NARUTO Mythos TCG: The Card Game Already on Shelves
Our own coverage of this vertical has treated the Naruto card question as a two-way choice: Bandai's NARUTO CARD GAME, which does not release until Summer 2027, or Kayou's collectibles, which are not a game at all. There is a third product neither of those posts mentions. NARUTO Mythos TCG — published by Italy's Cicaboom — has been on European shelves since 13 March 2026, ships with a full public rulebook, and ran a three-day Regional Championship in Paris the week before this was published. Here is what it actually is, and where it leaves the "Bandai vs Kayou" framing.

Our own "Bandai vs Kayou" explainer in this vertical opens with a promise: search "Naruto cards" and you'll find two unrelated products stacked on top of each other, and it sorts out which one you actually want. That framing was accurate on 1 August. It is not accurate today.
There is a third Naruto card product, and it is not a rumor or a Kickstarter. NARUTO Mythos TCG has been sitting on European shelves since 13 March 2026, it ships with a genuine rulebook and a public "How to Play" page, and while this vertical was covering Bandai's giveaway cards and Kayou's rarity codes, Mythos ran a three-day Regional Championship in Montreuil, France, that wrapped on 13 September — three days before this was published. A second Regional is booked for Orlando on 27 September. Neither Bandai's game nor Kayou's collectibles can currently do either of those things: Bandai's NARUTO CARD GAME does not release until Summer 2027, and Kayou's cards have no rules to run a tournament with at all.
So this is not "go deeper on the same two products." It is the thing our own coverage has been missing.
A third Naruto card game you have not heard of
The basics, confirmed straight off the game's official site, narutotcgmythos.com:
- First set: Konoha Shidō ("Leaf Guidance"), 1st Edition, released 13 March 2026 — in Europe first, not the US.
- What it is: a genuine competitive trading card game with a rulebook, deck-building cards, and organized play — not a collectible line like Kayou's.
- Who runs it: an Italian company, Cicaboom Srl, operating the official site, the Organized Play program, and the two Regional Championships held so far.
- Where it has shipped: Italy, the wider EU, the UK and Turkey per Cicaboom's own distributor listings, plus a US pre-release wave that industry trade press dates to August 2026. Who distributes it outside Italy became a live question on 21 September — see the update in the next section.
None of that appears in any of the 13 other posts in this vertical. Not the name, not the publisher, not a single one of its three sets.

Who actually makes it
This is a genuinely tangled corporate picture, and it's worth being precise about who does what rather than flattening it to one name.
The official website is run by Cicaboom Srl, based in Genoa, Italy (VAT IT 02411280999). Cicaboom's own branding is printed directly on the Set 1 boxes and packs — "Designed by Cicaboom, www.cicaboom.com" sits on the packaging next to the NARUTO Mythos TCG logo. Cicaboom also runs the Organized Play program, publishes the roadmap, and hosted the game's public reveal at Spiel Essen in October 2025. Outside its card games, Cicaboom's other listed business is licensed children's collectibles — it also holds a Marvel license for a line called Marvel Mission Arena TCG.
Separately, Zvezdar Toys is the name attached to distribution outside Italy and, per US trade coverage, to bringing the game to American retail. ICv2, a trade publication that covers the collectibles industry, reported on 7 July 2026 that "Zvezdar Toys" would release Mythos TCG: Naruto – Konoha Shidō into US retail on 29 August 2026, five and a half months after the European release. Cicaboom's own Products page lists the regional distributors directly: Manicomix for Italy, and Zvezdar for the wider EU, the UK and Turkey.
So the honest summary, as of when this was first published, was: Cicaboom is the publisher of record and the face of the brand, and Zvezdar is the distribution and retail arm, at least in the US. Nothing on Cicaboom's own site actually spelled out that division the way we've just laid it out — we were reading it off the box art, the official distributor list, and outside trade reporting together, because no single page stated it plainly.
Update, 26 September 2026: that division is no longer the whole picture. On 21 September Cicaboom published an "Important update" on distribution and partners naming a different company, Breakflip, as the "distribution facilitator" for Europe, the UK, North America and Latin America — and stating in writing that "Breakflip is not the distributor of NARUTO Mythos TCG." The announcement does not mention Zvezdar once. Cicaboom's Find a Distributor page now reads "Open to distributors, facilitated by Breakflip" for those same four regions, with no distributor named for any of them, while the Products page still lists Zvezdar for Europe, the UK and Turkey, and Zvezdar's own US site still calls itself an "official distributor" for Europe, the UK and North America. Whether Zvezdar's role has ended, continues underneath Breakflip's coordination, or was simply left out of that one announcement is something none of those pages resolves. We walked through all three side by side in our Breakflip-vs-Zvezdar update. Every Zvezdar statement that follows in this piece should be read as "what Zvezdar, ICv2 and Cicaboom's Products page say," not as a settled fact.
Is it actually licensed
This is the question that matters most, and it's also the one we can answer least completely from primary sourcing alone.
ICv2 describes Mythos TCG: Naruto as "an officially-licensed Naruto TCG based on the anime," explicitly distinguishing it from Bandai's NARUTO CARD GAME, which it frames as manga-based. That is a trade publication that covers licensed collectibles for a living, not a fan blog, and it's the strongest piece of evidence we have. We did not, however, find an explicit "officially licensed by Shueisha" statement anywhere on narutotcgmythos.com itself in the pages we reviewed — no press-kit line, no footer credit naming a rights holder. The official product photography we sourced for this piece (the Starter Pack and Display Box images above) doesn't carry a legible rights-holder copyright line in the areas we could inspect either.
For comparison: every other Naruto product this vertical has covered carries an explicit, checkable credit. Bandai's own site and every card it has published print "© 2002 MASASHI KISHIMOTO / 2007 SHIPPUDEN — BANDAI." Kayou's product images carry "© MASASHI KISHIMOTO / SHUEISHA, TV TOKYO, Pierrot; © KAYOU." Both of those are things we can point at directly. For Mythos, what we have is a respected trade outlet's characterization, plus the simple fact that a company running public tournaments under the Naruto name, selling through named regional distributors, exhibiting at Spiel Essen and Comic-Con, and getting retail trade coverage is a very different risk profile from a bootleg operation — but "very different risk profile from a bootleg" is not the same claim as "we personally verified the license," and we're not going to pretend it is.
The rules Bandai still has not published
Whatever else is unsettled about Mythos, this part is not: it has a complete, public rules explainer, and that alone sets it apart from both of the other two Naruto card products. Our own coverage of Bandai's game has an entire section, in the sample-card-text breakdown, titled "What is still not published" — no turn structure, no combat resolution, no deck-building limits, over a year after its Gen Con reveal. Mythos publishes all of that on a "How to Play" page today.
Here's the structure, read off that page:
- Length: exactly 4 rounds. Whoever has more total Mission points when round 4 ends wins.
- Card types: Character cards (a Chakra cost, a Power value, a faction, keywords, sometimes an effect), Mission cards (the objectives, worth base points plus a rank bonus to whoever wins them), and Attachment cards, which modify a Character or Mission already in play.
- Resources: each player gets 5 base Chakra per round, plus more from characters already on the board. There is no hand-size or board-size cap — Chakra is the only thing gating how many characters you can deploy.
- Turn structure, per round: a Start Phase (gain Chakra, draw 2 cards, reveal the next Mission) → an Action Phase (players alternate playing one character to any Mission) → Mission Evaluation (whoever has more total Power on a Mission wins it and scores) → an End Phase (unused Chakra is discarded, not banked).
Two mechanics stand out as actual design choices rather than boilerplate. Hidden Characters are 0-cost, 0-Power versions of a card, playable from hand for a single Chakra, but only into their own named Mission — a way to contest a Mission cheaply without committing your real board state. Upgrade lets you play a higher-cost version of a character you already control on top of it, paying only the cost difference — so a deck can commit to a character early and scale them up later rather than always playing the strongest version cold. There's also an Edge Token, which grants a tiebreaker and has a say in how the Mission deck for a game is built, though the how-to-play summary doesn't spell out the Edge Token's full rules.
None of this tells you whether the game is any good. It does tell you it's a finished design with a defined win condition, not a marketing pitch waiting on a rulebook.
Three sets, one already out
| Set | Status | Key dates |
|---|---|---|
| Set 1 — Konoha Shidō, 1st Edition | Released | 13 March 2026 (Europe) |
| Set 1 — Konoha Shidō, 2nd Edition | Released | Booster Display 26 June 2026; Special Pack (Itachi/Kisame) and Team Set both 17 July 2026 |
| Set 2 — Shinobi Shiren | Released | "Summer 2026" per the official roadmap; trade coverage (ICv2, CBR) both place it in late September 2026 |
| Set 3 — Akatsuki | Announced, not yet released | Official site says "Early 2027"; ICv2 (7 July 2026) says Q4 2026; CBR says a "full worldwide rollout" is "reportedly coming in November" — the three sources do not agree |
The 2nd Edition of Set 1 was not originally scheduled for summer. Cicaboom's own 26 March 2026 update on it says the launch "was postponed to ensure the best possible experience for our players" from an original April target — a specific, stated delay, not spin we're reading into it.
Set 3, Akatsuki, is the one worth watching. Cicaboom's own announcement for it says plainly: "Starting with Set 3 Akatsuki, NARUTO Mythos TCG is going global in a very special way…as we enter the world of Naruto Shippuden for the first time!" Set 1 and Set 2 are built entirely from the original Naruto era — every card and Mission we found reference in official art is Team 7, the Chūnin Exams, Itachi and Kisame. Set 3 is the first set to touch Shippuden material at all, and the same announcement names the newly added territories for it: the United States, Canada, Latin America, Australia and South Africa.
We'd flag that last point as a genuine tension rather than smooth it over. Cicaboom's own site treats the US as a Set 3 territory, arriving with a global synchronized release. Trade press reports Zvezdar already running a pre-release wave of Set 1 across the US, Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean from 29 August 2026, after a first hands-on debut at San Diego Comic-Con (23–26 July 2026). Both things can be true — a distributor sell-in ahead of the official cross-territory launch that comes with Set 3 — but the official roadmap and the trade coverage are describing the US rollout on two different timelines, and neither source reconciles it for you.
What is actually in the box
Three products are listed on the official Products page today, plus Set 3 merchandise marked "Coming soon."
| Product | Contents |
|---|---|
| Starter Pack | 2 limited HOLO cards, 1 MAXI card, 4 booster packs, 1 rulebook, 1 token |
| Display Box (24 packs) | 24 booster packs of 10 cards each |
| Collector Binder | 16 pages, 9 pocket sheets, 3 cover variants |
Every booster pack is specified at exactly 10 cards, with a published breakdown: 1 Mission Card, 4 Commons, 3 Uncommons, 1 HOLO, and 1 card that is Rare, Secret or Legendary. That last slot is a single shared pull rate across three rarity tiers rather than a guaranteed rate per tier — the page doesn't say how the three divide.
The Set 1, 1st Edition Display Box carries its own printed numbers on the box art itself: 130 HOLO cards, 27 "Fluo Metal" cards, 10 Gold Secret cards, and 1 Gold 22K Legendary across what the box labels the "W1 Collection" of 130 cards plus 10 Secrets.

The Gold Card chase
This is the one piece of Mythos that has no equivalent anywhere else in this vertical: a chase card made of real, certified gold, with a published, finite print run.
The 1st Edition of Set 1 shipped with one Gold Card, Rock Lee: 2,000 English-language copies and 500 French copies, each individually numbered. The 2nd Edition adds a second Gold Card, Sasuke, released alongside the 26 June 2026 Booster Display: 1,500 English copies and 250 French copies, also individually numbered. Cicaboom's own announcement describes the material as "Real 22-karat gold – a genuine gold leaf that gives every card real value and a premium feel," certified to a named standard, "VAM7 REAL GOLD 56 (22 KT)."
We're not going to tell you what that means for resale value — this vertical doesn't do price speculation, and a numbered print run is a fact, not a prediction. What we can say is that the print run itself is the most specific, checkable number Mythos has published about anything: not "limited," not "rare," but 2,000 and 1,500 copies in English, stated by the company that made them.
Where you can actually buy it
As of 16 September, retail access broke down like this, read from Cicaboom's Products page and the trade coverage above. The who column for everywhere outside Italy has been contested since Cicaboom's 21 September update (see "Who actually makes it"), and the table notes where:
| Region | Status |
|---|---|
| Italy | Live — distributed through Manicomix |
| Wider EU, UK, Turkey | Live — Zvezdar, per Cicaboom's Products page and Zvezdar's own site; Cicaboom's 21 September update and Find a Distributor page instead list Europe and the UK as "facilitated by Breakflip" and Turkey as "Open to distributors," naming no distributor for any of the three |
| United States, Canada, Mexico, Caribbean | Pre-release wave since 29 August 2026 (Zvezdar, per ICv2 and CBR), following a first hands-on debut at San Diego Comic-Con 2026; Cicaboom's 21 September update lists North America as "facilitated by Breakflip" with no distributor named |
| Canada, Latin America, Australia, South Africa (broader) | Announced on 27 May as arriving with Set 3; Cicaboom's 21 September update moved Australia & New Zealand (Ikon Collectables) and South Africa (Epic Games) to "available now" and lists Latin America as "opening soon" |
No MSRP is published on narutotcgmythos.com itself for any product. Neither ICv2's nor CBR's coverage states a price either. If you see a number attached to a Starter Pack or Display Box online right now, it's coming from a retailer's own listing, not from the publisher.
The tournaments are already running
This is the part that most separates Mythos from the rest of the vertical: it has organized play happening in the real world, right now, with real prize support.
Cicaboom's Organized Play Program is open to any physical game store that stocks Naruto TCG product, keeps regular hours of at least 4 days a week and 6 hours a day, and has indoor space for at least 8 players. On top of that baseline, two Regional Championships have been scheduled:
| Event | Dates | Venue | Format | Champion prize |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Paris Regional | 11–13 September 2026 | Paris Montreuil Expo, France | Best-of-1 Swiss (Sat–Sun), then Best-of-3 Top Cut | Exclusive Gold Card (English) |
| Orlando Regional | 27 September 2026 | Osceola Heritage Park, Kissimmee, FL — inside Pro-Play Summit: Orlando | Best-of-1 Swiss up to 9 rounds, top 16 to Best-of-3 | Exclusive Gold Card (English) |
Both events give every entrant a Regional Participation Card, a Regional Playmat and 6 Set 2 boosters just for showing up, with Top 64+ finishers getting additional exclusive cards and playmats. Orlando registers through TopDeck.gg, with limited online seats and on-site registration open until 8:45 AM the day of.
The Paris event has already concluded — its Top Cut and awards ran through 13 September, three days before this was published — and as of our research, Cicaboom has not yet published who won or what the results looked like. That's a real gap, not an oversight on our part: we checked the official news feed and found nothing past the pre-event announcement. A first European Championship is booked for March 2027, with no further detail published yet.
Three Naruto card products, compared
| Bandai NARUTO CARD GAME | NARUTO Mythos TCG | Kayou Naruto | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Publisher | Bandai | Cicaboom (Italy); Zvezdar Toys named for US retail by trade press, contested since Cicaboom's 21 September Breakflip update | Kayou |
| Format | Competitive TCG | Competitive TCG | Collectible cards, no rules |
| First release | Summer 2027 (unreleased) | 13 March 2026 | September 2025 |
| Public rulebook | No — turn structure and combat still unpublished | Yes — full "How to Play" page | N/A, not a game |
| Organized play | None yet (game unreleased) | Store Championships + 2 Regionals held in 2026 | None — not a game |
| Sets released so far | 0 (one promo card, CP-001) | 1 (two editions) + Set 2; Set 3 announced | 6 |
| Explicit IP-holder credit we could verify | Yes — printed on every official card and page | Not independently confirmed by us; reported by ICv2 | Yes — printed on every official product page |
Read that table for what it actually shows: Mythos is the only one of the three you can buy today with a rulebook and sit down and play in a sanctioned event. It's also the only one where we could not personally confirm the licensing credit the other two carry outright — that's the trade-off this piece can't resolve for you.
What this does and does not tell you
What's confirmed, straight from Cicaboom's own site and corroborated by ICv2 and CBR's trade coverage:
- NARUTO Mythos TCG is a real, playable competitive card game, on shelves in Europe since 13 March 2026, with a published rulebook and a public how-to-play page.
- It's published through Cicaboom Srl (Italy). Zvezdar Toys is named in US trade coverage, and on its own site, as the entity bringing it to American retail — but Cicaboom's 21 September update names Breakflip as "distribution facilitator" for Europe, the UK, North America and Latin America without mentioning Zvezdar, so who distributes the game outside Italy is now an open question.
- Two Regional Championships have run or are scheduled in 2026 — Paris (concluded 13 September) and Orlando (27 September) — both with a real, numbered Gold Card as the champion's prize.
- Three sets exist on the roadmap: Konoha Shidō (out), Shinobi Shiren (out), and Akatsuki (announced, first Shippuden-era set, timing disputed across sources).
What it doesn't:
- We could not independently verify an explicit rights-holder license statement on the official site or in the product photography we sourced — only a trade publication's characterization of it as officially licensed.
- Paris Regional results. Set 3's actual release window, which three sources currently place in three different periods. Any MSRP for any product. Whether Zvezdar is still the distributor for Europe, the UK and North America after the 21 September Breakflip announcement — Cicaboom's own pages currently disagree with each other and with Zvezdar's.
- Whether this changes what a reader should actually buy. That's a separate, opinionated question, and this piece is deliberately just the facts we could confirm — the "which one do I want" call belongs in an update to our existing Bandai-vs-Kayou explainer, not buried at the bottom of an introduction to a product most readers have never heard of.
Details above are drawn from the official NARUTO Mythos TCG site (narutotcgmythos.com), its Products, How to Play and news pages, and from ICv2's and CBR's trade coverage of the game's US retail rollout, current as of 16 September 2026. The distribution sections were updated on 26 September 2026 against Cicaboom's 21 September "Important update" announcement, its Find a Distributor page, and Zvezdar Toys' own US site.

NARUTO Mythos TCG Shinobi Shiren: Set 2 Cards and Rarities
Set 2 of NARUTO Mythos TCG has been in European stores since 4 September, and Cicaboom's Products page still lists it as "Coming soon". The official Collection Guide says a great deal more: 150 numbered cards, a new Attachment card type, four rarities Set 1 never had, and serialized runs of 300, 400 and 1,500. Here is the whole set, rarity by rarity, checked against the official card gallery and events page.

How to Play NARUTO Mythos TCG: Rules, Decks and Scoring
Our NARUTO Mythos TCG explainer covers the rules in a handful of bullets. This is the full walkthrough, built only from Cicaboom's rulebook, Tournament Rules, FAQ and Game Mechanics pages: the 30-card, two-per-number deck rules, how the coin flip decides whose Missions land where, the four ways to put a card on a Mission, why a hidden card pays for itself, how Set 2's Attachments work, and why the first Mission revealed can be scored four times while the last is scored once.

NARUTO Mythos TCG Orlando Regional: Results and Decklists
Cicaboom's website has not posted a result for either of its 2026 Regionals. The Orlando one is on TopDeck.gg anyway, the platform Cicaboom sent players to for registration, with final standings and 43 player-submitted decklists. The champion went 3-3 in the Swiss, took the last Top 16 seat on tiebreakers, and beat the only 6-0 player in the first round of the cut. Here is the bracket, the champion's 30 cards, and what the Top 16 had in common.

NARUTO Mythos TCG Store Championships: Two Cards, No Results
Our two existing NARUTO Mythos TCG pieces both mention Store Championships in passing — a line in a comparison table, a clause in an FAQ answer — and neither explains what one actually is. Cicaboom does, on a page it published back in June and never updated: a five-week European season with its own two promo cards, no format published anywhere, and (going by the news feed) zero results ever posted, the exact pattern we already found with the publisher's first Regional. The publisher's own two pages describing the season cannot even agree on the day it started.

Naruto Card Game Explained: Bandai, Kayou or Mythos?
Search "Naruto cards" and you get three unrelated products stacked on top of each other: a competitive TCG from Bandai that nobody can buy until Summer 2027, a line of Chinese-made collectible cards from Kayou that has been in Walmart since 2025, and a third game — Cicaboom's NARUTO Mythos TCG — that has been on European shelves since March 2026 and is already running sanctioned tournaments. Here is exactly what each one is, what each publisher has actually confirmed, and which one the person asking the question actually wants.

NARUTO Mythos TCG: Breakflip and Zvezdar Disagree
Our own NARUTO Mythos TCG explainer, five days old, named Zvezdar Toys as the company bringing the game to Europe and North America — sourced to trade press, because Cicaboom's own site never spelled it out anywhere we could find. This morning Cicaboom published a company update naming a different company, Breakflip, as the coordinator for those exact regions, and stated in writing that Breakflip is 'not the distributor.' Its own Products page, three clicks away, still names Zvezdar for the same three regions using the same three email addresses. Zvezdar's own site still calls itself the official distributor. All three pages are live right now, and none of them mentions the other two.
