Golden Cheese Cookie Toppings Build & Guide
Golden Cheese is the Ancient nobody quite knows how to gear, so half the playerbase slaps cooldown on her and calls it done. She's a stacking-spear nuke whose damage already ignores DMG Resist — which means the topping sheet is about feeding the snowball, not patching it. Here's the build: toppings, substats, beascuit, Magic Candy, the Immortal Awakened form, and where she actually wins.

Golden Cheese is the Ancient people gear like they're guessing — a little cooldown here, some ATK there, maybe a DMG Resist topping because "she's frontish?" and then they wonder why she does laundry-day damage. She isn't a tank, she isn't a bruiser, and she isn't a support. She's a stacking-spear artillery piece who builds her own damage ceiling mid-fight, and the single most important thing to know about her kit is that her spears already punch through DMG Resist. That one fact bends the whole build sheet: you're not buying penetration with toppings, you're feeding the snowball that's already rolling.
This is the June 2026 build sheet for her: toppings, substats, beascuit, tart, Magic Candy, the Immortal Awakened form, team fit, and the mistakes that bury one of the highest-ceiling Ancients in the game. Where the community has invented exact substat roll-targets, I'll give you the direction instead of a fake number — because the wrong number gets copy-pasted forever, and the direction is what actually moves a build. Check the live values in-game for your region and patch.
Who Golden Cheese actually is

Get the identity right before you spend a single topping. Golden Cheese Cookie is Ancient rarity — one of the five original Ancients alongside Pure Vanilla, Hollyberry, Dark Cacao, and White Lily — and her role is Ranged, positioned on the Middle line. Her element is Earth. She was the fourth Ancient released, on September 26, 2023, the goddess-queen of the lost golden city.
Her skill, Spears of Radiance, is the entire reason you build her the way you do. She hurls a volley of spears that deal damage multiple times, and crucially, those hits ignore a chunk of enemy DMG Resist — the wiki lists her single-hit spear damage as ignoring 30% DMG Resist, and her big Spear of the Absolute finisher ignoring 40%. Better still, for each enemy she defeats, she gains an extra Spear of Radiance, scaling up to 12 spears total when she's mowing through a crowded enemy line. That's a kit that gets stronger the more it kills — a snowball, not a flat nuke.
She also carries the toolkit you'd expect from an Ancient with a "goddess" theme: a portion of her damage is True DMG scaling off Max HP, she reduces enemy CRIT Chance, and her kit ties into a sarcophagus/shield-and-revive aspect through her Soul Jam. As an Ancient she has always-on passives too. But for build purposes, lock onto the two things that matter: her damage scales with ATK and the number of spears, and it already ignores DMG Resist. That's the cookie you're gearing.
Why her damage ignores the usual tank math
Here's the fork that decides her whole topping sheet. On most DPS cookies you have to think about whether the enemy front line is too tanky — high DMG Resist eats your damage, so penetration matters. Golden Cheese partly sidesteps that conversation, because her spears come with DMG Resist Bypass baked into the skill. Her listed core stats are literally DMG Resist Bypass, ATK, Cooldown, and Earth DMG, in that order. The kit is telling you what it wants.
So the build isn't about fixing a weakness — it's about amplifying a strength. You want her hitting harder per spear (ATK) and getting more total spears off (which means cooldown so she re-casts, and survivability so she lives long enough to start the kill-chain that adds spears). She is a damage dealer who manufactures her own scaling, and toppings exist to make that scaling steeper.
This is also why pure tank toppings on her are a waste: stacking DMG Resist makes her a slightly chunkier middle-liner who still deals mediocre damage. She doesn't need to be hard to kill the way a front-liner does — she needs to be a nuke that survives the opening burst. Build the artillery, not the bunker.
The standard Golden Cheese topping build

5x ATK toppings (the Searing Raspberry set). That's the backbone, and for the general DPS case it isn't close.
The standard:
- Toppings: 5x Searing Raspberry (ATK)
- Beascuit: an ATK-priority beascuit, ideally one that leans into her Earth element
- Tart: an ATK or cooldown tart depending on which build you run
- Magic Candy: equipped and leveled
The reason ATK wins is everything above: her spears scale off ATK, her finisher scales off ATK, and the more damage each spear does, the faster she clears enemies — which is what adds more spears. The 5-piece Searing Raspberry set bonus hands you even more ATK on top. Because her skill already ignores a big slice of DMG Resist, you don't need to spend slots chasing penetration; you spend them making each hit bigger. There's a legitimate cooldown-leaning lane (below) for spammier content, but if you only build her one way, build her for ATK.
If you're new to how topping sets and substats interact, the toppings guide covers the fundamentals this build assumes.
Substat priorities without the fake numbers
Substats are where most of a build's quality lives, and where the CRK community most loves to invent exact percentages nobody can verify. No fake "you need exactly 87.4% ATK" target here — just the honest priority order:
- ATK — the priority, on as many toppings as you can manage. Every point makes each spear hit harder, which both raises her ceiling and speeds up the kills that add spears. Push it as high as it'll go.
- Cooldown — your secondary. Her whole snowball only spins while she's skilling; faster cooldown means more volleys per fight and more chances to start the kill-chain. On spammy content this can edge close to ATK in value.
- CRIT — a real third stat for her. Spears that crit hit dramatically harder, and on a high-hit-count nuke the crit rolls add up fast. If your ATK and cooldown are healthy, leaning some substats into CRIT is a legitimate squeeze for more damage.
The practical rule: roll for ATK first, take cooldown where you can, and treat CRIT as the bonus stat that turns a good build into a great one. Don't reroll forever chasing a fraction of a percent — get her ATK high, get a couple of cooldown rolls, and ship her.
The cooldown-leaning alternate
There's a real second lane worth knowing: a 3 Searing Raspberry + 2 Swift Chocolate split that trades two ATK slots for cooldown. It's the same hybrid pattern that suits a lot of skill-reliant DPS cookies — the ones whose value lives almost entirely in their active.
When is it worth it? In content where fights run long enough to fit several extra casts, or where you want her volley back up for the next pull of enemies, the extra cooldown can out-damage the last couple points of flat ATK by simply firing more spears overall. The trade-off is a lower per-spear ceiling, so it shines more in sustained/wave content than in a single burst window. It's the situational pick, not the default — pure raspberry is simpler and hits a higher peak — but if you find her active is the bottleneck, the 3+2 is a legitimate lane. Pick one and commit; don't smear two cooldown rolls across a raspberry set and call it a hybrid.
Beascuit pick — ATK and Earth
The beascuit slot follows the same logic as the toppings: prioritize ATK, and where you can, lean into her Earth element. ATK feeds every spear, and an Earth-flavored beascuit scales the damage type her kit is built around.
Stat priority on the beascuit: ATK > Cooldown > CRIT. Damage first because that's her job, cooldown for more volleys, CRIT for the high-hit-count payoff. A high-quality beascuit is the ceiling, but any beascuit you can stack ATK on does the core work. Don't bring a tank-stat beascuit (HP or DMG Resist) to Golden Cheese — she isn't trying to soak hits, she's trying to delete the enemy line before it matters.
Tart and treasure picks
Two routes, matched to your topping build:
ATK tart for the standard raspberry build. Anything that makes her spears hit harder stacks straight into her ceiling. A damage tart is the default here.
Cooldown tart for the cooldown-leaning build. If you've gone 3+2 for more volleys, a cooldown tart pushes that lane further. Don't mix a cooldown tart into a pure-ATK set unless you've deliberately chosen the spam route — pick a lane.
For treasures, the through-line holds: lead with damage-amplifying treasures, and a battle-start cooldown treasure is genuinely strong on her because it gets her first volley out during the opening window — the sooner she starts killing, the sooner she starts adding spears. The treasures guide covers the current best-in-slot options and how they stack. Confirm the current values in-game, since treasure tuning shifts between patches.
Magic Candy for Golden Cheese
Magic Candy deepens a kit that's already one of the better Ancient damage profiles, and on an ATK-and-cooldown build it compounds with everything else you've stacked — more damage, smoother volley cadence, or both depending on what the candy reinforces. For a damage dealer you keep in serious teams, she's a strong feed.
That's the honest framing: damage dealers generally pay off Magic Candy faster than tanks or situational supports, and Golden Cheese is squarely a damage dealer, so she's a good candy investment relative to, say, a pure wall. Still, weigh her against the rest of your carries — get it equipped and leveled to a functional baseline first, then push it higher once she's earning a guaranteed slot. The Magic Candy priority guide has the framework for where she should sit relative to the rest of your roster.
The Immortal Awakened form

Golden Cheese has an Awakened form — Golden Cheese Cookie (Immortal), rarity Awakened Ancient. It's a separate, more powerful version of her, and if you've awakened her, it's the one you run. Same Ranged identity, but the kit gets a major upgrade that leans into the immortality/revive theme her base form only hints at.
Because the Awakened form keeps her core damage-dealer job, the build philosophy doesn't flip — she's still an ATK-first cookie. The practical translation: keep ATK as the lead substat, cooldown as the secondary, and let CRIT ride along, exactly as you would on base Golden Cheese, with a beascuit and tart that reinforce damage. The Awakened-specific tuning (and whether her revive/durability tools nudge you toward a touch more cooldown for uptime) is the kind of thing worth confirming against the current in-game numbers for your region, since Awakened skills get tuned over time. If you're working toward awakening her, the Awakening guide covers the process and the resources it costs.
Team comps and where she fits
Golden Cheese is a carry, full stop — her job is to nuke the enemy line, and the team exists to keep her firing:
- Middle line: that's her home. Behind a front line, in range to rain spears, safe from the worst of the opening melee. Don't shove her up front to "tank" — she'll just die early and waste her snowball.
- A front line to protect her: her whole payoff is volleys, and volleys need time. Pair her with a real wall — a DMG Resist tank from the tank tier list like Hollyberry buys her the windows she needs. The longer she lives, the more spears she throws.
- A healer or amplifier behind her: sustain keeps the volleys coming, and a damage amplifier turns her already-high ceiling into a finisher. The support tier list covers the buffers worth a slot.
She slots into the burst-damage shells the Kingdom Arena meta team and the best PvE teams lay out, and because her spears ignore DMG Resist, she's especially valuable into enemy comps stacked with tanky front-liners that blunt your other carries. As an Ancient she also rates highly on the best Ancient cookies ranked list and the broader DPS tier list — she's a top-end damage option when geared correctly.
Common Golden Cheese build mistakes
In rough order of how often they show up:
-
Building her tanky. She sits middle, near the front, so people reach for HP or DMG Resist. Wrong cookie for it — she's a Ranged nuke. ATK first, always.
-
Chasing DMG Resist Bypass with toppings. Her skill already ignores a big slice of DMG Resist; you don't need to buy penetration. Spend those slots on ATK that makes each spear bigger.
-
A tank-stat beascuit. Same mistake, different slot. The beascuit is an ATK-and-Earth slot. She isn't trying to soak hits.
-
Smearing cooldown across a raspberry set without committing. If you want more volleys, run the deliberate 3+2 split — don't half-and-half it. Pick a lane.
-
Running base Golden Cheese when you've awakened her. If you have the Immortal form, run it — it's a strictly stronger version of the same carry.
-
Putting her up front to "use" her durability tools. Her snowball needs her alive and firing from range. Front row gets her bursted before she stacks a single extra spear.
Quick Action Checklist
- Equip 5x Searing Raspberry (ATK) as the standard build
- Prioritize ATK substats, then Cooldown, then CRIT — and don't reroll forever
- The 3 Searing Raspberry + 2 Swift Chocolate split is the situational pick for more volleys
- Run an ATK-priority beascuit, ideally one that leans into her Earth element
- Pair a damage tart with the raspberry build; a cooldown tart with the split
- Lead with damage-amp and battle-start cooldown treasures (confirm current values in-game)
- Equip and level Magic Candy — she's a strong damage-dealer candy investment
- Don't waste slots buying DMG Resist Bypass; her spears already ignore a big chunk of it
- If you've awakened her (Immortal), run that form and keep building ATK-first
- Keep her on the middle line behind a real front line; never push her up to tank
