Fortnite Treasure Hunters: New Island, Sprites, Battle Pass
Epic's v43.00 notes in one place: Crossbones Isle and its 11 named locations, the four-week Captain's Day schedule, the new weapons, the Sprites that carried over, the Battle Pass and Shop dates, Ranked rewards, the loot pool and the Gold Bar and Vending Machine removals.

Fortnite Treasure Hunters went live today, Sunday, November 1. Epic's v43.00 notes call Crossbones Isle "a new Island" built for 80-player matches, where the previous season played on a different map. Cannons launch you across it, a new captain arrives each week, and Sprites carry on with new ones to collect.
Everything below comes from two Epic pages: the Treasure Hunters announcement on fortnite.com (used here for the Item Shop dates, Battle Pass and weekly captains) and the Fortnite Communities v43.00 notes posted by Epic's BR Dev Team. Dates and times are Epic's, in Eastern Time. Nothing here is a leak, and the season is only hours old, so what is still to come is written as still to come.
Crossbones Isle
Epic's notes list eleven named locations. Climb into a cannon to launch across the island and get to the action fast.
| Location | What Epic says about it |
|---|---|
| The $.$. Rocky | A$AP Rocky's battleship. Challenge him as a Boss, then raid the deck for loot |
| Lantern Lanes | A maze of lantern-lit streets with several routes to choose from |
| Baratie Bay | The floating restaurant and the waterfront around it |
| Windmill Village | A quiet seaside village with turning windmills, from One Piece |
| Loguetown | A busy harbor town |
| Arlong Park | The fish-man stronghold from One Piece, "claim what's inside" |
| Crew's Cove | A ship beside a waterfall in a hidden cove |
| Plunder Port | Two docked ships, both worth clearing out |
| Fort Fortuna | A fortress with ramparts to search for upgrades |
| Rubber Resort | A resort with a duck-shaped yacht |
| Captain's Cenote | Up the mountain, a sinkhole pool at its heart |

One catch if you compare the promo art above with the notes: the key art labels some places differently (Busy Bay, Lantern Landing, Cursed Cavern) and shows ones the notes do not list (Loot Lagoon, Lil' Uzi's Stronghold, The Chest). The location names in the table are the v43.00 notes' wording. Expect the in-game map to be the final word.
Epic's announcement also mentions Captain X's mega chest as one of the new treasures on the Island. It says no more than that.
The Captain's Day schedule
Each week a new captain arrives with a crew and a location. Epic's v43.00 notes say Captain's Day began on November 1 with A$AP Rocky and that a new one arrives every week, with Week 2 on November 7, Week 3 on November 14 and Week 4 on November 21. Epic's announcement also lists a Captain's Day on November 12 (the day the Gold Sprite arrives), and says the first one kicked off at 9 AM ET on November 1.
| Week | Date | Who arrives, per Epic |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | November 1 | The Straw Hats and A$AP Rocky. Rocky is the Island's first Boss and can drop his Shock Rocket and the new Lil' Flacko Sprite |
| 2 | November 7 | Lil Uzi Vert and Cuddle Team Leader take a fort, while Buggy and the Megalodon crash onto the Island. New weapons and Sprites |
| 3 | November 14 | Cap'n Hatsune Miku and Kasane Teto take over the resort. Returning weapons and a leek you can wield |
| 4 | November 21 | Oscar sails in with his own ship and the Frenzy Auto Shotgun |
Mastery Mondays recur all season; see the Sprites section below.
Early on, you may also find a Map Fragment. Epic says only that it is "just one piece of something bigger" and to keep checking back each Captain's Day.
New weapons and items
All of this list is from Epic's v43.00 notes.
| Item | What Epic says it does |
|---|---|
| Gum-Gum Fruit | Become Luffy: long-range rubber punches, foot slams, or a charge that sends you flying |
| Flame-Flame Fruit | Become Ace: rapid shots, then a Fire Fist finisher |
| Zoro's Three Sword Style | Three katanas at once, with a dash to keep pressure on |
| A$AP Rocky's Shock Rocket | Shock Rock charges get you airborne, then rockets rain down. Non-Competitive play only |
| Usopp's Slingshot | Pull back and fire heavy rounds |
| Bundlebuss Repeater Rifle | Fully automatic, fast-firing, best at medium range |
| Gilded Dragoon Shotgun | Single-fire shotgun that trades magazine size for big damage |
| Explosive Cannon Ball | Throw it, or load it into a cannon. Non-Competitive play only |
| Nami's Tangerine | Restores health and shields, with a boost moving through water |
| Meat on a Stick | A heal that keeps healing for a short while after |
| Wanted Poster | Tear one off a wall and it becomes a Sprite Treasure Map leading to a buried Sprite Chest |
Epic gives no damage numbers, rarities or drop rates for any of these in the notes, so a weapon tier list would be guesswork today. Our Weapon Tier List covers how to rank a loot pool once the numbers exist, and the old pool is in the previous season's weapons post.
Sprites carry on
A fair question coming into the changeover was whether Sprites would survive it: our season-end post said Epic had not told anyone. The v43.00 notes answer it. Epic calls Mastery Monday "back", the Sprite Mastery Track "back", and lists new Sprites to collect, so the system continues. What that means for the Sprites you already own is still not spelled out, and the notes do not say.

Mastery Monday. Every Monday from 9 AM ET you earn 2x Sprite XP and 2x Sprite Dust all day, and Sprite Chests and Wanted Posters appear in bigger numbers. The first one is tomorrow, November 2.
New Sprites, per Epic:
| Sprite | Effect |
|---|---|
| Halfpeel'd | Marks elims on the map; detection range grows with level |
| Re-Pete | Faster reloads with a chance to refund ammo |
| Barry O'Fish | Less stamina spent sprinting in water; Slap effect at max level |
| Exmarks | Reveals nearby Treasure Maps and Wanted Posters; spawns a Treasure Map at max level |
| Plundarrgh | Opening Chests gives more Pickaxe and movement speed |
| Chester | May spawn extra Chest loot and cancels fall damage |
| Wayfinder | Reveals nearby Sprites; extra loot from Buried Chests |
| Kelper | Restores health over time in water, with bigger heals per level |
| Lil' Squibbly | Jump into fishing holes to catch fish and bonus loot |
| Lil' Flacko | A small shockwave on landing that knocks opponents back |
| Sweet Dreams | A random item with each level-up, Mythic loot at max level. Epic calls it Dream Sprite's distant cousin |
Variants: the Fortune Sprite reveals nearby Chests, the Cursed Sprite raises your chance of rare Sprite variants but water damages you, and the Gold Sprite, arriving November 12, gives bonus XP for eliminating opponents. Epic also says more Sprites are on the horizon.
Quality of life. This season's Sprites can be viewed in numbered order, and each Sprite shows a Sprite Stamp for how you acquired it. The Sprite Mastery Track is under the Treasure tab in the Lobby, with a new page unlocking every week and rewards like Lucky Locators and Golden Fireworks. Mastering 40 Sprites earns the Navigator's Nosedive Umbrella, and the Sprite Mastery Strongbox Back Bling upgrades as you progress.
Battle Pass and Shop dates
Epic's announcement features Portgas D. Ace and Nico Robin in the new Battle Pass, alongside new anime looks for Jonesy, Cuddle Team Leader and Charlotte. If you gift the pass to a friend, you both get a bonus Dark Kawaii Team Leader Outfit style. The pass itself is not covered in the notes, so check the in-game Passes tab for what is in it and what it costs; this post does not state a price. For the finished season's pass, see the Season 4 Battle Pass breakdown.

Item Shop dates from the announcement, all Eastern Time:
| Date | Arrives |
|---|---|
| Season launch (Nov 1) | Luffy, Nami and Usopp |
| November 5, 7 PM ET | A$AP Rocky |
| November 7 | Zoro, Sanji and the Chopper Sidekick |
| November 12 | Lil Uzi Vert |
| November 13 | Buggy |
| November 14 | Kasane Teto and Cap'n Hatsune Miku |
How Shop currency and rotations work is in our V-Bucks and Item Shop guide.
Ranked and competitive
A new Ranked season begins in Battle Royale. Epic's reward list:
| Rank | Reward |
|---|---|
| Gold | AHOY! Emoticon |
| Platinum | By Order of Geno Loading Screen |
| Diamond | This Must Be the Spot Spray |
| Elite | Par-Rot Back Bling |
| Unreal | Double-Duty Duelist Pickaxe |
Top ranks get new icons: a compass for Elite, the Peely Roger for Champion, the Gem Llama for Unreal. They are rolling out first in the Lobby, Leaderboards, Quests tab and post-match rank-up screen, with more places coming in the next major update. How ranks and climbing work is in the Ranked guide.
Competitive: the One Piece: Zoro Cup is November 6 and the One Piece: Buggy Cup is November 13. Epic says top regional performers can earn the Roronoa Zoro and Buggy Outfits and accessories, plus a Fortnite x One Piece: Treasure Box in eligible countries. Details and official rules live on Fortnite's competitive page.
Loot pool, Gold Bars and removals
Unvaulted at launch: Sentinel Pump Shotgun, Auto Shotgun, Flint-Knock Pistol, Sidearm Pistol, Machine SMG, Tactical SMG, Hammer Assault Rifle, Zipline Deployer and Overdrive Grenade, plus the consumables Slurp Juice, Shield Fish, Jellyfish, Slurpfish, Hop Flopper and Spicy Fish. Later in the season: Lever Action Shotgun, Frenzy Auto Shotgun and Flapjack Rifle.
Balance and quality of life, from the v43.00 notes:
- Chests now refill over time, so you can open them again after a while.
- Gold Bars are vaulted, and Follower services are now free.
- Vending Machines are removed. Pocket-O-Matics remain in Zero Build, with Shockwave Grenade, Port-A-Bunker and Shield Bubble Jr. as the available Pocket Items.
- The Golden Apple now grants 40 Effective Health instead of 50 HP; healing past your max HP spills into your Shield. Its low-gravity effect lasts slightly longer, and it shows up in Produce Boxes a little more often.
- PC: new installs on integrated graphics default to Performance mode, and Dynamic 3D Resolution is on by default for new installs and can now be used with DLSS.
- Mobile: the Pocket Item gets its own slot in the HUD Layout Tool.
Epic also lists a long run of bug fixes, which are in the notes and not repeated here.
What Epic has not said
- A season number. Epic's announcement and notes call this "Fortnite Treasure Hunters" and "this Season" and never give it a season number, so this post does not either.
- End-event details. Epic's announcement tells players to keep Saturday, December 5 open for a Chapter 7 end event. It gives no start time or details, and the v43.00 notes say nothing about it, so this post adds none.
- What carries over. What you keep from last season is in the season-end post; where it is out of date on Sprites, the Sprite section above is newer.
- Battle Pass price and contents. Not in either page.
- Whether any other mode got changes. The notes describe Battle Royale and Zero Build changes; this post says nothing about other playlists because Epic's pages say nothing we could cite.
