Genshin 7.2 Hour of Ruin: Banners, Primogems, Deadlines

Version 7.2 went live on November 4 with Mitya, a Furina rerun and two new Snezhnaya areas. The notices put a number on 960 Primogems, and the first hard deadline is the banners closing on November 24. Here is what is live, what is coming, and in what order to do it.

What Version 7.2 Puts on the Table

Version 7.2, "Hour of Ruin," went live on November 4, 2026, after maintenance that began at 06:00 UTC+8 and was estimated at five hours. The headline additions, per HoYoverse's Version 7.2 Update Details notice, are a new 5-star Electro Catalyst, Mitya, a 4-star Electro sword user, Valeriy, two new Snezhnaya areas (Novokitezhgrad and Wingspan Peak), two new Archon Quests (Chapter VII Act V, "Hour of Ruin," and Act VI, "A Yesterday Sent From Beyond"), and a new 5-star Catalyst, Starsealed Edict.

The version is a few days old as you read this, so this post is a status board rather than a preview: what you can still do, what has a number attached, and which deadline comes first. The 7.1 events that expired on November 2 and 3 are covered, in past tense, in our 7.1 Phase II events post.

The Banners Close November 24

HoYoverse's Version 7.2 Event Wishes Notice runs all three banners from the version update to 17:59 on November 24. That is a 20-day window from launch, so as of today there are 16 days left.

BannerHeadlinerBoosted 4-stars
Myriad Patterns UnfoldMitya (5-star Electro)Valeriy, Charlotte, Rosaria
Chanson of Many WatersFurina (5-star Hydro, "Endless Solo of Solitude")Valeriy, Charlotte, Rosaria
Epitome InvocationStarsealed Edict (5-star Catalyst) and Splendor of Tranquil Waters (5-star Sword)The Dockhand's Assistant, Prospector's Drill, Dawning Frost, Rainslasher, Rust

Three details from the notice change how you spend:

  • The two character banners share one pity counter. The notice says the guarantee count of "Character Event Wish" and "Character Event Wish-2" is shared and accumulates between both. Pulls on the Furina banner move you toward a Mitya guarantee and the other way round. The mechanics of pity itself are in our wish and pity guide.
  • Valeriy is the 4-star to plan around. He is boosted on both character banners, and after the banners end HoYoverse says he joins the standard "Wanderlust Invocation" in the next version.
  • The weapon banner uses Epitomized Path. The notice says you can chart a course toward a promotional 5-star weapon, "such as" Starsealed Edict (Catalyst) or Splendor of Tranquil Waters (Sword), and points to the in-game Wish details for the rules.

HoYoverse's Version 7.2 Events Preview panels for the Furina banner, with Valeriy, Charlotte and Rosaria as boosted 4-stars, and the Epitome Invocation weapon banner showing Starsealed Edict, Splendor of Tranquil Waters and five 4-star weapons.

Mitya and Valeriy: What HoYoverse Confirms

HoYoverse's update notice describes Mitya as an Electro DPS character who lets the party trigger Stellar-Conduct and deals Stellar-Conduct reaction damage in different ways. While he is in the party, his Polestar Field follows the current active character in real time. Valeriy is described as a support character who provides Electro-related buffs and shields.

Starsealed Edict, per the same notice, raises the wearer's CRIT DMG. Using an Elemental Skill grants "Crystal Compounding," which raises Elemental Mastery. While that effect is active, nearby party members triggering Elemental Reactions grant "Law of Combustion," raising Elemental Mastery further, and entering the Radiance: Stellar-Conduct state adds Stellar-Conduct CRIT DMG. The notice states it can trigger off-field.

What the notice does not give is kit numbers, so this post does not rank Mitya's best weapon or team. One known issue is worth knowing before you pull for a late constellation: the 7.2 Known Issues post says Mitya's scarf effects can display abnormally, mainly at C6, and will be fixed in a later update.

The Primogems With Numbers Attached

The Events Overview panels print four Primogem counts. Everything else in the notices is either unquantified or image-only, so I am not guessing at it.

That is 960 Primogems with a stated count in the two limited-time rewards (560 plus 400), and 1,260 if you have also not yet opened the 300 maintenance mail. The 300 issue-fix compensation had a claim deadline of November 7 at 06:00 UTC+8, so it is gone if you missed it. Both compensation payouts required Adventure Rank 5 by 06:00 UTC+8 on November 4.

The archon quest bonus needs Adventure Rank 18 and completion of Act IV, "A Rekviem for the Underworld." Completing "Gunfire in the Silent Lands" in Chapter VII Act I automatically unlocks a Teleport Waypoint to the new areas.

HoYoverse's Version 7.2 Content Preview calendar listing the two Wish banners to 11/24, the Archon Quest Hour of Ruin with 560 Primogems to 12/15, the 400-Primogem Kristall Roots exploration to 2027/01/26, The Grand Defense, Stygian Onslaught from 11/11 and the Imaginarium Theater.

Two other limited items are unquantified in the notices: the Repertoire of Myriad Melodies album "Encounter: Interlude of the Long Journey" has extra Primogems for its performance missions until December 15 (the calendar shows a Primogem icon, no count), and the Grand Defense pays Primogems. The Rewards of Dedication event, "To Temper Thyself and Journey Far," runs from November 2 at 04:00 to January 25, 2027 at 03:59, needs Adventure Rank 14, and gives a chosen character's Stella Fortuna after 8 weekly goals. Each weekly goal requires claiming four Daily Commissions and spending 120 Original Resin on one day, five times in the week. If you are already spending resin, plan the days so they line up; our resin guide covers the cap.

The Grand Defense and the Free 4-Star

"The Grand Defense: Defy the Unjust Judgment" is available throughout Version 7.2; HoYoverse's Content Preview calendar shows it running November 4 to December 16. You reinforce combat zones to lower the threat level of the Holy Soil phenomenon, and once it falls to a certain point you can invite a 4-star character of your choice. The event page shows a roster of eight to choose from. Rewards named are Primogems and Crown of Insight, with no Primogem count in the notices.

Bug-fix history is relevant: HoYoverse patched a teleport and challenge-start block in this event on November 4 at 14:40 and a stage-exit issue on November 5. If it misbehaves, log out to the login screen and back in, which is the notice's own advice.

Stygian Onslaught: Wavebinder and Stellar Glimmer

The next Stygian Onslaught runs from 10:00 on November 11 to 03:59 on December 15, with the Disturbance Outbreak until 03:59 on November 21, per the Events Overview panel. Its three bosses are Wavebinder, Emperor of Fire and Iron, and Radiant Moongecko. The panel recommends Stellar Glimmer and Electro characters against Wavebinder, Hydro characters against the Emperor (and warns against Pyro), and Geo and healing characters against the Moongecko. The panel shows reward icons, including Primogems, but prints no counts.

Wavebinder is a new Volkodlak found in Novokitezhgrad. Per the update notice, it periodically drinks a hot drink to fill Courage, enters a Valiant state with more ferocious attacks and greatly raised Elemental and Physical RES, and then drains Courage until it leaves the state. Electro damage, or Electro damage counted as Stellar Glimmer reaction damage, reduces accumulated Courage or ends Valiant sooner, and Stellar Glimmer reactions also disrupt its drinking. How the difficulty tiers and Primogem milestones work in general is in our Stygian Onslaught guide.

Spiral Abyss and Imaginarium Theater Changes

The update notice schedules both Abyss phases, and both are keyed to Stellar reactions:

  • November 16 (Phase 1). Floor 11 gives all party members 60% Electro DMG Bonus and 60% Geo DMG Bonus. Floor 12 first half raises Lunar-Crystallize DMG by 75%; the second half adds 200 Elemental Mastery to all party members. The Blessing of the Abyssal Moon is Resounding Moon: a stack for each Superconduct or Stellar-Conduct reaction, up to one per 0.1 seconds, and at 3 stacks a shockwave of True DMG fires, at most once every 4 seconds.
  • December 16 (Phase 2). Floor 11 gives 60% Cryo DMG Bonus and 60% Anemo DMG Bonus. Floor 12 first half raises Stellar Glimmer DMG by 75%, the second half raises the active character's Anemo DMG by 75%. The blessing is Glistening Moon: a stack for Stellar-Conduct or Stellar Swirl damage, a shockwave at 6 stacks, at most once every 6 seconds.

Both phases also change the Floor 11 to 12 monster lineups. The baseline rules of the mode are in our Spiral Abyss guide.

The Imaginarium Theater season that started on November 1 is already running; a new season arrives on December 1, requiring Pyro, Hydro and Geo characters. The opening characters are Arlecchino, Bennett, Furina, Xingqiu, Navia and Illuga, and the special guest stars are Chasca, Varesa, Kinich and Iansan. Arlecchino, Linnea, Ifa and Nefer each get a new Thespian Trick from Wolfy. Furina being both a banner headliner and a December 1 opening character is a fact from the two notices, not a recommendation; our Theater guide covers the mode itself.

Smaller Additions Worth Knowing

  • Shotguns and Edge of Survival. Two new shotguns, "Sosruko's Flame" and "Apsat's Mountain Hunt," come from World Quests, and Edge of Survival adds three stages ("Hammer and Anvil," "Harbor Under Heavy Guard," "The Calamity-Torn Old City"). Background on firearm gameplay is in our Shadow Realm guide.
  • The Shadow Realm area recedes. After the quest chain "An Ancient Song of Flowing Crystal and Stone Chests," the third-person-shooter area east of Wingspan Peak recedes so you can add characters to your party and explore freely.
  • Prime Ice Constructs. The batch deletion limit rises from 100 to 200, there is an "Only Friends" option for sending and receiving, and constructs are no longer sent near Statues of The Seven, Adventurers' Guilds, Blacksmiths or Meeting Points.
  • Genius Invokation TCG. Varka arrives as a character card, and "The Forge Realm's Temper: Endless Swarm" returns. See our TCG guide.

Deadline-Order Checklist

  1. Now: claim the 300-Primogem maintenance mail if it is still unopened (mail lasts 30 days, but the claim must happen before 7.2 ends).
  2. November 11, 10:00: Stygian Onslaught opens; the Disturbance Outbreak ends November 21, 03:59.
  3. November 16: Spiral Abyss Phase 1 resets with the Electro and Geo Floor 11 buffs.
  4. November 24, 17:59: Mitya, Furina and Epitome Invocation banners close. Decide on pulls before this.
  5. December 1: new Imaginarium Theater season (Pyro, Hydro, Geo).
  6. December 15: the 560-Primogem Archon Quest bonus ends at 14:59, the Repertoire bonus ends, and Stygian Onslaught closes at 03:59.
  7. December 16: Spiral Abyss Phase 2; The Grand Defense closes per the calendar.
  8. January 26, 2027, 14:59: the 400-Primogem exploration bonus closes, and the Rewards of Dedication event closes January 25 at 03:59.

The largest counted payout is the Archon Quest bonus: 560 Primogems, gated behind Adventure Rank 18 and Act IV. If Act IV is not done, that is where to start.

Frequently Asked Questions

When does the Mitya banner end in Genshin Impact 7.2?
The Mitya banner, "Myriad Patterns Unfold," and the Furina rerun "Chanson of Many Waters" both end at 17:59 on November 24, 2026, per HoYoverse's Version 7.2 Event Wishes Notice. The Epitome Invocation weapon banner with Starsealed Edict and Splendor of Tranquil Waters ends at the same time. The two character banners share one guarantee count.
How many Primogems are in Genshin Impact 7.2?
HoYoverse's Events Overview prints two counts: 560 Primogems for completing the Archon Quest "Hour of Ruin" by 14:59 on December 15, and 400 for the "Where Kristall Roots Run Deep" exploration missions by 14:59 on January 26, 2027. The 300-Primogem maintenance compensation adds to that if still unclaimed. The Grand Defense, Stygian Onslaught and Repertoire of Myriad Melodies also pay Primogems, but the notices do not state counts.
Is Valeriy worth pulling for in Genshin Impact 7.2?
HoYoverse describes Valeriy as a 4-star Electro sword support who gives Electro-related buffs and shields. He is boosted on both character banners, and the notice says he joins the Wanderlust Invocation standard banner in the next version after the 7.2 banners end, so there is no need to spend specifically to get him.
What does Starsealed Edict do?
Starsealed Edict is a 5-star Catalyst that increases CRIT DMG. Using an Elemental Skill grants Crystal Compounding, which raises Elemental Mastery; with that active, party members triggering reactions grant Law of Combustion for more Elemental Mastery, and Radiance: Stellar-Conduct adds Stellar-Conduct CRIT DMG. It can trigger off-field, per HoYoverse's 7.2 update notice.
What changes in the Spiral Abyss in Genshin 7.2?
Phase 1 on November 16 gives Floor 11 a 60% Electro and 60% Geo DMG Bonus, with Resounding Moon as the blessing. Phase 2 on December 16 gives Floor 11 a 60% Cryo and 60% Anemo DMG Bonus, with Glistening Moon as the blessing. Both phases change the Floor 11 to 12 monsters, per HoYoverse's update notice.
What is the next Imaginarium Theater season in Genshin 7.2?
A new season starts on December 1, 2026 and requires Pyro, Hydro and Geo characters. The opening characters are Arlecchino, Bennett, Furina, Xingqiu, Navia and Illuga; the guest stars are Chasca, Varesa, Kinich and Iansan.
