slightly.
If you already read our Genshin resin management guide, you know resin is the real bottleneck on every account. The teapot is the only place in the game where you can buy resin with a currency that accumulates while you sleep. That alone makes it worth twenty minutes of setup and five minutes a week forever.
Unlocking the Teapot
The unlock chain is simple but easy to sleep on. Hit Adventure Rank 28 and finish the Archon Quest A New Star Approaches (the end of the Liyue arc), and a new quest appears: A Teapot to Call Home: Part I. Complete it and Madame Ping hands you the Serenitea Pot gadget — a five-star gadget that has been in the game since Version 1.5.

Drop the gadget on any valid surface, interact with it, and you are inside your realm, greeted by Tubby, the teapot spirit who runs everything: furnishing crafting, the Realm Depot shop, and the currency payouts. Eight realm layouts exist — Floating Abode, Emerald Peak, Cool Isle, Silken Courtyard, Sublime Spicewood, Swirling Isles, Tletl Ilhuicatl, and Shadowflit Archipelago — though you start with a single realm and only unlock a second at Trust Rank 8 and a third at Trust Rank 10.
One quality-of-life note: friends can visit your teapot in co-op regardless of World Level, and if you flip the Guests option on your map to Allow Direct Join, they can drop in even while you are offline.
Trust Rank Is the Real Progression Track
Trust Rank is the teapot's account level, and it climbs in exactly one way: crafting furnishings you have never crafted before. Each first-time creation awards Trust; repeats give nothing. That design quietly tells you the optimal play — craft one of everything, always, and queue up new blueprints whenever Tubby is idle.
The full climb from Trust Rank 1 to 10 takes 10,900 Trust, and the early ranks come fast: 300 total gets you Rank 2, 900 gets Rank 3, 1,900 gets Rank 4, and every rank from 5 through 10 costs a flat 1,500 more. Each of the ten ranks pays out 60 Primogems — 600 total, nearly four wishes' worth of currency for crafting furniture. Where those Primogems should go is a question for our Genshin wish and gacha guide.
The Milestones That Matter
Not all ranks are equal. These are the ones that change how the teapot plays:
| Trust Rank | What actually unlocks |
|---|---|
| 2 | Fabric purchases open in the Realm Depot; currency cap 600 |
| 6 | Transient Resin appears in the weekly shop — the whole reason to rush |
| 7 | Two free mansions (Windward Manor and Exquisite Mansion) plus a third exterior area |
| 8 | Mora, Hero's Wit, Mystic Enhancement Ore, and artifact EXP hit the weekly shop; second realm unlocks |
| 10 | Currency cap 2,400, crafting queue of 15, 4 hours shaved off creation times, third realm |
Trust Rank 6 is the single most important line on that table. Everything before it is warm-up; everything after it is gravy. If your teapot is sitting at Rank 3 because you stopped crafting, you are locked out of the best weekly purchase in the game.
Your crafting queue grows with rank too — from a single slot at Rank 1 to 15 slots at Rank 10 — and friends can use Guest Assistance through Tubby to knock up to 4 hours off one of your builds per day. Each friend can only help one creation daily, but several different friends can each help you in the same day.
Adeptal Energy and the Jar of Riches
Every furnishing you place raises your realm's Adeptal Energy, and Adeptal Energy sets the rate at which the Jar of Riches accrues Realm Currency. The tiers run from Bare-Bones at 4 currency an hour all the way to Fit for a King at 30 an hour:
| Adeptal Energy | Tier | Realm Currency per hour |
|---|---|---|
| 0 | Bare-Bones | 4 |
| 2,000 | Humble Abode | 8 |
| 3,000 | Cozy | 12 |
| 4,500 | Queen-Size | 16 |
| 6,000 | Elegant | 20 |
| 8,000 | Exquisite | 22 |
| 10,000 | Extraordinary | 24 |
| 12,000 | Stately | 26 |
| 15,000 | Luxury | 28 |
| 20,000 | Fit for a King | 30 |
The difference between an ignored teapot and a maxed one is 4 an hour versus 30 an hour — a 7.5x gap in passive income for a one-time furnishing dump.
The 20,000 Target
Here is the detail that saves you enormous effort: the game reads the highest Adeptal Energy across all your unlocked realms, even if that realm is not currently active. You need exactly one realm at 20,000 to lock in the 30-per-hour rate forever. Build one ugly, dense, max-energy junkyard realm — nobody ever has to see it — and keep your pretty realm separate. Aesthetics and economics fully decoupled.
Load (the furnishing capacity meter) is the constraint to watch while you build. Big buildings, animals, characters, and interactable furnishings all eat disproportionate load, so a realm stuffed with mid-size decorations usually hits 20,000 energy more comfortably than one packed with mansions and pets.
Realm Currency and What to Buy First
Realm Currency piles up with Tubby and stops when it hits your cap — 2,400 at Trust Rank 10. At the max rate of 30 an hour, a full 2,400 accumulates in 80 hours, which means an ignored teapot starts wasting income in under three and a half days. Same trap as the resin cap: the generator keeps running only if you keep emptying it.

The weekly Realm Treasures shop is where the currency goes, and it is deliberately overstocked: buying literally everything costs 13,100 a week, while your maximum possible income is 5,040 (30 an hour, all week). You are meant to prioritize. Here is the full weekly menu with Trust Rank gates:
- Transient Resin — 1,200, one per week, Trust Rank 6. Buy this every week, no exceptions.
- Mora — 120 per bundle of 10,000, up to 20 bundles, Rank 8. That is 200,000 Mora a week for 2,400 currency.
- Hero's Wit — 120 each, up to 20, Rank 8. Character EXP for accounts still leveling.
- Wanderer's Advice — 60 per bundle of 10, up to 10 bundles, Rank 8.
- Mystic Enhancement Ore — 60 each, up to 40, Rank 8.
- Sanctifying Essence — 360 each, up to 5, Rank 8. Each one is 10,000 Artifact EXP, so the full five is 50,000 artifact EXP a week for 1,800 currency — real fuel for the grind in our Genshin artifact guide.
- Sanctifying Unction — 90 each, up to 20, Rank 8.
- Fabric — 10 per bundle of 5, Rank 2. Crafting material for furnishings.
After the resin, spend based on what your account is short on. Leveling new characters? Hero's Wit. Broke from talent books? Mora. Endgame artifact goblin? Sanctifying Essence first, Unction after. The one-time Riches of the Realm tab also sells Sub-Space Waypoints at 100 each — teleport points for your realm — and the gardening fields we will get to in a minute.
The Transient Resin Rule
Transient Resin restores 60 Original Resin or claims triple rewards at a Ley Line Blossom or Domain, exactly like Fragile Resin — with one brutal difference: it expires. The countdown starts from the Monday after you obtain it, and the resin vanishes seven days from that point. Each Transient Resin you get in different weeks expires independently.

So the rule is: buy it weekly, burn it weekly. Do not bank it for a double-drop event like you would Fragile Resin — it will rot in your inventory before the event arrives. At 1,200 currency against a max income of 5,040 a week, it costs you under two days of passive generation for 60 resin, which is the cheapest recurring resin source in the entire game. Sixty resin is eight hours of natural regeneration, every week, for logging into a teapot.
Chubby, the Friday Salesman
Every Friday at the 04:00 daily reset, a second teapot spirit named Chubby appears in your realm and stays through Monday 04:00. Chubby sells rotating furnishings and — the actual draw — Furnishing Blueprints that differ from player to player. From Saturday 04:00 you can also shop the Chubby in your friends' realms, which is the intended way to fill gaps in your blueprint collection: their stock is not your stock.
Two things to know before you treat it casually. First, blueprint variety by realm scales with Trust Rank — 6 types of goods at Rank 1, 7 at Rank 4, 8 at Rank 7 — so higher-rank friends have better shelves. Second, stock is shared per realm per weekend: when anyone buys an item from a given Chubby, that item becomes unavailable to every other visitor for the rest of the weekend. If you see a blueprint you need in a friend's shop on Saturday, buy it then, because it may be gone by Sunday. New blueprints mean new first-time crafts, which means more Trust — the whole loop feeds itself.
Gardening Turns the Teapot Into a Farm
Gardening is the teapot's most slept-on feature, and it is gated behind a quest most players never do: The Art of Horticulture, a World Quest that unlocks after you reach Inazuma Reputation Level 3. Finish it and you get the Seed Dispensary gadget plus a free Luxuriant Glebe field.
The mechanics are simple and generous. With the Seed Dispensary equipped, every plant you gather in the overworld also yields a seed. Seeds go into fields — sold by Tubby in the Riches of the Realm tab at 300 currency each, across three types (Jade Field, Luxuriant Glebe, Orderly Meadow) — with up to 4 seeds per field, and everything harvests after 2 days and 22 hours. Seeds are also sold directly in the Realm Depot's Creatures of the Realm tab for a trivial 5 currency apiece.
The payoff is character ascension materials on demand. Several of the growable plants are Local Specialties used for ascensions, and some seeds multiply: one Valberry seed grows a bush of 4 Valberries, Zaytun Peach yields 4, Jueyun Chili and Lumidouce Bell and Quenepa Berry yield 3 each, Silk Flower and Harra Fruit yield 2. If you have ever pre-farmed a character and come up twenty Valberries short, a garden that quietly grows them every three days is the fix — it pairs directly with the pre-farming playbook in our Genshin talent and ascension material guide.
One genuine gotcha: only the plants in your currently active realm grow. Swapping realm layouts pauses every crop in the realm you left (progress is kept, nothing is destroyed). So put your fields in the realm you actually keep active — ideally the same max-energy realm doing your currency generation.
Companions and Realm Bounty
After the short quest Idle Teapot Talk, you can move your playable characters into the teapot — any of them except the Traveler. Housed characters generate Companionship EXP over time through a system called Realm Bounty, at 2 to 5 per hour depending on your Adeptal Energy tier, with a storage cap that scales from 50 at Trust Rank 1 to 500 at Rank 10.

You can host up to 8 characters at the highest Trust Rank, and friendship levels — which normally only climb by spending resin on content with that character in your party — tick up passively for whoever lives in the pot. It is slow, but it is free, and for friendship-10 completionists it is the only idle option in the game. Bonus: some characters have favored Gift Sets, furnishing arrangements that trigger special dialogue and one-time rewards when you invite the right character to them. Characters do count toward your load budget, so a max-energy realm may prefer furnishings over roommates.
The Weekly Teapot Routine
Everything above compresses into a routine that costs five minutes:
- Collect from Tubby at least every three days. The 2,400 cap fills in 80 hours at max rate — treat it like the resin cap and never let it sit full.
- Buy Transient Resin every week at Trust Rank 6 or higher, and spend it within the week. It expires; Fragile Resin does not. Spend the Transient first, always.
- Spend leftover currency on your bottleneck — Mora, Hero's Wit, or Sanctifying Essence depending on the account.
- Check Chubby every Friday, and raid your friends' Chubbys on Saturday for blueprints you are missing.
- Replant your fields every three days — 2 days 22 hours per cycle, 4 seeds per field.
- Keep the crafting queue full of first-time furnishings until Trust Rank 10. Every new craft is Trust, and every rank is 60 Primogems.
That is the entire ask. No combat, no resin, no schedule stress — just a system that converts five weekly minutes into resin, Mora, EXP, artifact fodder, Primogems, and ascension materials. More Genshin systems coverage lives on the Genshin Impact coverage hub, and the rest of our guides are on the Mythras blog.
Quick Action Checklist
- Unlock at Adventure Rank 28: finish A New Star Approaches, then A Teapot to Call Home: Part I.
- Craft every furnishing once — first-time crafts are the only source of Trust; max rank takes 10,900 total and pays 600 Primogems.
- Rush Trust Rank 6 to unlock the weekly Transient Resin (1,200 Realm Currency).
- Build one realm to 20,000 Adeptal Energy for the max 30-per-hour currency rate — the highest realm counts even when inactive, so it can be ugly.
- Collect currency every 3 days; the 2,400 cap fills in 80 hours at max rate.
- Buy and burn Transient Resin weekly — it expires 7 days after the Monday following purchase.
- At Rank 8, budget leftovers across 200,000 weekly Mora, 20 Hero's Wit, and 5 Sanctifying Essence (10,000 Artifact EXP each).
- Shop Chubby Friday through Sunday, and friends' realms from Saturday — shared stock means first come, first served.
- Unlock gardening via The Art of Horticulture (Inazuma Reputation 3); fields cost 300 currency, seeds 5, harvest every 2 days 22 hours.
- House up to 8 characters for passive Companionship EXP at 2-5 per hour.
