The Witcher 3 Remastered Rewards: Fire Horse, Scarlet Crest
Ninety minutes of Twitch bought Roach a 90-Stamina saddle that only one saddle in the game beats, and it could be looted before the prologue ends. Here is every Remastered reward in the Vizima chest, how each one was and is claimed (the Twitch drops closed on 27 October), and what the Fire Horse and Scarlet Crest sets are actually worth.

Ninety minutes of watching other people play The Witcher 3 on Twitch bought Roach a saddle worth 90 Stamina. That ties the eight Toussaint saddles from Blood and Wine, and the Witcher wiki's horse equipment list has exactly one saddle above it. On a new save, anyone who earned it could loot it before Geralt left the prologue.
That saddle is part of the Fire Horse set, one of two new gear sets CD PROJEKT RED has attached to The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — Remastered. The other is the Scarlet Crest armour, a four-piece medium set that sits in the same chest and can't be worn before level 40. The Fire Horse drops were time-limited and the campaign ended on 27 October, so that set can no longer be earned. Here is what each reward is, how it was or is claimed, where the chest is, and what both sets are worth once they are in your inventory.
The rewards and what each one takes
CD PROJEKT RED's My Rewards page says the items it hands out wait for you in the Royal Palace in Vizima, with a letter from Yennefer in your inventory to point the way. Its Twitch Drops page says the same about the Fire Horse pieces. The one exception is a haircut, covered below.
| Reward | What it takes | Level to equip | Ends |
|---|---|---|---|
| Fire Horse saddlebags, blinders and saddle | Watched Drops-enabled Witcher 3 streams on Twitch: 30 minutes, 1 hour and 1 hour 30 minutes (campaign closed) | None listed | Ended 27 October 2026 |
| Scarlet Crest armor, gauntlets, trousers and boots | Link a CD PROJEKT RED account through My Rewards | 40 | No end date announced |
| Wolf Mask and the Rabble-Rouser hairstyle | My Rewards, for also owning Cyberpunk 2077 | None listed | No end date announced |
| Armor of a Thousand Flowers set and its two swords | My Rewards, from the 2022 next-gen update | 7 | No end date announced |
Two platform limits sit on top of that table. The Drops page says the Fire Horse drops are exclusive to Remastered, and My Rewards files the Scarlet Crest set under a tab labelled PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2. The Thousand Flowers set sits under a separate tab labelled PC, PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.
The Witcher wiki puts two more older rewards in the same chest: the White Tiger of the West armour and the Nine-Tailed Vixen swords, both level 11, both added by the 2022 next-gen update for owning the Complete Edition. A fresh save can find a good deal more than the Scarlet Crest set in there.

The two Cyberpunk 2077 extras work differently. CDPR's page says the mask goes into the Vizima chest, and the wiki notes that in game it is called the Wolf Bandana, not the Wolf Mask. The Rabble-Rouser haircut doesn't go in the chest: CDPR says it is added to the list of styles at any barber. It works the other way too. CDPR lists the Wild Hunt Jacket and the Gwynbleidd sword in Cyberpunk 2077 for owning The Witcher 3.
The Fire Horse drops ended on 27 October
The campaign ran from 29 September, the day Remastered launched, to 27 October. This section records how it worked for anyone who earned the set. CDPR's page listed three watch-time thresholds, and its names for two of the pieces don't match what you get in the game:
| Watch time | CDPR's page calls it | In-game item, per the Witcher wiki | Stat |
|---|---|---|---|
| 30 minutes | Fire Horse Saddlebags | Fire Horse saddlebags | +110 maximum inventory weight |
| 1 hour | Fire Horse Mask | Fire Horse blinders | +60 to Roach's fear level |
| 1 hour 30 minutes | Fire Horse Armor | Fire Horse saddle | 90 Stamina |

The rules, from CDPR's Drops FAQ, as they applied while the campaign ran:
- Any eligible channel counts. A channel in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt category with Drops enabled shows a notice above the chat. You can split your time across channels, but watching two at once doesn't speed anything up.
- The timer pauses. It stops when you leave and picks up when you come back, so you don't need one unbroken session.
- Browser or phone only. Drops were earned and claimed in a PC or Mac web browser or in the Twitch app on Android and iOS. Twitch apps on consoles, smart TVs and other TV apps didn't support them.
- One of each. Every reward is one-time only.
- The game wasn't needed to earn them, since drops landed in your Twitch inventory either way, but the items only exist in Remastered.
The deadline: CDPR's page gave 27 October and no time. Kyber's Corner, citing Twitch's own campaign listing, put the end at 2:59 a.m. PDT on 27 October, which is 09:59 UTC. CDPR's rule was blunt: if you hadn't reached the watch time by the end of the campaign, you didn't get the reward. CDPR has not said whether the set will return.
What the Fire Horse set is worth
These figures come from the Witcher wiki's item pages and its horse equipment list. CDPR's Drops page shows the set but prints no numbers.
| Slot | Fire Horse | The best of the rest | Where that comes from |
|---|---|---|---|
| Saddle | 90 Stamina | Caparison of Lament at 100; eight Toussaint saddles also at 90 | A choice in the Hearts of Stone finale; Blood and Wine |
| Blinders | +60 fear level | +60 is the ceiling, shared with eight other sets | Skellige races, the Undvik DLC set, Blood and Wine |
| Saddlebags | +110 inventory weight | Beauclair saddlebags, also +110 | Blood and Wine |
Two of the three pieces tie the best in their slot. The saddle loses only to the Caparison of Lament, which you get by letting Gaunter O'Dimm take Olgierd's soul and choosing "To be as swift as the wind". And the base game's own best tack, the Zerrikanian set from the Skellige races, tops out at 80 Stamina and +100 carry weight.
What changes is when you get it. The Toussaint gear needs you to reach Toussaint. The Fire Horse set is in a chest you walk past at the end of the prologue, and the wiki lists no level requirement on any of the three pieces. For a new character, that means near-endgame tack from the first visit to Vizima.
The saddlebags are the piece you'll notice most. In the Remastered skill tree, Strong Back gives +20, +40 or +60 carry weight by rank, per the wiki, so +110 is worth almost twice a maxed Strong Back. One exception: if you play with the Bard's Ballad preset's Ignore Item Weight option switched on, CDPR's patch notes say you can carry as much as you want, and the saddlebags stop mattering.
Our horse gear guide has every race, the Toussaint saddles and the Caparison of Lament choice in full.
Scarlet Crest: level 40 gear you can loot in the prologue

| Piece | Armour | Quen intensity | Adrenaline gain | Piercing | Bludgeoning | Slashing | Weight |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Scarlet Crest armor | 230 | +15% | +7% | +23% | +27% | +21% | 2.39 |
| Scarlet Crest trousers | 87 | +10% | +5% | +5% | +8% | +4% | 0.68 |
| Scarlet Crest boots | 87 | +5% | +7% | +6% | +10% | +3% | 0.61 |
| Scarlet Crest gauntlets | 83 | +5% | +3% | +6% | +7% | +5% | 0.46 |
| Full set | 487 | +35% | +22% | +40% | +52% | +33% | 4.14 |
The numbers are the Witcher wiki's, and they match the in-game tooltips Vulkk screenshotted piece by piece. All four are relic-tier medium armour with a required level of 40. The chest piece has one upgrade slot, and the other three tooltips show none. Neither the tooltips nor the wiki's set page list a set bonus.
That level is the catch. A new character loots the set during Imperial Audience, which the wiki lists as a level 2 quest, and then carries it, or stashes it, for most of the game. New Game Plus pushes it higher: Vulkk's NG+ screenshot shows the chest piece at Required Level 62 with 340 armour.
Is it worth wearing at 40? Compare Manticore armor, the Blood and Wine witcher chest piece at the same level: 240 armour, three upgrade slots and +25% critical hit damage, per the wiki, and it counts toward a witcher set bonus. The Scarlet Crest chest piece gives up 10 armour, two slots and the set bonus. What it has instead is low weight and a stat line. The whole set weighs 4.14, less than half the 9.82 of the Manticore chest piece alone. And its two headline stats, Quen intensity and Adrenaline gain, point straight at the Remastered skill tree.
That tree is where the set makes sense. All four pieces are medium armour, which is what Wolf, Griffin, Manticore and Viper School Techniques read in the Remastered General tree; Wolf at rank 3 pays +6% weapon damage and +6% Sign intensity per piece. Adrenaline is the fuel for two Remastered skills that raise Sign intensity: Focus, in the Signs tree, adds 10% Sign intensity per Adrenaline Point at rank 1, and Flood of Anger, in the Combat tree, spends 3 points to cast a Sign at its highest level with up to 150% more intensity. My read: this is armour for a hybrid Quen build, not a tank. Our Remastered skill tree guide has the prerequisite chains to those skills, and our witcher gear guide has the school sets it competes with.
You can keep the look without the stats. Remastered's Reforge changes an item's appearance without touching its stats. CDPR's patch notes say you unlock appearances by adding equipment and crafting diagrams to your inventory, and that only two master craftsmen offer the service, Yoana and Hattori. By that rule, looting the chest should unlock the Scarlet Crest look even if you never wear the armour. CDPR doesn't say whether you can apply the Scarlet Crest look before you reach level 40. Our crafting guide covers the quests that make Yoana and Hattori master craftsmen.
Linking your account on each platform
| Where you play | What CD PROJEKT RED says to do |
|---|---|
| PC: GOG, Steam, Epic Games Store, Battle.net | Sign in to REDlauncher with your CD PROJEKT RED account and launch the game through it |
| PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch 2 | Open MY REWARDS from the game's main menu and log in |
| Twitch Drops, any platform | Connect Twitch in your CD PROJEKT RED account settings, then claim each drop in your Twitch inventory |
Four rules from CDPR's two FAQs:
- You can link Twitch after earning a drop, but a claimed drop expires seven days after you claim it if the accounts still aren't linked.
- One account per registration. My Rewards can only be registered to a single CD PROJEKT RED account. To get the rewards on a second platform, log in to that same account there.
- Registering needs a connection. Once claimed, the rewards are yours offline.
- A new game needs a new login. CDPR's My Rewards FAQ says that if you start a new game, you have to log in again for the rewards to appear in that save. The Drops page doesn't address new saves.
Finding the chest in the Royal Palace
On a new save you reach the palace in Imperial Audience, the last quest of the prologue. The wiki notes you can come back later, once the world map opens up again. On an existing save, CDPR says you can claim at any time, however far into the game you are.
The chest is in Yennefer's room, under a window, per the wiki. Dot Esports' route from the throne room: turn left and go out into the courtyard, walk past the Nilfgaardian nobleman who offers a game of Gwent, take the first left and go through the door, carry on through the room with the fireplace, and turn right. Two chests sit under a window on the left. The rewards are in the left one.
If the chest is empty
Three checks, in this order:
- Is it on your account? CDPR's support site has confirmed that some online rewards, Twitch and Bilibili Drops included, may not appear in game in certain scenarios. It says that if the items show under "CD PROJEKT RED Account" in the main menu, they were granted correctly and you will be able to collect them once a patch fixes it. That article was still live on 25 October.
- Did you open the chest before claiming? Patch 5.01 fixed My Rewards and Twitch Drops not appearing in the Vizima chest if it had been opened before. It reached PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S on 8 October and, in most regions, Nintendo Switch 2 on 19 October. CDPR warns the fix may duplicate some items, and tells you to consider them a bonus.
- Is the drop claimed? CDPR's Drops support article says to claim the drop in your Twitch inventory and log in to the CD PROJEKT RED account connected to the game.
One Switch 2 caveat on check two. CDPR's 19 October Switch 2 notes list the same Vizima chest fix, but they say the patch would be available in most regions that day, with the Japanese version to follow once it passes certification. As of 25 October, CDPR's news feed has no follow-up post on the Japanese release. If you play the Japanese Switch 2 version and don't have Patch 5.01 yet, claim everything before you open the chest for the first time.
What CD PROJEKT RED has not said
- An end time for the Twitch campaign. Its page gave a date only. The 2:59 a.m. PDT figure is Twitch's listing, as reported by Kyber's Corner.
- Whether the Fire Horse set will return. CDPR has not said.
- Any stats for the Fire Horse pieces. The figures above are the wiki's.
- Whether Reforge lets you use the Scarlet Crest look before level 40.
- When the Japanese Switch 2 version gets Patch 5.01, and with it the chest fix. The 19 October notes say only that it follows certification.
Quick Action Checklist
- The Fire Horse Twitch campaign is over (it ended 27 October). If you earned and claimed drops, make sure your Twitch and CD PROJEKT RED accounts are linked; CDPR's FAQ says a claimed drop expires seven days after claiming if they aren't.
- On PC, sign in to REDlauncher and launch through it. On console, open MY REWARDS from the main menu.
- Check the CD PROJEKT RED Account section of the main menu to confirm the items were granted.
- Loot the chest in Yennefer's room in the Royal Palace in Vizima: during Imperial Audience on a new save, or any time on an existing one.
- If you have the Fire Horse set, put it on Roach straight away. Two of the three pieces tie the best in their slot.
- Stash the Scarlet Crest set until level 40, or pick it up for its Reforge appearance alone.
- On Japanese Nintendo Switch 2, claim everything before opening the chest for the first time, since Patch 5.01 had not reached that version in CDPR's 19 October notes.
