Disney Lorcana Digital Game: What's Confirmed So Far

Ravensburger's entire public case for a Disney Lorcana digital game is one graphic, two sentences of copy, and a QR code.

That graphic went up on disneylorcana.com on August 14, 2026, as one line item inside a much bigger D23 news dump that also covered the new Illustrious rarity and the next two sets - covered in our sets-in-order breakdown. Buried in with all of that, Ravensburger's Head of TCGs, Elaine Chase, said this in the company's own release: "By allowing fans to experience each Disney Lorcana TCG card wherever they are logged in, I'm positive even more Disney fans will want to jump into one of the most open communities in all of gaming."

That's it. That's the whole announcement. Here's what's actually confirmed in it, where three different outlets covering it disagree, and what two other card games that already made this exact jump actually shipped, and when.

What Ravensburger actually announced

The teaser graphic shows a laptop and a phone, both displaying the Disney Lorcana Trading Card Game logo, under a headline in Ravensburger's own screaming caps: "A DIGITAL GAME IS IN THE WORKS." Under that, a call to action - "Sign up now to be the first to know when you can try it out!" - points to a standalone signup page at DisneyLorcana.com/digital.

That signup page is the whole of what's public. It carries the same headline, the same call to action, a birthdate field, and one line of fine print: "You must be 13 or over to sign up for updates." There is no name for the client, no price, no beta date, no platform list beyond what the graphic itself shows. "Desktop and mobile" is Ravensburger's own framing in the D23 release; the graphic backs it up by showing exactly those two devices and nothing else - no console art, no third device.

The promise: every card, not just Core Constructed

Read Chase's quote again: "each Disney Lorcana TCG card," not "each Core Constructed card." That distinction is the actual story here, because right now those are two very different pools.

Paper Core Constructed currently allows only Fabled onward - five of the thirteen released sets, as our sets-in-order breakdown covers in detail. Everything from The First Chapter through Reign of Jafar - eight sets, released between August 2023 and May 2025 - is legal only in the eternal Infinity Constructed format on paper, and only if you can find a physical copy.

Take Mickey Mouse - Brave Little Tailor, a Ruby Legendary from The First Chapter with 5 Strength, 5 Willpower and Evasive, numbered 115 of 204. Lorcast's own legality field reports it flatly: not Core legal, Infinity legal only. Three years after it was printed, Lorcast prices a single non-foil copy at $15.97 and the foil at $84.52. If Chase's "each card" is literal rather than aspirational marketing copy, a card like this stops being something you have to hunt a 2023 print run for and becomes something a digital account just has.

That promise means almost nothing for a card like Buzz Lightyear - Grounded, a two-month-old Emerald Common from Attack of the Vine! (released July 17, 2026) that Lorcast prices at five cents non-foil. The accessibility argument for a digital client isn't about entry-level commons like this one - those are already close to free. It's about the chase tier and the eight rotated-out sets, which is exactly where Lorcana's actual cost and actual barrier to a complete collection live.

Nobody agrees on when

Ravensburger's own materials give zero information on timing - not a beta date, not a launch window, not even a season. That silence is loud enough that TheGamer's coverage called it out directly on August 15, arguing the announcement "really should have come alongside some form of date." Lorcana Player's recap of the D23 panel, published August 26, described the framing on stage - not a direct Ravensburger quote, but its own account of the room - as "not around the corner."

One outlet breaks from that consensus. Bleeding Cool's August 16 coverage states flatly that the game "won't arrive until sometime in 2027." No other outlet covering the same panel corroborates a specific year, and 2027 appears nowhere on Ravensburger's own release or signup page. Treat that date as one outlet's reporting, not a confirmed fact, until Ravensburger's own site says otherwise.

Two TCGs already made this jump

Lorcana wouldn't be the first physical TCG to go digital. Two direct precedents exist, plus one card game that took a completely different approach to "digital" - worth lining up before guessing at Lorcana's own timeline.

The two real precedents for what Chase is describing - a client that plays the actual tournament ruleset, not a stripped-down mobile spinoff - took different paths to launch: MTG Arena ran almost exactly a year from its open beta to a full launch, while Pokemon TCG Live took closer to fifteen months from its first regional beta. Their platform rollouts differed just as sharply - Arena spent two and a half years as Windows-only before mobile arrived, while Pokemon TCG Live launched on PC, iOS and Android together on day one. TCG Pocket moved far faster, eight months from reveal to worldwide launch, but it isn't a counterexample - it's a different, much smaller kind of game, built around 20-card decks and gacha-style packs rather than Lorcana's actual six-ink, Shift-and-Sing-Together ruleset.

Lorcana's own card pool is already past 3,000 unique cards across thirteen sets - the figure Ravensburger itself gave during the panel's third-anniversary celebration - with an Illustrious rarity and two more sets - Into the Inkdark and Cosmic Quest - confirmed on the way before any digital beta has a date. Simulating all of that, including the eight rotated-out sets Chase's quote implies, is a build closer in scope to Arena or TCG Live than to Pocket's stripped-down format. Since Ravensburger hasn't given a beta date yet, the clock those other two games ran on hasn't started.

What Ravensburger hasn't said

None of the following appears in Ravensburger's release, the signup page, or any outlet's coverage of the D23 panel:

• A name for the client. Every outlet, this post included, is describing it by what it does, not what it's called.
• Pricing or a business model. Free-to-play with purchases, a paid client, or something else entirely - nothing has been said either way.
• Whether owning a physical card grants anything digital. No code-redemption system, no companion-app link between a paper pack and a digital copy, has been mentioned anywhere.
• Specific operating systems or storefronts. "Desktop and mobile" is the full extent of the platform language; no Steam listing, no App Store page, no console version has been named.
• Region availability. The signup page carries no region restriction in its own text as of this post.
