Kayou Has Six Naruto Sets in the US Now — and the Series Numbers Do Not Mean What You Think

Six sets. Eleven months. 880 distinct cards.

That is what Kayou has pushed into US retail under the NARUTO Smriti banner since September 2025, and the numbering on the boxes will not help you keep track of a single one of them. Kayou's own US site lists 28 product series across its four North American properties, and six of them are Naruto — but the series numbers restart per name while the codes printed on the cards run straight through. The set labelled "Series 1" is not the first one out, and one of the lines has no Series 1 at all.

Everything below comes off Kayou's official US product pages, which publish the card count, the full rarity ladder, the packaging spec, the release month and — for four of the six — the per-pack production ratios. No prices, no resale talk. The six sets, in the order they shipped

Packaging above is each set's main display edition. Heaven Scroll, both Earth Scroll sets and Chapter Jin Series 3 each list additional, smaller box editions on the same page — more on that below.

Six sets in eleven months, and 880 distinct cards across them. That is a release cadence closer to a sports-card manufacturer than a TCG publisher, which makes sense, because that is what this is.

Two things jump straight out of that table. The set that says "Series 1" on the box came out third. And Chapter Jin, which the US catalogue starts at Series 2, has no Series 1 anywhere on Kayou's US site.

The card codes tell a different story than the box names

Every Kayou Naruto card prints an ID along its bottom edge — NRSA03-PU-001L4, NRI01-UR-014L3, that shape. The prefix is the set. Line them up against the box names and the actual structure falls out:

• NRSA01 → Heaven Scroll Series 1
• NRSA02 → Chapter Jin Series 2
• NRSA03 → Chapter Jin Series 3
• NRI01 → Earth Scroll Series 1
• NREA02 → Earth Scroll Series 2
• NRCCNA → Ninja Age Premium Collector Box

So Heaven Scroll Series 1, Chapter Jin Series 2 and Chapter Jin Series 3 are one continuous numbered run — 01, 02, 03 — under a single NRSA code. That is why there is no Chapter Jin Series 1: Heaven Scroll is the Series 1 of that line. The name on the front of the box changed after the first release; the card numbering did not.

Earth Scroll is the odd one out twice over. It is a separate line, and its two entries do not even share a card-code prefix with each other — Series 1 is NRI01 and Series 2 is NREA02. The model numbers do not agree with the card codes here either: both Chapter Jin sets carry the model stem NR-KP-CC-ZZZ, both Earth Scroll displays carry NR-KP-DZJ (001A and 002A, a tidy consecutive pair the card codes never show), and Heaven Scroll predates that scheme entirely at NR-RDIV-Z001-NA.

Why this matters practically: if you are cataloguing, sorting a binder, or checking whether a listing is the set you think it is, read the card code, not the box art. The prefix tracks the real release order in a way the box names do not — though even it is not perfectly typed, since Heaven Scroll's fifteen UR cards print NRSA-01-UR-… where the rest of that set prints NRSA01-….

Chapter Jin Series 3 is the biggest set Kayou has printed here

185 cards across 13 rarity tiers, released April 2026. For scale, that is 27 more cards and three more tiers than the Heaven Scroll set that launched the line.

Most of that growth is new tier codes. Series 3 introduces ASP (Amber Special) and ◇ASP (Parallel Amber Special) at eight cards each, both under the theme "Ninjutsu Secrets", and neither appears in any other US Naruto set. It also swaps the 20-card PTR block for a 20-card HR (Holo Rare) block themed "Story Flashbacks", and expands ◇UR to 11 cards — nearly triple the four in Earth Scroll Series 2.

Two of the eleven ◇UR cards are flagged on the page as US exclusives — the theme is "Graffiti Sketches". Earth Scroll Series 2 carries one US-exclusive card, in its four-card ◇UR "Pop Art" group. Those three cards are the only ones Kayou marks as region-exclusive across all six sets.

The oddest tier in the catalogue is PU — Parallel Universe, eight cards, themed "Letters from Parallel Universe". It puts the cast in contemporary clothes and settings rather than ninja gear. Kayou showed the Chapter Jin PU cards at San Diego Comic-Con 2026 and described them exactly that way: characters dropped into a modern-day setting.

PU appears in Heaven Scroll Series 1, Chapter Jin Series 2 and Chapter Jin Series 3, at eight cards every time — and nowhere in the Earth Scroll line or Ninja Age. It is the tier I would actually chase, because it is the one where the artists are doing something other than redrawing a fight.

Earth Scroll Series 1 ships in two very different boxes

This is the set most likely to catch someone out, because its page lists two editions with completely different packaging under the same name.

Version A is the ordinary display: 8 cards per pack, 20 packs per box, 24 boxes per carton, with a published Appearance Probability block. The Collector Box is 8 cards per pack but only 5 packs per box, 72 boxes per carton, and publishes no ratio at all. So a Collector Box of Earth Scroll Series 1 is 40 cards; a Version A box of the same set is 160.

Read the edition label before you buy, because "Earth Scroll Series 1" on a listing does not tell you which of the two you are getting.

At 131 cards across 8 tiers it is the smallest of the five scroll-and-Jin sets, and its ladder is CR, SP, AR, MR, UR, SSR, SR, R. The SP group is four cards themed Stained Glass — the same treatment Kayou led with when it announced its US market entry in September 2025.

Earth Scroll is where the next generation shows up

Here is the thing I did not expect to find, and the single best reason to read the card list before you buy sealed.

Earth Scroll Series 1 contains 17 cards of the Boruto-era cast. Boruto Uzumaki, Sarada Uchiha, Mitsuki, Himawari Uzumaki, Inojin Yamanaka, plus an adult Sakura Uchiha and an adult Hinata Uzumaki under their married names. They are not scattered through the set — they are bolted onto the tail end of four tiers:

Note the numbering: they cluster at the tail of each tier, and SR 015 through 020 is a clean six-card run. The 50-card R tier has none of them at all.

Earth Scroll Series 2 does the same thing at half the volume: seven cards, again clustered at the ends of UR, SSR and SR, adding Metal Lee and Chocho Akimichi to the roster.

The other four sets — Heaven Scroll Series 1, both Chapter Jin sets, and Ninja Age — contain zero next-generation character cards between them. If you are buying for a kid who watches Boruto, that is a two-set list. If you want no Boruto-generation cards in your binder at all, that is a four-set list. Either way, the box does not tell you which.

Ninja Age is where the Shippuden roster lives

Every scroll and Chapter Jin set stops around the Sasuke Retrieval arc. Itachi and Kisame turn up in Earth Scroll Series 2 and Chapter Jin Series 3, which is chronologically correct — they appear during the search for Tsunade — but the wider Akatsuki does not exist in those sets.

The Ninja Age Premium Collector Box (August 2026, 106 cards, 10 tiers) is the exception. Its roster includes Deidara, Sasori, Hidan, Konan, Tendo and Minato Namikaze. Its 8-card MR tier is a set of costume redesigns named in the form "Ninja Sasori", "Ninja Itachi Uchiha", "Ninja Deidara", "Ninja Tendo", "Ninja Konan", "Ninja Sasuke Uchiha".

Its 20-card PTR poster block is the clearest signal of all. Three cards are labelled NARUTO CLASSIC, sixteen are labelled NARUTO SHIPPUDEN 01 through 16, and one is labelled BORUTO-NARUTO-01. That is a single set covering all three anime eras on its poster tier alone, which nothing else in the catalogue does.

Ninja Age is also structurally different in the way the box is built. It has no R tier and no SR tier — the ladder is ◇XR, ◇MR, ◇QR, MR, SSR, QR, UR, PTR, XR, SP, and the two ◇MR cards are both titled "Happy Wedding (Early exclusive version)". Removing the commons entirely changes what every remaining code means inside that box.

The R tier stopped being a tidy ten by five

The R tier is 50 cards in all five sets that have one, and the cards are landscape-orientation scene panels that assemble into episode moments. That much is constant. What changed is the shape of the puzzle.

Heaven Scroll's R tier was ten scenes of exactly five cards — "Enter: Naruto Uzumaki! 1/5" through 5/5, ten times over. By Chapter Jin Series 3 the same 50 cards are cut into 20 scenes ranging from a single standalone card up to an eight-panel run.

That is a real difference in what "completing the R tier" feels like. Twenty short scenes give you far more finish lines than ten long ones, and single-card scenes mean some of them are done the moment you pull them. It is a friendlier structure, and it is invisible from outside the box.

Two codes changed meaning between sets

Kayou rebuilds the rarity ladder per set, which is documented behaviour and not a secret. Two specific drifts are worth writing down because they will break a spreadsheet.

PTR did not survive intact. It is a 20-card block in Heaven Scroll Series 1, Chapter Jin Series 2 and the Ninja Age box, but Chapter Jin Series 3 replaces it with a 20-card HR (Holo Rare) block. Same slot in the ladder, same card count, different two letters. And the content underneath moved too: in Heaven Scroll the PTR cards are NARUTO CLASSIC key-visual posters, in Chapter Jin Series 2 they are Character Posters, and the Chapter Jin Series 3 HR cards are episode-title flashback scenes with names like "Return of the Morning Mist".

SSR keeps changing its own name. It is "Super Secret Rare" in Heaven Scroll Series 1, Chapter Jin Series 2 and Chapter Jin Series 3, and "Super Spark Rare" in both Earth Scroll sets and Ninja Age. The abbreviation never changes. The words behind it flip depending on which line you are holding.

What Kayou says is actually in a pack

Five of the six sets publish a per-pack production ratio — every one except the Ninja Age Premium Collector Box. These are Kayou's own numbers, printed next to the packaging spec, and they describe pack composition — not what anything is worth, and not a reason to buy a carton.

• Heaven Scroll Series 1 (8 cards): 12 packs in 24 are 2R + 1SR + 3 from SR/SSR/UR + 2PTR. The other 12 in 24 widen that middle slot to SR/SSR/UR/PU/MR/BP/SP/SE.
• Chapter Jin Series 2 (8 cards): 2 packs in 12 are 3R + 2SR + 1SSR + 2PTR. The other 10 in 12 are 2R + 1SR + 1SSR + 1 from R/UR + 2PTR + one slot that can be anything from SR up to SE.
• Earth Scroll Series 1 (8 cards, Version A): 4 packs in 20 are 3R + 2SR + 1SSR + 2UR. The other 16 in 20 are 3R + 2SR + 1SSR + 1 from UR/MR/SP/AR/CR + 1 from SSR/SR.
• Earth Scroll Series 2 (7 cards): 5 packs in 10 are 3R + 2SR + 1SSR + 1UR. The other 5 in 10 replace that last card with SSR/◇UR/AR/MR/CR.
• Chapter Jin Series 3 (8 cards): 10 packs in 12 are 3R + 1SR + 1SSR + 1 from SR/SSR/UR + 2HR. The other 2 in 12 swap that fourth card for a slot restricted to PU/◇UR/HR/BP/AR/ASP/◇ASP/SE.

Every one of those adds up exactly to the pack size, which is a decent sign the pages are being maintained rather than copy-pasted.

The structural change worth noticing is between the two Chapter Jin sets. In Series 2, ten packs in twelve carry a wide-open slot, but that slot is diluted with SR, SSR and UR. In Series 3, the equivalent slot appears in only two packs in twelve, and it excludes SR, SSR and UR entirely. Kayou narrowed the gate and changed what is behind it.

Which set to buy for what you actually want

The deepest set: Chapter Jin Series 3, at 185 cards and 13 tiers, with 8 cards per pack.

The Land of Waves arc: Heaven Scroll Series 1. All ten of its R-tier scenes run that arc, from "Enter: Naruto Uzumaki!" to "The Demon in the Snow", and the headline roster is Team 7, Kakashi, Zabuza and Haku — 17 of its 158 cards are Naruto Uzumaki.

The Chunin Exams: Chapter Jin Series 2 or Earth Scroll Series 1. Series 2 is Rock Lee, Gaara and Neji heavy and has 168 cards; Earth Scroll Series 1 covers the same window in 131.

Boruto-generation characters: Earth Scroll Series 1 first (17 cards), Earth Scroll Series 2 second (7). Nowhere else.

The wider Akatsuki: the Ninja Age Premium Collector Box, and only that.

A single small purchase to see whether you like the product: one of the five-pack Collector Boxes — Earth Scroll Series 1, Chapter Jin Series 3, or the Heaven Scroll bundle. Forty cards each.

Ukiyo-e art specifically: the AR tier, which is themed "Ukiyo-e Battle" in Earth Scroll Series 1 (10 cards), Earth Scroll Series 2 (10), Chapter Jin Series 2 (10) and Chapter Jin Series 3 (6). Four sets, 36 cards, and a hard finish line — which is a far better goal than "pull something good".

What the product pages still do not tell you

Being straight about the gaps: Kayou's US product pages carry the card list, the rarity ladder, the packaging spec, the release month and — sometimes — the production ratio. They do not carry print runs, MSRP, whether an older set is still being manufactured, or what actually separates one lettered edition from the next — Heaven Scroll runs Version A through D plus a bundle, and Chapter Jin Series 3 runs Version A through F plus a Collector Box, with nothing but the packaging line to tell them apart.

There is also still no rulebook, because there is still no game. Kayou's Naruto line is a collectible, and its product pages list no rules text, costs or abilities — nothing you could resolve against another card. The competitive Naruto TCG is Bandai's, it debuted at Gen Con 2026, and it does not launch until Summer 2027 — a completely different company and a completely different product.
