Elden Ring Tarnished Pack: Every Weapon and Armor Location
Patch 1.17's notes never name the Tarnished Pack's weapons. Here are all eight armaments, the four armor sets and the three Torrent attires, where each one sits, what stands in front of it, the two invaders who carry two of the sets, and the one set you can lock yourself out of.

Patch 1.17's notes give the Tarnished Pack's weapons one line, and it names none of them: "Added weapons that can be purchased from merchants or found in the Lands Between." Bandai Namco's own pack FAQ lists two starting classes, three Torrent skins and four armor sets. The weapons do not even get a count.
Six weeks after the pack went on sale, the guides have filled the gap. Fextralife, Game Rant, PC Gamer and GamesRadar cover the same gear between them: eight armaments (six weapons and two shields), the four armor sets the FAQ promised, and three Torrent attires. Two invaders carry two of those armor sets and the weapons that go with them, and one of those invasions can be missed for good. Four of the eight armaments belong to weapon types that, before 28 August 2026, only existed in Shadow of the Erdtree.
This is the where-and-what guide. The two new origins, the €4.99 price and the 1.17 balance changes are in our Tarnished Pack classes guide.
Every Tarnished Pack item, and what stands in front of it
Roughly in the order the map opens up:
| # | Item | Type | Where | What gates it |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Hefty Scimitar | Curved Greatsword | Bought from the Nomadic Merchant northwest of Fort Haight, reached from the Fort Haight West grace, east Limgrave | Nothing |
| 2 | Steel Armor Set | Heavy Knight armor, 4 pieces | Bought from the Isolated Merchant at the Isolated Merchant's Shack, west Weeping Peninsula | Nothing |
| 3 | Reverse-Bladed Sword | Backhand Blade | Bought from the Twin Maiden Husks, Roundtable Hold (1,000 runes, per Fextralife) | Reaching the Roundtable Hold |
| 4 | Tree Sentinel Spectral Steed Attire | Torrent skin | Chest in the room through the right-hand doorway behind Godrick's throne, Stormveil Castle | Godrick dead |
| 5 | Idus Sword | Light Greatsword | Corpse by a tree in the shallows northwest of the Liurnia Lake Shore grace | Nothing |
| 6 | Silver Grooved Set and Silver Grooved Shield | Idus Knight armor, 4 pieces, plus a Medium Shield | Bought from the Nomadic Merchant north of Bellum Church, Liurnia | Nothing |
| 7 | Silver of Caria Spectral Steed Attire | Torrent skin | Chest inside Ranni's Rise, near the tower's Site of Grace | Royal Knight Loretta dead |
| 8 | Ritual Thrusting Shield | Thrusting Shield | Corpse on the benches inside the Caelid Colosseum's entrance, behind the giant jar | The Siofra River lift up to the Deep Siofra Well (two Stonesword Keys, per PC Gamer) |
| 9 | Reed Great Katana | Great Katana | Corpse on top of a pale mound beside Elder Dragon Greyoll, a ride north of the Fort Faroth grace | Reaching Dragonbarrow |
| 10 | Leontiel's Greatsword and Leontiel's Armor Set | Greatsword, plus 4 pieces | Dropped by the invader Knight Leontiel, north of the Starscourge Radahn grace | Starscourge Radahn dead |
| 11 | Funereal Night Spectral Steed Attire | Torrent skin | By a small sword at the sword memorial southeast of the Hermit Merchant's Shack grace, Capital Outskirts | Reaching the Capital Outskirts |
| 12 | Golden Order Flail and Golden Order Set | Flail, plus 4 pieces | Dropped by the invader Noble Broken Mask at the Radagon statue in Leyndell, Royal Capital | Law of Regression; missable once Leyndell turns to ash |
The table follows Fextralife, PC Gamer and Game Rant, which put each row in the same area; their step-by-step directions differ in places, such as whether the Ranni's Rise chest is downstairs or up the first flight. The official patch notes only give a region for the three attires and the two invasions. GamesRadar is the one outlier: it puts the Silver Grooved Set with a merchant at the Liurnia Lake Shore grace. Three sources say north of Bellum Church, so start there.
A few things fall out of the table:
- None of it needs Shadow of the Erdtree. All twelve rows sit on the base-game map. Game Rant notes you do need the pack itself, or the Switch 2 Tarnished Edition, for any of it to appear.
- The class gear does not need the class. Rows 1, 2, 5 and 6 are the Heavy Knight's and Idus Knight's starting kits, sold or lying in the world. The patch notes promise exactly that.
- Rows 10 and 12 are fights, not pickups. Both are NPC invasions. Only the Leyndell one has a published cut-off.
- Row 8 is the awkward walk. Fandom's Caelid Colosseum page routes you up from the Siofra River to the Deep Siofra Well, then north through a ravine guarded by Guardian Golem archers. PC Gamer says the lift at the end of the Siofra River takes two Stonesword Keys.
Four of the eight are Shadow of the Erdtree weapon types
Fandom's weapon-class pages make this easy to check. Before the pack, every member of four armament types was tagged as Shadow of the Erdtree content:
| Type | Expansion members | Tarnished Pack addition |
|---|---|---|
| Light Greatswords | Milady, Leda's Sword, Rellana's Twin Blades | Idus Sword |
| Great Katanas | Great Katana, Dragon-Hunter's Great Katana, Rakshasa's Great Katana | Reed Great Katana |
| Backhand Blades | Backhand Blade, Smithscript Cirque, Curseblade's Cirque | Reverse-Bladed Sword |
| Thrusting Shields | Dueling Shield, Carian Thrusting Shield | Ritual Thrusting Shield |
PC Gamer's guide flagged three of them, the backhand blade, the thrusting shield and the great katana, in August. If you own the base game and not the expansion, those four are the first of their type you can hold, and all four sit in Liurnia, Caelid or the Roundtable Hold.
The Reed Great Katana is the interesting one on paper. Set its published numbers against Fandom's page for the expansion's Great Katana and the Tarnished Pack version hits harder at +0 and asks for less:
| Reed Great Katana | Great Katana (Shadow of the Erdtree) | |
|---|---|---|
| Physical attack at +0 | 158 | 145 |
| Requirements | 11 Str / 16 Dex | 14 Str / 18 Dex |
| Scaling | D / D | D / D |
| Weight | 10.0 | 10.5 |
| Blood loss buildup | 55 | 55 |
| Skill | Overhead Stance | Overhead Stance |
Its upgrade path is the loose end. Fextralife's infobox lists the upgrade material as "n/a", while the same page's table shows a single +25 row (387 physical) with every step before it blank, so treat any full-upgrade comparison between the two as unconfirmed.
The eight armaments, side by side
Base figures from Fextralife's item pages. Game Rant publishes the same numbers, with one exception noted under the table. "Not listed" means Fextralife's infobox gives no upgrade material.
| Armament | Type | Damage | Attack at +0 | Scaling | Requires | Weight | Skill (FP) | Upgrades with |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Idus Sword | Light Greatsword | Standard / Pierce | 124 physical | Str D, Dex D | 10 Str, 15 Dex | 7.0 | Impaling Thrust (9) | Smithing Stones |
| Hefty Scimitar | Curved Greatsword | Slash | 135 physical | Str D, Dex D | 13 Str, 11 Dex | 9.5 | Spinning Slash (6) | Smithing Stones |
| Reed Great Katana | Great Katana | Slash / Pierce, 55 blood loss | 158 physical | Str D, Dex D | 11 Str, 16 Dex | 10.0 | Overhead Stance | Not listed |
| Reverse-Bladed Sword | Backhand Blade | Slash / Pierce | 115 physical | Str D, Dex D | 9 Str, 11 Dex | 3.0 | Blind Spot (9) | Not listed |
| Leontiel's Greatsword | Greatsword | Standard / Pierce | 130 physical | Str E, Dex C | 13 Str, 26 Dex | 9.5 | Muleta (10) | Somber Smithing Stones |
| Golden Order Flail | Flail | Strike | 75 physical, 92 holy | Str E, Dex E, Fai C | 9 Str, 16 Dex, 26 Fai | 5.0 | Causality's Wrath (24) | Somber Smithing Stones |
| Ritual Thrusting Shield | Thrusting Shield | Standard / Pierce | 135 physical | Str D, Dex D | 13 Str, 12 Dex | 9.0 | Shield Strike | Not listed |
| Silver Grooved Shield | Medium Shield | Strike | 61 physical, guards 100% physical | Str D | 9 Str, 12 Dex | 3.0 | No Skill | Not listed |
The exception is the Ritual Thrusting Shield's weight: Fextralife says 9.0, Game Rant says 10. Check your equipment screen before you plan a roll budget around it.
Read down the columns and a few picks sort themselves:
- Leontiel's Greatsword wants 26 Dexterity, the highest Dexterity requirement of the eight, and its unique skill is Muleta. Fextralife describes it as holding out a red cloth, sidestepping an incoming strike with a normal or strong attack, then countering; the strong follow-up can be charged. It is a Somber weapon, so Muleta is the skill it keeps.
- The Golden Order Flail is the only Faith weapon here. 92 of its 167 base attack is holy, it scales C in Faith, and it needs 26 Faith to swing properly. Its skill, Causality's Wrath, primes a counter that you release with a second input.
- The Silver Grooved Shield blocks 100% of physical damage at 3.0 weight and comes with no skill attached.
- The Idus Sword fits the Dex origins out of the box. At 10 Strength and 15 Dexterity it is wieldable from the start by an Idus Knight, a Samurai or a Warrior.
The four armor sets
| Set | Pieces | Weight | Poise | Physical negation | Immunity / Robustness / Focus / Vitality | Where |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Steel Armor Set | Steel Helm, Armor, Gauntlets, Greaves | 43.8 | 77 | 36.3% | 97 / 180 / 77 / 87 | Isolated Merchant, Weeping Peninsula |
| Silver Grooved Set | Silver Grooved Helm, Armor, Gauntlets, Greaves | 16.9 | 33 | 21.6% | 59 / 96 / 34 / 35 | Nomadic Merchant north of Bellum Church |
| Leontiel's Armor Set | Leontiel's Hat, Armor, Leather Gloves, Boots | 18.1 | 18 | 23.1% | 54 / 97 / 28 / 33 | Knight Leontiel's drop |
| Golden Order Set | Broken Gold Mask, Gold Tattoo (Chest), (Arm), (Leg) | 8.3 | 12 | 9.5% | 91 / 30 / 29* / 142 | Noble Broken Mask's drop |
The totals are summed from the per-piece figures, which Fextralife and Game Rant publish identically for the first three sets. For the Golden Order Set, Fextralife's Gold Tattoo (Arm) row is shifted one column out of line, so that row uses Game Rant's figures. Physical negation is combined piece by piece the way the game stacks it (multiplied, not added). Two of the rows check out against independent sources. The Steel totals match Fextralife's own set summary to the decimal. The Silver Grooved totals match the starting-equipment figures on Fandom's Idus Knight page: 33 poise, 59 / 96 / 34 / 35, and 21.566% physical.
*The Golden Order Set's Focus is the shaky number. Fextralife prints 0 for all three Gold Tattoo pieces and Game Rant leaves the cell blank, so 29 is the mask alone. GamesRadar says the set raises Faith and lowers Focus, and Fextralife's set page credits it with +4 Faith. Neither says which piece carries the bonus. Read that row as provisional.
Even with that caveat, the set's shape is clear: the lightest of the four by a distance, the lowest poise, and a Vitality total of 142, the highest of the four.
The Steel set is the defensive pick. Against the base game's Knight Set, which Fextralife lists at 25.3 weight and 51 poise, it adds 26 poise and about 12 points of physical negation for 18.5 more weight. What poise actually buys you is in the stance-break guide.
The Steel set puts its own class in heavy load
This is arithmetic, not a published figure, but every input is published. Fextralife's equip load formula gives 59.3 maximum load at 17 Endurance, the Heavy Knight's starting value. The Steel set (43.8) plus the Hefty Scimitar (9.5) is 53.3. That is 89.9% load, which is heavy-roll territory: the equip load guide puts the line at 70.0%, where your roll loses an i-frame and its recovery doubles from 8 frames to 16.
Two ways out:
- Level Endurance to 29. That raises the maximum to 76.4, and 53.3 becomes 69.8%. It costs twelve levels.
- Take off the helm and gauntlets. That removes 14.0 weight and leaves 39.3, or 66.3% at 17 Endurance, a medium roll. The armor and greaves still carry 54 of the set's 77 poise.
The Idus Knight has no such problem. Its whole kit (16.9 of armor, the Idus Sword and the shield) weighs 26.9 against Fandom's published 49.8 maximum, about 54%.
Knight Leontiel, after Radahn

You meet Leontiel twice. During the Radahn Festival she is one of the nine champions you can summon, a roster Fandom's Starscourge Radahn page lists with the Tarnished Pack note beside her name. The Radahn boss guide covers that fight. After Radahn is dead she comes back as an invader, and that is the fight that pays.
The trigger, as Fextralife, PC Gamer and Game Rant describe it:
- Beat Starscourge Radahn, and rest at the Starscourge Radahn Site of Grace that appears in the Wailing Dunes.
- Ride north toward the ruined stone pillars and the War-Dead Catacombs.
- The invasion fires somewhere along that northern stretch. Fextralife says there is no single trigger spot and that Torrent is dismissed when she arrives.
Fandom's page for her is still a stub, but it lists 4,000 HP and 10,000 runes. Kill her and all five items drop at once: Leontiel's Hat, Armor, Leather Gloves and Boots, and Leontiel's Greatsword. Fextralife and PC Gamer both read the set as a nod to Lucatiel of Mirrah from Dark Souls II, and the red cloth is what the Muleta skill waves.
The patch notes put no cut-off on the Caelid event. The only gate is Radahn himself, which on a fresh character also means triggering the Festival first.
Noble Broken Mask: the set you can miss
The Leyndell invasion is the one with conditions, and you should plan for it before the capital burns.
How to trigger it. From the Erdtree Sanctuary Site of Grace in Leyndell, Royal Capital, head out and down the stairs, take the lift down, and keep descending to the large statue of Radagon. Stand on the message in front of it and cast Law of Regression. When the statue changes, Noble Broken Mask invades. That is the same statue reveal Goldmask's questline asks for, and the endings guide walks the whole chain.
What it costs to cast. Law of Regression needs 37 Intelligence and no Faith, per Fandom, and it is sold by Brother Corhyn or Miriel once one of them has the Golden Order Principia. The Golden Order Flail you are after wants 26 Faith. If your character cannot carry both, a temporary respec at Rennala bridges the gap, at a Larval Tear per Rebirth, so two if you respec there and back.
The cut-off. The 1.17 patch notes state that the event will not occur once Leyndell has become the Ashen Capital, which happens after Maliketh dies. That makes the Golden Order Flail and Golden Order Set the only gear in the pack with a published cut-off.
The grey area. The guides disagree about a statue that is already revealed. GamesRadar says that if you have already done that step of Goldmask's questline, Noble Broken Mask invades as you approach the statue, and PC Gamer expects the same, or a recast to do it. Fextralife warns that on a save where the statue was revealed before the 1.17 update, the invasion may not trigger at all. If it does not fire for you, that caveat is the likely reason, so keep a backup save from before Maliketh's death if you have one.
The drop is the Golden Order Flail plus the Broken Gold Mask and the three Gold Tattoo pieces. Fextralife's invader page also stresses that this is not Goldmask, despite the shared gold. One more inconsistency, if you are trying to read Causality's Wrath during the fight: Fextralife's skill text says its counter grows with the damage you take, while its invader page says it charges by the number of hits. Either way, the advice is the same: stop swinging into the aura.
The three Torrent attires, exact spots
The official names and the names the guides use do not match, which makes searching for them harder than it should be:
| Official name (patch 1.17) | Also called | Exact spot | Gate |
|---|---|---|---|
| Tree Sentinel Spectral Steed Attire | Spectral Steed Regalia: Tree Sentinel | Chest in the room through the right-hand doorway behind Godrick's throne, Stormveil Castle | Godrick dead |
| Silver of Caria Spectral Steed Attire | Carian Silver | Chest inside Ranni's Rise, near the tower's Site of Grace | Royal Knight Loretta dead |
| Funereal Night Spectral Steed Attire | Spectral Steed Regalia: Funereal Night; "Night's Cavalry" in PC Gamer's jump links | Next to a small sword at the sword memorial on the cliff edge, southeast of the Hermit Merchant's Shack grace | Reaching the Capital Outskirts |

Pick up any one of them and the patch notes say a change-appearance option is added to the Site of Grace menu. Fextralife's attire page says the change is cosmetic only: no effect on Torrent's speed, health or anything else.
Two notes on routing. The Tree Sentinel chest sits in a room PC Gamer says was empty before the pack, and its guide says you should be able to backtrack for it on an old save that killed Godrick long ago. The Silver of Caria chest is inside Ranni's Rise, and the Three Sisters stay closed until Royal Knight Loretta is dead, the same gate the Memory Stone guide runs into at Seluvis's Rise.

What the wikis still get wrong
Six weeks in, the pages for this gear are still thin, and some of them carry copy-paste slips. As of 11 October 2026:
- Fandom has no item pages for any of the eight armaments or four sets. Its weapon-type galleries list seven of the eight (the Reed Great Katana is missing from its Great Katanas page), and each of those links is a dead end with no page behind it.
- Fextralife's Hefty Scimitar upgrade table is headed "Golden Order Flail". Treat the upgrade tables for the new weapons as placeholders until they stop looking borrowed.
- Fextralife's Ritual Thrusting Shield page describes the Carian Thrusting Shield's scaling, Intelligence included. Its own infobox lists Strength and Dexterity only, and Game Rant agrees with the infobox.
- Fextralife calls Overhead Stance unique to the Reed Great Katana. Fandom lists Overhead Stance as an existing Shadow of the Erdtree Ash of War, and it is the expansion Great Katana's default skill.
- Fextralife's Silver Grooved Shield infobox gives the Church of Elleh as its location, while the same page's text and Game Rant both point to the merchant north of Bellum Church.
None of those changes where anything is. They do mean the upgrade and scaling-growth numbers for this gear are not worth building a spreadsheet on yet.
Quick Action Checklist
- Buy the Hefty Scimitar and the Steel set early. Both merchants are in Limgrave and the Weeping Peninsula, with nothing in the way.
- Pick up the Reverse-Bladed Sword at the Roundtable Hold if you want a backhand blade without Shadow of the Erdtree. Fextralife prices it at 1,000 runes.
- Grab the Idus Sword in south Liurnia and the Silver Grooved Set and shield from the merchant north of Bellum Church.
- Loot the Ritual Thrusting Shield and the Reed Great Katana in Caelid, at the Colosseum entrance and beside Greyoll.
- Ride north from Radahn's grace after he dies to trigger Knight Leontiel for her greatsword and full set.
- Cast Law of Regression at the Radagon statue before Maliketh dies. Noble Broken Mask's flail and set are gone once Leyndell is the Ashen Capital.
- Budget 37 Intelligence for that cast and 26 Faith for the flail, and plan a Rebirth in between if one build cannot hold both.
- Strip the helm and gauntlets if you are a Heavy Knight who wants a medium roll at 17 Endurance.
- Collect any one Torrent attire to unlock the appearance option at Sites of Grace.
