Lorcana Challenge 2026-27 Schedule and How to Qualify

Under Ravensburger's updated format, a Season of Villainy Challenge weekend is three tournaments, not one, and each hands out Championship invites on different terms. Here are the 11 Challenge dates on Ravensburger's English-language Challenge page, what Main Event 1, Main Event 2 and the Infinity CCQ each qualify you for, the CCQ and Local Qualifier rules, the prize ladder and the golden Hades on it.

Key art from Ravensburger's Disney Lorcana Challenge Season of Villainy page: Hades from Hercules, with blue flaming hair and yellow eyes, grins sideways at the viewer in a high-collared purple robe with a chain and a hexagonal medallion, one hand raised and wreathed in blue flame, against a dark purple background with a small Disney copyright credit in the corner.

Ravensburger's updated format turns a Disney Lorcana Challenge weekend in the Season of Villainy into three tournaments, not one. It puts a 4,096-player main event on Friday, a separate 1,280-player main event on Saturday, and a 216-player Infinity Constructed qualifier alongside them. Each one hands out Championship invites on different terms, and you can enter only one of the two main events.

That split is one of several changes in the '26-'27 season, which Ravensburger brands the Season of Villainy. A new rung, the Local Qualifier, now sits between your store's Set Championship and a regional Championship. Every Challenge gets a Youth Division. And the headline prize is a serialized golden Hades whose ability is an alternate win condition.

This is the season as it stands on 11 October 2026: every Challenge date on Ravensburger's English-language Challenge page, what each event qualifies you for, the qualifier rules and the prize ladder. Two Challenge Championship Qualifiers, in Fairview Heights, Illinois and Sevilla, Spain, are running this weekend, 10-11 October, and the first Challenge on that English-language calendar, Bangkok, is 20 days away. No Season of Villainy Challenge has been played in Europe or North America yet, so nothing below is a result.

The 11 Challenges on the calendar

Ravensburger's Challenge page promises "Seven Regions" for the season. Its English-language listing names eleven Challenges in three of them:

That is five in Europe, five in North America and one in Asia. Two things to know before booking anything. LorcanaPlayer's season tracker gives Las Vegas as 30 April-2 May 2027, not the 9-11 April on Ravensburger's page; go with Ravensburger, and check again before you buy a flight. And the same tracker lists further Challenges in Japan, China and Australia that the English page does not, so players there should watch their own region's Lorcana channels.

Every one of the eleven falls after 16 October, the Hyperia City prerelease. Tournament Rules 1.6 makes a set legal in sanctioned Constructed events from its prerelease, so Hyperia City is in the Core pool for the whole Challenge calendar, and the Bangkok page spells it out: sets 9 to 14 are legal. The Hyperia City prerelease guide covers the set itself.

One Challenge weekend, three tournaments

Ravensburger's slides lay out a Challenge weekend like this:

PrizesThe full ladder, including the golden Hades for the Top 8Same promos and playmats as Main Event 1 through Top 16; no golden HadesMother Knows Best prizing

Ravensburger's Disney Lorcana Challenge Update slide for Main Event 1, on a starry purple background beside the gold-and-purple Challenge shield logo and a cartoon Mickey Mouse in a feathered crown and red tunic: Friday to Sunday, 4,096 players, Core Constructed, best-of-three; Friday 8 rounds of Swiss with a cut at 18 points, Saturday 7 rounds of Swiss cut to Top 8, Sunday Top 8 single elimination best-of-five; Top 32 plus equal-point players qualify for their region's Championship event; new rules of open ink pairings on day 1 and open deck lists on days 2 and 3.

The slides are Ravensburger's rather than London's, but of the two event pages Ravensburger's Challenge page links to, only London's carries them, and Bangkok, below, runs differently. Three rules come with the format. Players cannot compete in both main events, so a Friday player who misses the cut cannot start again on Saturday; London's ticket page says the same thing from the other side, barring Friday entrants from buying a Saturday ticket. Ink pairings are open on day one. Deck lists are open from day two onward.

The 18-point cut is easier to read as a record. Under Tournament Rules 3.3 a match win is worth 3 points, a draw 1 and a loss 0, so reaching 18 points in eight rounds takes six wins, or five wins and three draws. Main Event 1's survivors then play seven more rounds on Saturday, fifteen Swiss rounds in all before anyone reaches the Top 8.

Main Event 2 looks like the softer option and is not. At full caps, Main Event 1 hands out at least 32 Championship invites to 4,096 players, one for every 128 entrants. Main Event 2 hands out 8 to 1,280, one for every 160. What the Saturday event saves you is the Friday: eleven Swiss rounds in all, against Main Event 1's fifteen plus a playoff. It does not save you competition for the invite.

Bangkok runs a different main event

Bangkok is organized by Saka Saka, and its page describes a single main event rather than the two-event split:

  • Format. Core Constructed with sets 9 to 14 legal. Only English and Simplified Chinese cards are allowed.
  • Structure. Swiss over two days, with Day 2 decided by a match-point threshold announced at the event, then a Top 32 single-elimination cut. Rounds are best-of-three at 60 minutes.
  • Size. Capped at 1,024 players to start. If demand exceeds that, the organizer says capacity may rise and prize support will be adjusted.
  • Tickets. On sale until 23:59 GMT+8 on 24 October, or until they sell out.
  • Venue. MCC Hall, The Mall Lifestore Bangkae, with early check-in and side events on Friday 30 October.
  • What it qualifies you for. The champion gets an invitation to "the next World Championship", and the Top 16 get invitations to the next Asia Championship, which has no date or venue yet.

Its prize list matches the slides through Top 16. From there it diverges: Bangkok's Top 8 get an uncut sheet and its golden Hades goes to the Top 4, where Ravensburger's slides put the golden Hades at Main Event 1's Top 8.

The prize ladder, and a Hades that wins the game

Here is the ladder from Ravensburger's slides. Main Event 2 prizes the same way through Top 16:

Top 64Gaston - Superior Archer promo
Top 32Madam Mim - Resourceful Trickster promo
Top 16Madam Mim - Resourceful Trickster playmat
Top 8 (Main Event 1)Serialized golden Hades - Dark Usurper, numbered to 250

Ravensburger's Challenge Update prizing slide showing three rewards side by side: the Ursula - Deceiver promo card, a 2-cost Emerald Storyborn Villain Sorcerer with the ability You'll Never Even Miss It, labelled Participation; the Be Prepared promo card, a 7-cost action song that banishes all characters, its art showing a roaring lion amid swirls of green and orange flame, labelled 3 Match Wins; and a playmat with the same Be Prepared art and the Challenge logo, labelled Day 2 Qualify.

Two of those promos are worth a second look. Madam Mim - Resourceful Trickster is a Hyperia City Legendary, so the Top 32 card is a fresh one from the newest set. Be Prepared, the reward for three match wins, is the opposite case. On Lorcast its only main-set printing is in The First Chapter, set 1, and the slide's collector line marks the promo as set 1 too. Tournament Rules 1.6 says promo cards rotate with their set, and its rotation list keeps sets 1 to 8 out of Core, so the card you earn for three wins cannot be played in the Core event that awards it. It is an Infinity card.

The ladder above Top 8 is less settled. The slides on the London page stop at the golden Hades. Bangkok's list continues to a full foil set plus an Epic, an Enchanted and an Iconic for the Top 2, and a trophy for the champion. LorcanaPlayer reports a similar top end for Europe and North America, but I did not find it on Ravensburger's own pages.

Three gold-foil versions of the Disney Lorcana card Hades - Dark Usurper fanned together, each with different art of Hades in flames: an 8-cost Dreamborn Villain King Deity with the ability Above the Rules, numbered at the bottom of the text box 01/36 and 1/8 on the two front cards, with the back card's 001/250 number partly hidden.

Now the Hades. There are three serialized versions, each with its own art: one numbered to 250 for a Challenge Top 8, one numbered to 36 labelled for the Championships, and one numbered to 8 labelled for the World Championship. All three print the same card: an 8-cost Hades - Dark Usurper, a Dreamborn Villain King Deity, whose ability Above the Rules reads "Whenever this character quests, you may reveal your inkwell. If you reveal 5 or more Titan character cards with different names, you win the game. Otherwise, exert all cards in your inkwell."

Its collector line marks it as set 15, Into the Inkdark, which Ravensburger has dated to Q1 2027, so it is not legal anywhere yet. The win condition is narrower than it looks. Through Hyperia City, Lorcast lists exactly five Titan characters - Hydros, Lythos, Pyros and Stratos from Into the Inklands, and Arges from Ursula's Return - so on today's pool you need one of each in your inkwell, all from sets that are out of Core. All five are at least inkable. Whether Into the Inkdark prints more Titans is not public yet. Character classifications explained has how the game uses classifications like Titan.

CCQs: the 128-seat road to a Championship

A Challenge Championship Qualifier is a third-party event that Ravensburger supports rather than runs. Its term sheet for organizers sets the rules:

  • Size. A minimum player cap of 128.
  • Format. Core Constructed or Infinity Constructed only.
  • Deadline. Every '26-'27 CCQ must be completed by 24 July 2027.
  • The prize that matters. First place gets a Championship invite. Organizers can add cash prizes, but Ravensburger does not fund them.
  • Platform. The event must run on the Ravensburger Play Hub.

Two calendar rules decide what you can play when. No CCQ may be held in the seven days that start on a set's prerelease, and a CCQ held in the seven days that start on its global release day must be Infinity Constructed; the term sheet's own examples count the prerelease or release day as day one. For Hyperia City, prerelease on 16 October and on sale everywhere on 23 October per Ravensburger's press release, that means no CCQs from 16 to 22 October and Infinity-only CCQs from 23 to 29 October. The Louisville CCQ on 24-25 October is billed as an Infinity event, which fits.

The CCQ prize card is Mother Knows Best. Louisville's page lists a non-foil copy for participation, a foil copy for the Top 32 and a playmat for the Top 8, and Ravensburger's CCQ slide for Challenge weekends says the same Mother Knows Best prizing will be available there.

These are the upcoming CCQs on Ravensburger's Challenge page, plus the one at the London Challenge, with details from each organizer's own listing where it gives them:

DateWhereFormatWhat the listing says
24-25 Oct 2026Louisville, Kentucky (Through the Decades Collectibles)Infinity$60 entry
7-8 Nov 2026Chattanooga, Tennessee (Chattanooga Comic Con)CorePlay Hub lists it on 7 November, capped at 500; a Comic Con badge is also needed

28-29 Nov 2026Fenton, Michigan (Tri-County Collectibles)CorePlay Hub lists 128 players
12 Dec 2026Saint Peters, Missouri (Collectors Store)Core$35 entry and a $5,000 cash prize pool; the listing says there is a cap but does not give it

The list is not the whole circuit. Ravensburger's D23 announcement says the D23 CCQ in August offered "the first invite" to the '26-'27 North American Championship, and that event is not on the page, so invites were already going out before this list was written. The Ravensburger Play Hub is where new ones appear.

Local Qualifiers start at a Set Championship

Ravensburger's Challenge page introduces Local Qualifiers in one short paragraph: play Set Championship events at your local store in North America and Europe for a chance to enter one, and win the Local Qualifier to earn a seat at an upcoming Championship.

That is as far as Ravensburger's Challenge page goes. It does not say how many players from each Set Championship move on, how big a Local Qualifier is or where they run. LorcanaPlayer, reporting what Ravensburger laid out around its D23 CCQ, says the top two at participating Set Championships are invited to 128-player Local Qualifiers. Treat that as reported until Ravensburger says it.

What is published is the Set Championship itself. Ravensburger's Hyperia City instructions for stores give four weekends, all in January 2027: 2-3, 9-10, 16-17 and 23-24 January. So the Local Qualifier road through Hyperia City does not open until then. The rest of the kit:

  • Format. Core Constructed, at Competitive rules enforcement, the middle of the Tournament Rules' three levels.
  • Minimum. At least eight players with legal decks, or the store must cancel and return the kit.
  • Rounds. 60-minute best-of-three Swiss, then a best-of-three top cut sized by attendance.
  • Staff. At least one judge, who cannot also play.
  • Prizes. An alternate-art Honey Lemon - Testing the Limits promo: a non-foil copy for every participant while supplies last, a foil copy for each of the Top 8, and a Champion playmat for the winner.
PlayersSwiss roundsTop cut

The instructions do not mention Local Qualifiers at all. If your store's January event is a route to one, the store should be able to tell you before you register. For where Set Championship promos sit among Lorcana's other promos, see Lorcana promo cards explained.

The Youth Division

The Disney Lorcana Trading Card Game Challenge Youth Division logo: a purple shield with a gold border, the Disney Lorcana wordmark at the top, CHALLENGE in large gold letters across a ribbon, YOUTH DIVISION in white beneath it, and the gold Lorcana compass emblem at the bottom.

Ravensburger's Challenge page promises a dedicated youth tournament at every Challenge, in two brackets, ages 8-12 and 13-17, with a promo card and a playmat available only to youth players. It says registration details are still to come.

London's organizer page already lists its youth event. There, the youth main event starts on Saturday 14 November, Core Constructed, best-of-three Swiss with a top cut, and the entry includes a Syndrome - Out for Revenge promo; the base card is a Wilds Unknown Super Rare. Every youth registration comes with a free pass for one non-playing guardian, who has to stay with the player. Guardians can join side events but not the main events. A youth ticket holder cannot also buy the Friday main event, and a youth player's account must be linked to a registered adult's.

Where it ends: Championships and Worlds

Season 2's World Championship comes first. Ravensburger's Hyperia City store kit dates it 4-6 December 2026, and Ravensburger's European Championship recap says Ryan Miller announced it for Aulani in Hawaii. North America's and Europe's Season 2 Championships each sent their Top 8, under the Challenge page's rules: see the North America Championship results and the European Championship results.

You can play alongside it at home. The store kit asks stores to run World Championship Celebration events in Infinity Constructed from Worlds weekend until 20 December, and every participant gets a Minnie Mouse - Amethyst Champion promo while supplies last. Per the kit it matches the foil version Worlds attendees receive, and it is printed in English in every country except Japan. Infinity's ban list is one card long, Hiram Flaversham - Toymaker, under Tournament Rules 1.6.2.

The Season of Villainy's own Championships have no dates on Ravensburger's Challenge page yet. The page still shows the 2025-26 Championships, and the organizer pages simply name the prize: a North American Championship invite at Yakima, a European Championship invite at the Ravensburger museum, and invites to the next Asia Championship from Bangkok.

Who goes to the next Worlds from this season is only partly published. Bangkok's champion gets an invite, per its organizer. Ravensburger's Challenge slides promise regional Championship invites from Main Event 1, Main Event 2 and the CCQ, but no Worlds invite from any of them. LorcanaPlayer reports that the Main Event 1 winner also qualifies for Worlds, but I did not find that on Ravensburger's pages. The golden Hades labels do confirm one thing: there will be a Hades numbered to 36 at the Championships and one numbered to 8 at the World Championship.

Which road to take

This part is opinion, built on the rules above.

  1. If you play at a store and do not travel, your route is the January Set Championship, then a Local Qualifier if your store's event feeds one. It costs the least and is the least documented, so ask the store first.
  2. If you can travel for a weekend, a store CCQ is the cleanest single shot: one invite, a cap between 128 and 500 in the listings above, and the format printed on the listing.
  3. If Infinity is your format, you have the 216-player Infinity CCQ at Challenges that use the updated format, plus any store CCQ run as Infinity. Organizers can pick Infinity at any time, and a CCQ in a set's release week has to be Infinity, like Louisville.
  4. If you are going to a Challenge anyway, play Main Event 1 if you can take the Friday. At full caps it hands out more invites per entrant, and it is the only one of the three with a golden Hades.
  5. If you are under 18, decide between the Youth Division and a main event before you buy: at London the youth ticket rules out the Friday main event, and the youth event and Main Event 2 both start on Saturday morning.

Frequently Asked Questions

When is the next Disney Lorcana Challenge?
The next Disney Lorcana Challenge on Ravensburger's English-language calendar for the 2026-27 Season of Villainy is in Bangkok, Thailand on 31 October-1 November 2026, followed by London on 13-15 November and Tampa, Florida on 18-20 December. Ravensburger's Challenge page lists eleven Challenges in all, running to Düsseldorf on 23-25 July 2027: five in Europe, five in North America and one in Asia.
How do you qualify for a Disney Lorcana Championship in 2026-27?
In Europe and North America in the 2026-27 Disney Lorcana season there are four published routes to a regional Championship invite: finish in the Top 32 (plus anyone tied on points) of a Challenge's Main Event 1, finish in the Top 8 of its Main Event 2, win the 216-player Infinity CCQ that runs alongside those two main events, or win a store-run Challenge Championship Qualifier. A fifth route, the new Local Qualifiers fed by store Set Championships, sends its winner to a Championship too, but Ravensburger's Challenge page does not say how many players reach one.
What is the difference between Main Event 1 and Main Event 2 at a Lorcana Challenge?
Under Ravensburger's 2026-27 Disney Lorcana Challenge format (the Bangkok Challenge runs a single main event instead), Main Event 1 runs Friday to Sunday for up to 4,096 players and ends in a Top 8 playoff; its Top 32, plus anyone tied on points, get regional Championship invites, and its Top 8 get a serialized golden Hades - Dark Usurper. Main Event 2 runs Saturday to Sunday for up to 1,280 players with no top cut; its Top 8 get Championship invites and it awards no golden Hades. Both are Core Constructed, and a player cannot enter both.
What is a Lorcana CCQ?
A CCQ, or Challenge Championship Qualifier, is a third-party Disney Lorcana tournament supported by Ravensburger whose winner earns an invite to a regional Championship. Under Ravensburger's 2026-27 term sheet a CCQ must have a player cap of at least 128, must be Core or Infinity Constructed, must run on the Ravensburger Play Hub and must finish by 24 July 2027. No CCQ may run in the seven days starting on a set's prerelease, and CCQs in the seven days starting on a set's global release day must be Infinity Constructed.
What are Lorcana Local Qualifiers?
Local Qualifiers are a new tier in Disney Lorcana's 2026-27 organized play in North America and Europe. Players reach one through Set Championship events at their local game store, and the winner of a Local Qualifier earns a seat at an upcoming regional Championship, per Ravensburger's Challenge page. Ravensburger's Challenge page does not say how many players advance from each Set Championship; Hyperia City's Set Championships run on four weekends in January 2027.
When and where is the 2026 Disney Lorcana World Championship?
The Season 2 Disney Lorcana World Championship runs 4-6 December 2026, per Ravensburger's Hyperia City store kit instructions, at Aulani in Hawaii, per Ravensburger's European Championship recap. Stores can run Infinity Constructed celebration events from Worlds weekend until 20 December, with a Minnie Mouse - Amethyst Champion promo for every participant while supplies last.
Can kids play in Disney Lorcana Challenge events?
Yes. Ravensburger is adding a Youth Division at every 2026-27 Disney Lorcana Challenge, in two age brackets, 8-12 and 13-17, with a promo card and playmat available only to youth players. At the London Challenge, the youth event is Core Constructed on Saturday 14 November, each youth entry includes a free pass for one non-playing guardian, and a youth ticket holder cannot also enter the Friday main event.
