Pokopia Expansion Pass Part 2: The Accessories Update
For seven weeks, Part 2 of the Pokopia Expansion Pass was one vague sentence about "additional new features." Nintendo finally showed what that sentence meant on September 9: sunglasses, bow ties, a Sylveon ribbon, and at least four Pokemon nobody has seen in this game before.
Part 2 of the Pokopia Expansion Pass has been a placeholder since June: a purchase you already made, for content nobody had described. Our own DLC breakdown called it "eleven words and a shrug." That changed on September 9, 2026, when The Pokemon Company published a trailer and a press release that finally say what you are getting.
It is smaller news than Bubbly Basin was, and it should be treated that way. But it is real, it is dated, and it replaces guesswork with an actual list.
The short version
Part 2 adds wearable accessories for Ditto and the Pokemon living in your town — sunglasses, bow ties, and species-styled items such as a Sylveon ribbon. Nintendo confirmed in writing back in August that Part 2 will not add a new town; the eShop listing saves that for Part 3, due in 2027. The trailer also puts at least four Pokemon on screen that do not exist in Pokopia today. Release is still dated only to "late 2026," and it ships inside the $34.99 Expansion Pass you may have already bought.
What Nintendo actually showed
The Pokemon.com news post announcing the trailer is short enough to quote directly: "Will you rock cool sunglasses, a playful Sylveon ribbon, or a charming bow tie? Luckily, you can dress up Ditto and your Pokemon neighbors, so you can try them all!" Nintendo's Singapore news post republishing the same trailer on September 16 sticks to that same accessories framing and doesn't add detail beyond it. The line worth sitting with is actually older: Nintendo's original August 3 teaser already said "In addition to the many accessories, additional furniture pieces and Pokemon will also appear" — a promise this trailer illustrates with specific items but does not repeat in writing.
That is the entire confirmed feature set: accessories on both the player character and on resident Pokemon, plus the furniture and new-Pokemon addition Nintendo flagged back in August. A new town will not be added in Part 2 — that line comes from the same August 3 teaser and has not been restated since, though the eShop listing is consistent with it: it saves "a new town to explore and rebuild" explicitly for Part 3. Exact accessory count and a firm release date are still undetailed.
The trailer stills do show the accessories in more variety than the press copy names outright — bows, ribbons and sunglasses turn up on Pikachu, Squirtle, Sylveon, Clefable and Decidueye alongside Ditto in the officially released screenshots, which is a wider showcase than "sunglasses, bow ties, ribbon" suggests on its own. None of those five are new; they are established Pokopia residents modelling the new wardrobe.
Four Pokemon nobody had on their list
Buried in the same trailer are Pokemon that are not established residents. Bulbapedia's tracking page for the Expansion Pass names four species pulled from the footage — Snubbull, Skitty, Doduo and Braixen — and Braixen is confirmed independently here too: it is visible, unmistakably, in the same official screenshot as the sunglasses and bow ties above.
None of the four show up in Serebii's 300-entry available-Pokemon list or its separate 50-entry Basin Pokedex, which cover the base game and Part 1 respectively. That is not proof Nintendo will formally add them to a dex — Part 2's own feature list has not been itemized yet — but it is consistent with all four being genuinely new to this game rather than pulled from the existing roster. Treat the species list as sourced to Bulbapedia's trailer analysis, not as a Nintendo-published roster; nobody has published one of those yet.
What Part 2 still does not include
No new town — confirmed by Nintendo in writing on August 3, and nothing published since has walked it back. No exact date beyond "late 2026" — Nintendo's Singapore, US and eShop copy all use that same phrase, and none has moved off it since the first mention in August. No price change: the Expansion Pass is still $34.99 on the eShop as of this writing, the same figure our DLC guide recorded in July, and the eShop listing states outright that the three parts cannot be purchased separately. No confirmation of how many accessories ship in total — the September 16 Nintendo post frames the trailer as a taste of "even more customisation options and fashionable combinations to discover," not a finished list.
Release window and price
If you already own the Expansion Pass, there is nothing to buy. It is a single $34.99 purchase covering all three parts as they release, and Nintendo's storefront is explicit that individual parts cannot be bought on their own. If you have been waiting to see whether Part 2 is worth the money before buying in, this trailer is the first evidence either way: it is cosmetics and new Pokemon encounters, not new terrain to build on. Whether that is worth $34.99 alongside Part 1 and the still-undated Part 3 is a judgment call this post is not going to make for you — Nintendo has not given you a full accessory list or a firm date to judge it against yet.
