Gundam Card Game Sleeves, Dice and Accessories Guide

All seven sleeve products on Bandai's English product list hold 70 sleeves - a 50-card deck, a 10-card best-of-three sideboard and ten spares. Here is every sleeve, dice, case and playmat product on Bandai's English list, how the tournament rules want your resource deck and tokens sleeved, how many dice a game needs, and which accessory boxes hide tournament-legal cards.

Bandai's sample image of Official Card Sleeves EX 02 [EVX10], four sleeve designs in a two-by-two grid, each with the GUNDAM CARD GAME logo in its lower-left corner: two young women sorting clothes with a third behind them on a pink-bordered sleeve, an orange-haired girl eating a chocolate sundae on a red-bordered sleeve, a red-haired girl in a cap and a dark-haired girl in a long navy coat against a city skyline on a blue-bordered sleeve, and a blonde woman in a white jacket seated by a sunlit window holding a cup on a yellow-bordered sleeve, all under a SAMPLE watermark.

Every sleeve pack on Bandai's Gundam Card Game product list holds 70 sleeves. That goes for all seven sleeve products on its English product list, and for the sleeve packs inside the two Premium Accessory Sets and the 1st Anniversary Set. Seventy is a 50-card deck, plus the exactly-10-card sideboard Bandai's best-of-three rules call for, plus ten spares.

What a pack does not cover is the rest of your table. The tournament rules want your resource deck and your tokens to look different from your main deck, and the floor rules for sanctioned events want them different from each other too, if you put opaque sleeves on them. Here is every sleeve, dice, case and playmat product on Bandai's English list, what each one contains, the rules that decide what you may put on the table, and the tournament-legal cards packed inside the accessory boxes.

How I checked

On 25 October 2026 I read every entry on Bandai's English (US) product list and the page behind each accessory, plus the Japanese pages for Card Sleeves 01, Card Sleeves 02 and Card Case Set 02. The list shows 50 entries, but its paging is unstable: the products released on 25 September 2026 reshuffle between page loads, so Card Sleeves 02 or the Mobile Suit Gundam 00 playmat set can show up twice across a page break while the other drops out of the unfiltered list. Both appear under the Accessories filter. For the cards inside each product, I read the "Where to get it" field on every card the English card database files under Promotion card, Other Product Card and Basic Cards.

The rules come from the Bandai Organized Play Tournament Rules Manual (last updated 10 July 2025, sections 2.4 to 2.4.5), the Sanctioned Tournament Floor Rules Ver. 1.1.0 (last edited 19 November 2025, sections 2, 5, 6 and 7), the BO3 Match Rules page (3 July 2026), Bandai's play guide and the Comprehensive Rules Ver. 1.10.0 (16 October 2026).

Every sleeve pack on the product list holds 70

Each of those is one pack of 70. So is the sleeve pack in each Premium Accessory Set [PB01, PB02], and the 1st Anniversary Set carries two. Prize sleeves vary. Season 2 Regionals award a "WCS 26-27 Season 2 Sleeve set (70 sleeves/pack)" from the Top 32 (Top 16 at events under 512 players), while the prize table on Bandai's World Championships 26-27 Regional Finals page lists a "Sleeve Set (Amuro Ray) 10pcs".

Bandai's sample image of Official Card Sleeves 01, four sleeve designs in a two-by-two grid: a white and pale blue sleeve built around the GUNDAM CARD GAME logo, a pink-bordered sleeve of Lacus Clyne in a white dress sitting in grass among Haros and bubbles, a blue sleeve of the RX-78-2 Gundam holding its beam rifle in front of a yellow emblem, and a red sleeve of Char's red Zaku II under the yellow Zeon emblem, all under a SAMPLE watermark.

The newest is Card Sleeves EX 02 [EVX10], which reached Bandai's news page on 20 October for a 27 November release at $10.00. Two of its four designs tie into Stardust Trails [GD06], out 30 October: Elpeo Ple, who arrives with Gundam ZZ in that set, and Machu & Nyaan, who both get new Pilot cards in it (GD06-081 Amate Yuzuriha (Machu) and GD06-094 Nyaan). The GD06 card list has the rest of the set.

Shop by code, not by name. Card Sleeves EX 02 is EVX10, Matte Sleeves EX02 is EVX06, and Card Sleeves EX 03 [EVX12] has no fixed date: like the other BANDAI CARD GAMES Fest 26-27 products, its page sends you to the Fest website for each venue's date. The Fest's North America and Europe stops are Orlando (7-10 January 2027) and London (15-17 January 2027). Card Sleeves 02's English page names none of its four designs. The Japanese edition, released 25 July, names all four, among them Suletta Mercury, Nu Gundam vs Sazabi and Shining Gundam vs Master Gundam, and those three match the English page's image.

None of the seven English pages gives a sleeve size, and neither do the Japanese pages for Card Sleeves 01 and 02. Nothing on Bandai's product list is an inner sleeve or a clear sleeve.

What one pack covers, and what it does not

The arithmetic starts with Bandai's BO3 Match Rules page: a sideboard of exactly 10 cards, swapped with main-deck cards between games. Sideboard cards go into the main deck, and section 2.4.2 of the Tournament Rules Manual requires every main-deck sleeve to match in colour, wear and design, so all 60 cards need the same sleeve. One 70-pack covers them. The ten left over are your replacements: the same section tells you to bring extra sleeves for any that get damaged, worn or marked during the event.

The resource deck and tokens have rules of their own. The manual says they must be sleeved "in a way that differentiates those cards from the main deck": clear sleeves, another colour, or no sleeves at all. Section 6 of the floor rules for sanctioned events goes further. If you put opaque sleeves on your resource deck or your tokens, the deck, the resource deck and the tokens must each use different sleeves, and every token you sleeve (Unit tokens, EX Base and EX Resource) must match the others. Counted in official 70-packs, that gives three common kits (swapping which of the resource deck and tokens gets the second design is legal too):

KitMain deck and sideboard (60)Resource deck (10)TokensOfficial 70-packs needed
MinimumOne opaque designUnsleeved or clearUnsleeved or clear1
Two designsDesign ADesign BUnsleeved or clear2
All opaqueDesign ADesign BDesign C3

Clear sleeves have to come from another maker. The floor rules list transparent sleeves as an option without saying whose, and they say outright that unofficial opaque sleeves, patterned ones included, are allowed, though some organisers require specific sleeves at their events. They also let your EX Base sit in a plastic top loader, as long as its sleeve matches your other tokens. The tokens guide sets all three of Bandai's rules documents side by side on tokens.

Double-sleeving is allowed, up to two sleeves per card. The floor rules add that every card in the deck must then carry the same number of sleeves, at least one of the two must have an opaque back, and three or more sleeves can draw a penalty. Reflective backs and holographic fronts are banned; art on the back is fine as long as every sleeve is identical. The tournament rules guide has the rest of the deck-legality checklist.

Damage counters: dice, sheets and how many

Bandai's play guide lists four things you need to play: a 50-card deck, a 10-card resource deck, token cards, and "Damage Counters such as dice". Damage sits on a Unit or Base as counters, and recovering HP removes them (Comprehensive Rules 5-6-1). The rules walkthrough covers how damage and Bases work in play.

Official Damage Counter Dice - Haro - [EVX08], $10.00 (25 Sep 2026)6 dice

Bandai's sample image of Official Damage Counter Dice - Haro - [EVX08]: three clear six-sided dice stacked in a small pyramid, each face carrying green Haro line art and an orange numeral, with 1, 2 and 3 facing the camera, under a SAMPLE watermark.

Any dice will do if they pass two documents. Section 2.4.4 of the manual says dice must be unweighted with clear markings, and nothing that could damage cards. Section 2 of the floor rules lists "Game dice with 20 or fewer sides" and damage counter sheets as acceptable ways to record damage and AP. What you may not use as a marker is your own sleeves, sleeves that look like card backs, or face-down cards (2.4.4).

Six dice leave you one short only in the worst case. You can have at most six Units in your battle area (rule 4-5-4) and one Base in your base section (4-6-3), so no more than seven of your cards can carry damage at once. Shields have 1 HP (4-6-4-2), and a card that takes damage equal to or greater than its HP is destroyed (5-5-2), so a Shield never holds a counter.

The real limit is the die, not the number of dice. A six-sided die tops out at 6, and from 30 October GD06-033 ZZ Gundam, a 7 HP Unit, linked with GD06-088 Judau Ashta at +2 HP, has 9 HP. It can carry 8 damage and stay in play. The problem is not new with GD06: GD01-024 Wing Gundam Zero already has 7 HP, so any Pilot that adds HP takes it past what one six-sided die can show. A d10 or d20 is inside the floor rules' 20-side limit.

Cases, storage boxes and playmats

Deck cases. Outside the premium sets, three products are built around a case:

  • Official Card Case Set 01 ($11.99, 11 July 2025): a deck case, a separator, an EX Resource (Lacus Clyne) and an EX Base (Strike Gundam).
  • Official Card Case Set 02 (25 September 2026, no MSRP on the English page): a deck case, a separator and two promotion cards, which the card database names as GD01-023 Char's Gelgoog and GD01-030 Rick Dom.
  • Special Booster Bundle 01 [EVX09] ($55.00, 30 June 2026): a card case, an EX Base and three Freedom Ascension [GD05] booster packs.

Bandai's sample image of Official Card Case Set 02: a red deck case with a gold Zeon emblem, a red separator card showing Char Aznable in white line art, one fist raised, in front of the Zeon eagle, and two promo cards below it, the green Unit Char's Gelgoog with 4 AP and 3 HP and the green Unit Rick Dom with 3 AP, 3 HP and Breach 2, all under a SAMPLE watermark.

Whatever case you use, keep it clean. During a deck check, the manual has judges assess the contents of your deck container, and nothing that could be confused with a game element may be inside it.

Storage. The Storage Box & Resource Card Set [EVX07] ($19.99, from 29 May 2026) is a half storage box with 10 Resource cards, sold at select convention events and at G-Base Chicago and G-Base London. Accessory and Card Set 01 FIRST COMBAT [EVX-01] ($69.99, 3 July 2025, Anime Expo 2025 and other events) paired a storage box with a playmat and a 10-Resource set. For Gen Con 2026, Bandai's event page limited EVX07 and the EVX06 sleeves to a BANDAI TCG+ random selection open only to players who entered a BANDAI CARD GAMES tournament; our Gen Con day two report covers that weekend.

Playmats. You do not need one. Section 2.4.5 of the manual says playmats are not required for tournament play; one you bring must fit your allotted space and carry nothing offensive. Bandai's rules page offers a free printable playsheet in English, French, Spanish, Italian, German and Portuguese. The official mats all come bundled:

The three Premium Bandai sets link to Premium Bandai's US, Australia and New Zealand stores, and Bandai says limited quantities go through stores and distributors in regions without Premium Bandai. Prize mats are the other route: Season 2 Regionals give a playmat to the Top 4, and the Regional Finals prize table lists one from the Top 32. The World Championships guide covers how to get to those events. If you play over a webcam, Bandai's online rules recommend a darker mat; the online play guide has that checklist.

Eleven of the accessory products above carry cards, and every one of those cards is playable at events, with two catches.

Resources, EX Bases and EX Resources are the easy part. Section 2.4.1.1 of the manual allows every officially distributed resource and token card in any language, Bandai's language usage rules put no regional limit on them, and the seven-day rule for new cards in section 2.4.1 exempts resource and non-deck cards.

The deck cards follow their card numbers. Bandai's rules page says cards with the same card number and different illustrations are the same card, so the Case Set 02 Gelgoog is GD01-023 for the four-copy cap and the banned list. That cuts both ways: PB02's alt-art Mikazuki Augus is still ST05-010, half of the banned pair with ST01-010 Amuro Ray on Bandai's current Banned/Restricted page.

The second catch is language. Players in North America, Latin America, Europe and Oceania must use English cards in the main deck (manual section 2.4.1, and Bandai's language usage rules). Card Case Set 02 came out in Japan on 25 July 2026, two months before the English release, and the Japanese page lists the same two cards. An imported Japanese Gelgoog is fine in a binder, but not in your main deck at a tournament in those regions.

The rarity guide explains the P rarity most of these promos carry.

What to buy for the table you play at

  • Kitchen table, one starter deck. Nothing yet. The starter has your deck, resources, tokens and a paper damage counter.
  • Best-of-one events. One 70-pack for the main deck, resources and tokens unsleeved or in clear sleeves, and six dice. Official Card Sleeves 01 has the lowest listed MSRP, at $7.99.
  • Best-of-three events. The same pack covers deck and sideboard. Bandai's Regional Finals page lists a best-of-three top cut and wants your sideboard registered with your deck whether or not you make the cut, so sleeve all 60 before you arrive. If you want your resource deck in opaque sleeves too, it needs a second design, and your tokens need a third design, clear sleeves or no sleeves.
  • Playing big Units. Add a d10 or d20 for anything that can hold more than six damage, such as a 7 HP Unit with an HP-boosting Pilot.
  • Collecting. The event-only sleeves and mats (EVX-01, EVX02, EVX03, EVX06, EVX11, EVX12) are sold through BANDAI CARD GAMES Fest and convention events, so the product page alone will not get you one.

What Bandai has not published

  • Sleeve dimensions. Not on any of the seven English sleeve pages, or on the Japanese pages for Card Sleeves 01 and 02.
  • Three prices. Card Sleeves 02, Card Case Set 02 and the Gundam 00 playmat set have no MSRP on their English pages.
  • Card Sleeves 02's design names in English.
  • Venue dates for EVX11, EVX12 and Premium Card Collection 02 [EVX13]. Their pages defer to the BANDAI CARD GAMES Fest 26-27 website.
  • Anything after 25 October 2026. EVX10 reached Bandai's news page five days before this was written.

If you are still choosing the box that comes before the sleeves, the starter deck and product guide covers the decks and boosters.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many sleeves are in a Gundam Card Game sleeve pack?
Seventy. All seven official Gundam Card Game sleeve products on Bandai's English product list - Card Sleeves 01 and 02, Card Sleeves EX [EVX03], EX 02 [EVX10] and EX 03 [EVX12], and Matte Sleeves EX and EX02 [EVX06] - contain one pack of 70, as do the sleeve packs in the Premium Accessory Sets and the 1st Anniversary Set. That covers a 50-card deck, a 10-card best-of-three sideboard and 10 spares.
Do I have to sleeve my Resource cards and tokens in the Gundam Card Game?
No. Bandai's Gundam Card Game Tournament Rules Manual lets you leave the resource deck and tokens unsleeved, put them in clear sleeves, or use opaque sleeves that differ from the main deck. The Sanctioned Tournament Floor Rules add that if you use opaque sleeves, the main deck, resource deck and tokens must each have different sleeves, and all your tokens (Unit tokens, EX Base and EX Resource) must match each other.
What size sleeves does the Gundam Card Game use?
Bandai does not say. None of the seven official Gundam Card Game sleeve product pages on its English site lists a sleeve size, and neither do the Japanese pages for Card Sleeves 01 and 02 that were checked on 25 October 2026. Bandai's floor rules allow unofficial sleeves at sanctioned events, though some organisers require specific ones.
Can I use dice as damage counters in Gundam Card Game tournaments?
Yes. Bandai's Gundam Card Game play guide lists "Damage Counters such as dice" as one of four things you need. The Tournament Rules Manual (2.4.4) requires dice to be unweighted with clear markings, and the Sanctioned Tournament Floor Rules allow game dice with 20 or fewer sides or damage counter sheets. Bandai sells two official six-dice sets: Damage Counter Dice 01 at $14.99 and the Haro set [EVX08] at $10.00.
Do you need a playmat to play the Gundam Card Game?
No. Section 2.4.5 of Bandai's Gundam Card Game Tournament Rules Manual says playmats are not required for tournament play; a mat you bring must fit your allotted space and carry no offensive images. Bandai also offers a free printable playsheet in six languages. Official playmats come only in bundles, such as the $43.00 Playmat and Card Sets [EVX02, EVX11] and the Premium Bandai sets.
Are the promo cards in Gundam Card Game accessory sets tournament legal?
Yes. Resources, EX Bases and EX Resources from Gundam Card Game accessory sets are legal in any language and any region. Alt-art deck cards count as the card number they share, so Card Case Set 02's Char's Gelgoog is GD01-023 for the four-copy cap, and the Premium Accessory Set [PB02] Mikazuki Augus is still ST05-010, half of a banned pair with ST01-010 Amuro Ray. In North America, Latin America, Europe and Oceania, main-deck cards must be English.
