Every NARUTO CARD GAME Giveaway in 2026 Is the Same Card — Here Is What CP-001 Actually Says

Bandai will not sell you a NARUTO CARD GAME product until Summer 2027. It has already given one away.

Every giveaway Bandai has put on the calendar hands out the same card — CP-001, a Chakra Card. The 7 August announcements brought the count to four; the BCG Fest venue pages published on 6, 21 and 28 August added five more, each with its own set of hoops to jump through. Nine giveaways, one card.

What CP-001 actually is

The card is titled CHAKRA CARD. Its type band reads CHAKRA, its number is CP-001, and it sits in an orange border rather than the coloured frames Bandai used for the Character cards it published on 29 July. The art is Naruto mid-lunge with a kunai and a Rasengan, Sasuke drawing a blade behind him, both over the spiral motif from the game's key visual. The right margin credits the illustrator as Taiga Itokazu, and carries the line "BANDAI MADE IN JAPAN NOT FOR SALE". Every published copy is stamped SAMPLE across the art.

Here is why the card number matters more than it looks. Per Bandai's own ABOUT page, a NARUTO CARD GAME player brings a Leader card, a 51-card deck, 5 Chakra cards, and 1 Summon card. Chakra cards are their own fixed five-card allotment, separate from the deck you draw from. So CP-001 is not an alt-art of something you would otherwise pull from a booster — on the published deck structure, it is one fifth of a mandatory deck component.

Whether these promo copies will be usable in the released game is not something Bandai has stated anywhere. The SAMPLE watermark and the NOT FOR SALE line both point at non-final product. Do not assume a 2026 giveaway card is a 2027 tournament card.

The rule printed on the card

Under the card name, in the slot where a Character card prints its trait line, CP-001 prints a rule:

When using Chakra, turn this card face-down.

That is the same line Bandai prints on the generic Chakra Card, C-001, in the card-type illustrations on its ABOUT page — the promo and the base card do the same job under different numbers. The showcase gallery cards from the 29 July reveal carry no text box at all, but the ABOUT page's seven card-type and how-to-play cards do, and we transcribed all of them separately. So this is not the whole published card-text corpus; it is the one line that happens to be on the card you can actually be handed in 2026.

What it establishes: Chakra cards start face-up and you flip them face-down to spend them. That is a rest-style resource, not a discard or a cost paid from hand, and combined with the fixed five-card allotment it means your resource base does not have to be drawn into. No mana screw, structurally.

What CP-001 itself does not establish is the other half — how the five come back. That answer is printed elsewhere, on the Leader. Both published Leader cards carry an identical orange ◇Recovery bar: "If it is the second turn or later, rest this card and flip all of your CHAKRA face-up." So recovery is a Leader ability, it is all-or-nothing, and it is unavailable on turn one. What is still unpublished is whether that is the only route back, whether all five start face-up, and how much Chakra you may spend in a single turn.

The stamp is the variant

Across the four convention and stadium giveaways, Bandai names a version for two and leaves the other two unnamed:

The stamp lands in the same spot both times — lower right of the art box, over the spiral. That is a tidy, reusable variant scheme, and it means the base card art is doing all the work while the event mark does the differentiating.

One detail worth recording precisely: the image Bandai published on the NYCC page and the image on the PAX Aus page are the same asset, byte for byte, and neither carries a stamp. That is consistent with both shows handing out the same unstamped card. It is not proof — a shared marketing image is a marketing decision, not a product spec — but Bandai also declined to append a "Ver." to either listing, which it did do for Gen Con and the Yankees.

Every confirmed way to get one in 2026

At the three convention tutorial events — Gen Con, NYCC and PAX Aus — the card is conditional, not automatic. Bandai's wording is identical across the pages: only participants registered to the "NARUTO TCG UPDATES CHANNEL" on TCG+ and who complete a survey after the session are eligible. You get one session per person across the whole show, and one set of participation prizes regardless of how many sessions you book. Demo decks stay on the table.

The registration mechanism changed after Gen Con, and it is the practical thing to know. Gen Con ran through Gen Con's own advance ticketing, which opened 21 June 2026 at 12:00 PM PDT, with Bandai warning that duplicate registrations could be cancelled without notice. Both NYCC and PAX Aus say registration is "planned to take place on-site on the day of the event." So there is nothing to lock in ahead of time for either, and both pages currently end with a request to stay tuned for further details. The five BCG Fest Teaching Sessions work differently again: entry is by pre-registration lottery through BANDAI TCG+, and Bandai's pages state same-day registration will not be available.

The Yankees giveaway is the odd one out

Bandai's page for NARUTO x YANKEES GAME NIGHT on 8 September 2026 says a Chakra Card featuring the Yankees logo will be distributed at Yankee Stadium, One East 161st Street, and then hands you off to the Yankees for distribution details. On the card itself, the left margin carries the line that the New York Yankees trademarks are used with permission.

The Yankees' own promotional schedule is where the number lives. It lists NARUTO Night – NARUTO Yankee Stadium Exclusive Card Giveaway, Tuesday September 8, 1st 40,000 Guests, presented by Bandai.

That figure is worth pinning down, because a much smaller one has been circulating socially. The club's promotional schedule is the document that governs a Yankees gate giveaway, and it says 40,000 guests, not 18,000.

It is also the least gated of the four. No tutorial, no survey, no app registration appears on either Bandai's page or the Yankees listing — you are through the gate early enough or you are not. That makes it, on the announced terms, the easiest CP-001 to obtain and the one least tied to actually learning the game.

Worth flagging before you buy one from someone else: the card has NOT FOR SALE printed down its right edge, and Gen Con copies and Yankees presale copies have both appeared as listings on eBay and StockX. That is what happens to a free numbered card, but the text on the card is unambiguous about Bandai's intent.

The gift set got smaller after Gen Con

The backpack and the voucher were Gen Con items. Neither of the two later pages lists them; both list the card and the sticker and stop.

The playmat did not vanish, though — it changed shape, and in the buyer's favour. At Gen Con the NARUTO CARD GAME Official Playmat -Arriving in 2027- was locked behind a purchase voucher you could only earn by completing a tutorial session, and the voucher was valid on the day of that event only. At NYCC and PAX Aus the same playmat is listed plainly as merchandise at $35 plus tax, one per person, limited quantities each day, with no tutorial requirement stated. If you want the mat more than the card, those two shows are the simpler route.

PAX Aus also carries one thing NYCC does not: a standalone sticker giveaway open to anyone who follows a Bandai social channel or registers the TCG+ channel, no tutorial attached. The NYCC page has no equivalent section.

BCG Fest now hands out CP-001 at five stops

BANDAI CARD GAMES Fest 26-27 is the other item on the calendar, and it has firmed up since the Gen Con reveal. Eleven stops are now on the board, seven of them to the day: Jakarta 10–11 October 2026, Manila 24–25 October, Bangkok 21–22 November, Hong Kong S.A.R. 28–29 November, Singapore 5–6 December, Kuala Lumpur December, Taipei December, Shanghai December, Orlando 7–10 January 2027, London 15–17 January 2027, and Tokyo in early 2027.

NARUTO CARD GAME is on the fest's title roster, alongside Battle Spirits, DIGIMON CARD GAME, ONE PIECE CARD GAME, UNION ARENA, DRAGON BALL SUPER CARD GAME and GUNDAM CARD GAME.

It is still absent from the fest's commemorative lineups — the commemorative giveaway cards published so far cover six titles (26RBS01-110 Meteorsurfing, ST20-11 WarGreymon ACE, P-110 Monkey.D.Luffy, the UAPR/UPD-AP01 Action Point Card, the E-184 Energy Marker, and EXBP-034 EX Base 〈Gundam〉 BCGFest 26-27 Ver.) and the commemorative product filter offers the same six, with no Naruto option.

But the venue sites caught up across 6, 21 and 28 August. Seven stops now carry a NARUTO CARD GAME event page. Five of them — Jakarta (10–11 October), Manila (24–25 October), Bangkok (21–22 November), Hong Kong (28–29 November) and Singapore (5–6 December) — each run a pre-registered Teaching Session with CP-001 as the participation prize and list the NARUTO CARD GAME Official Playmat -Arriving in 2027- as a purchasable special product. The other two, Orlando (7–10 January 2027) and London (15–17 January 2027), list a Tutorial Session with no window, prize or price yet. The three European stops now have event pages

Bandai's homepage roadmap lists three more tutorial-session stops this autumn: Spiel Essen and Paris Games Week on 22–25 October 2026, and Lucca Comics & Games on 28 October – 1 November 2026.

All three got an official event page on 4 September 2026, and they run on the same terms as NYCC and PAX Aus: free Tutorial Sessions with registration on-site on the day, one session per person per show, and CP-001 as the participation gift — one per person, conditional on registering the NARUTO TCG UPDATES CHANNEL on BANDAI TCG+ and completing the survey. Each stop also sells the $35 Official Playmat (arriving 2027, one per person), and the Essen and Paris pages list the logo-sticker giveaway for following Bandai's social channels or registering the TCG+ channel. Venues are Messe Essen, Paris Expo Porte de Versailles and Piazza Santa Maria in Lucca, and all three need the show's own admission ticket. What this still does not tell you

The gaps left by the 29 July reveal, minus the ones Bandai's own sample cards have since closed:

• Turn structure. No phases, no hand size, no mulligan, no first-turn rule.
• The Chakra ceiling. Spending flips a Chakra card face-down and the Leader's ◇Recovery flips them all back from turn two, but nothing published says how much Chakra you may spend in one turn, whether all five start face-up, or whether Recovery is the only way back.
• Product and price. No set name, no pack configuration, no rarity structure, no MSRP for anything except a $35 playmat.
• Promo legality. No statement on whether a giveaway CP-001 is playable in the released game.

Bandai's next scheduled beat is a December 2026 information drop, ahead of in-store tutorial sessions in January 2027, with a simultaneous worldwide release in Summer 2027. Between now and then, CP-001 is the only card on the calendar.
