Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4 Battle Pass: Skins and Levels

Our Fortnite Crew guide already did the economics on this season's Battle Pass: 800 V-Bucks to buy, 800 V-Bucks back if you finish it, break-even since the Chapter 7 Season 2 repricing. What it doesn't do — because that's not its job — is tell you what you're actually unlocking. This is that list.

The Chapter 7 Season 4: Override Battle Pass went live with update v42.00 on August 20, 2026. Its full reward track is transcluded onto the Chapter 7: Season 4 wiki page from a dedicated Battle Pass sub-page, which lists every reward, in order, by character and page. Eight character sets, sixteen pages, and — as the arithmetic below confirms — a total that matches Epic's own numbers exactly.

The eight skins and when they unlock

Every set gets a named skin. Six of the eight carry an explicit "reach level X" requirement on their own wiki page; Sonic and Geno's pages record no such line, and Sonic's is listed as the pass's Page 1 reward, which puts it at the top of the track rather than gated behind a level.

Sonic is the outlier twice over. It's the only skin at a rarity other than Epic — the wiki files it under a "Gaming Legends Series" label instead — and its page-2 style is a transformation rather than a recolor: Super Sonic is a selectable style on the Sonic skin itself, not a separate reward, and it comes with its own built-in "Go Super Sonic" emote. It isn't the pass's only style with a built-in emote, though — Geno's page-2 Ageless Geno style ships with one too (Shapeless Shift), it's just not framed as a transformation the way Super Sonic is.

The level curve itself is worth noticing: 10, 10, 35, 35, 60, 60, 85. Epic paired the sets so two skins land at each of three gates, which means the pass has exactly four distinct unlock milestones for its named characters, not eight.

What each two-page set actually contains

Every character's rewards split across two pages — the second page always includes a Skin Style (a recolor or variant of the base outfit), and a 100 V-Bucks reward lands on one of the two pages for every set, with two exceptions where it's the first page rather than the second. Counting the reward rows on the Battle Pass page directly:

That's 99 reward rows across the sixteen pages — every character page, every item, counted once. Sonic and Geno are the only two sets to carry a full 7-item first page; everyone else runs 6 and 6. Wrixel and Geno are the two sets whose V-Bucks reward sits on page 1 instead of page 2 — every set still gets exactly one 100 V-Bucks reward somewhere in its two pages, Wrixel included.

The V-Bucks add up to exactly the price

Here's where the Crew guide's number gets its receipts. It states the completed pass "returns a total of 800 V-Bucks" without breaking down where that comes from. Add up every V-Bucks reward listed on the Battle Pass page and the source is obvious: each of the eight character sets pays out exactly one 100 V-Bucks reward, on Sonic, Wrixel, Phantom, Mali, Bastian, K1ttyW1ns, Grace Crowne and Geno alike. Eight sets, 100 V-Bucks each, 800 total — matching the pass's own 800 V-Bucks purchase price to the dollar, and confirming the Crew guide's break-even claim rather than contradicting it.

It's an even split by design, not a coincidence worth reading into further: every set pays the same 100 V-Bucks regardless of its unlock level, so a level-10 set returns exactly as much as the level-85 one.

Bonus Rewards: five sets get a second tier

Five of the eight characters carry a separate "Bonus Rewards" table beyond their two main pages — Mali, Grace Crowne, Bastian, K1ttyW1ns and Phantom. Sonic, Wrixel and Geno do not.

Each Bonus Rewards table carries seven items and ends in a third Skin Style — Gloomwarden Grove Mali, Serpentine Operative Grace Crowne, Sandseeker Bastian, Alpine Ice K1ttyW1ns, and Chaos Agent pHANTOM. That's a third recolor on top of the base skin and the page-2 style, for those five sets only. Whether that split tracks anything about rarity or level gate isn't stated on the wiki page — Mali and Bastian (level 35), K1ttyW1ns and Grace Crowne (level 60) and Phantom (level 10) all get one, while Sonic (ungated), Wrixel (level 10) and Geno (level 85) don't, so it doesn't cleanly follow the level curve either.

Skipping the grind for V-Bucks

The main Chapter 7: Season 4 page states the mechanic plainly: each Battle Pass level costs 80,000 XP, or a player can skip the grind and claim up to 99 rewards individually for 150 V-Bucks each. That "99" isn't a round marketing number — it's the exact reward count on the sixteen main pages counted above. Buy out every individual reward on the main track at 150 V-Bucks each and the full price is 14,850 V-Bucks, nowhere near a rational way to finish the pass; the number exists so a player who's a few rewards short at season's end can close the gap on specific items rather than grinding a full level for one piece.

The five Bonus Rewards tables and the two launch bonuses below aren't part of that 99-item pool — nothing in Epic's text or the wiki page says they're individually purchasable, so treat the buy-out option as covering the sixteen main pages only.

The launch-week and gift bonuses

Two more rewards sit outside the level track entirely, both tied to a purchase timing rather than XP:

The early-purchase window already closed on August 27 — if you're buying the pass today, that specific style is gone regardless of your level. The gift bonus has no expiry stated beyond the season itself, so it's still live: gift the pass to a friend before October 31, 2026, when the season ends, and Peril Peak Mali unlocks on your account.

Is the Override pass worth buying

That's the full content list, so the buying decision comes down to what our Crew guide already established: the pass costs 800 V-Bucks, returns 800 V-Bucks if you finish it (now confirmed, item by item, above), and stays claimable all season once bought outright — unlike a Crew-granted copy, which locks its unclaimed premium rewards the moment a subscription lapses. If Sonic and the ungated Page 1 rewards are the only pull, that's an even trade before you've unlocked anything else.
