Tears of the Kingdom Best Weapon: The Untouched Tier
The 31-pair decayed-to-intact table tops out at 39 attack. It was never the whole game. Forty-eight more weapons never had a decayed state to begin with — Zelda Wiki calls them Untouched — and they include the three Champion weapons, the entire Zonaite line, and the three Gloom weapons that outdamage everything else in Tears of the Kingdom. Here is where they all come from, what locks their numbers in place, and the one that doesn't.

The intact-weapons guide tops out at 39 attack — the Royal Guard's Claymore✨, best of the 31 decayed-to-intact pairs Spectral Figures hand out. That number is correct. It is also not the ceiling. A weapon dropped by a boss in the Depths hits for 50, and it never shows up on that chart, because it was never decayed in the first place.
Zelda Wiki splits its Tears of the Kingdom weapon list into three buckets: Decayed, Intact, and a third one labeled Untouched — weapons the Upheaval's gloom never touched, so they have no before-and-after pair to tabulate. Forty-eight of them exist, and they are where the game hides the three Champion weapons, the whole Zonaite line, a handful of side-quest legends, and three weapons soaked in gloom that outdamage everything else in the game. This is a guide to that tier: what each one hits for, exactly which quest or chest hands it over, and the one mechanic that keeps most of them from ever changing.
The 50-attack weapon no tier list mentions
The Gloom Club hits for 50 attack. Compare that to the decay chart's own ceiling — 39 on the Royal Guard's Claymore✨ — and the Gloom Club is not close, it is 11 points clear of the best weapon that table has. The Gloom Sword (41) and Gloom Spear (40) beat that same table's best one-handed weapon (Royal Guard's Sword✨, 30) and best spear (Royal Guard's Spear✨, 24) by even wider margins.
None of the three are secret. They drop off a specific enemy, in specific places, and this guide gets to them in the next section. The reason they don't show up next to the decayed/intact tables is simple: they were never decayed, so the format that works for the other 31 pairs has nowhere to put them.
Forty-eight weapons that never had a decayed state
Zelda Wiki's own framing: some weapons "remain safe from Gloom and can still be found on the Surface, with no Intact counterpart in the Depths," including monster weapons, Zonai weapons, and the weapons carried by Phantom Ganon and Demon King Ganondorf, plus a set of unique legendary weapons sitting in Depths treasure chests.
Counted straight off that list: 19 one-handed weapons, 16 two-handed weapons, and 13 spears — 48 in total. Most of that count is filler — sticks, a torch, a soup ladle, monster arms wrenched off dead Bokoblins — and this guide gets through that tier in one paragraph near the bottom. The other half is the actual subject: three Champion weapons with a shared crafting pattern, a set of side-quest legendaries, the nine-item Zonaite line, and the three Gloom weapons already named above. The Fuse guide and the shields guide have each mentioned pieces of this shelf in passing — Biggoron's Sword, the Scimitar of the Seven, the Daybreaker it's paired with. This is the first full pass on the melee side of it.
The three Gloom weapons, and the bonus roll that breaks the chart

All three — Gloom Sword (one-handed, 41/15), Gloom Club (two-handed, 50/14), Gloom Spear (spear, 40/16) — are dropped by Phantom Ganon on defeat. Phantom Ganon isn't a one-time boss: it's what a defeated pack of Gloom Spawn hands fuse into, it guards Chasms like the Deku Tree Chasm, and Demon King Ganondorf himself wields Gloom weapons during the final fight at Gloom's Origin. That makes all three farmable, not just lootable once.
The catch is printed on the item description, not buried in a wiki footnote: wielding one costs Link Gloom damage on every attack. The fix is just as documented — Fuse anything to a Gloom weapon and the self-damage stops entirely. The Gloom Spear carries one extra property: Fuse it to a Shield and parrying with that Shield starts dealing damage, on top of negating the spear's own drawback.
Here's the detail that actually separates the Gloom line from the rest of this tier. Zelda Wiki's Weapon Bonus page lists a specific set of gear that can never roll a bonus — the next section covers it — and none of the three Gloom weapons are on that list. They follow the ordinary rules for "all other Weapons": Durability Up (+3 to +5), Durability Up+ (+6 to +10), Attack Up (+3 to +5), Attack Up+ (+6 to +10), plus Critical Hit and Long Throw. Run the arithmetic on the wiki's own published ranges — this is not a stated game figure, just the math on numbers Zelda Wiki does publish — and a Gloom Club that rolls Attack Up+ can reach 60 attack. That happens to match the Master Sword's own conditional spike against Phantom Ganon and Ganondorf, covered in the Master Sword guide — two completely different systems landing on the same number by coincidence, not design.
Twelve weapons whose numbers can never move
The bows guide already found three bows locked out of Weapon Bonuses entirely, and the shields guide found two shields on the same list. Zelda Wiki's Weapon Bonus page is one page covering every equipment slot, and the melee side of that same list has twelve entries:
| Weapon | Type | Attack | Durability |
|---|---|---|---|
| Fierce Deity Sword | Two-handed | 38 | 35 |
| Boulder Breaker | Two-handed | 38 | 40 |
| Biggoron's Sword | Two-handed | 36 | 60 |
| Dusk Claymore | Two-handed | 32 | 50 |
| Scimitar of the Seven | One-handed | 28 | 60 |
| White Sword of the Sky | One-handed | 24 | 45 |
| Lightscale Trident | Spear | 22 | 70 |
| Sword of the Hero | One-handed | 17 | 27 |
| Sea-Breeze Boomerang | One-handed | 16 | 20 |
| Magic Scepter | Two-handed | 7 | 14 |
| Magic Rod | One-handed | 6 | 14 |
| Magic Staff | Spear | 4 | 14 |
No Attack Up, no Durability Up, no Critical Hit, ever, on any of these twelve. The number in the table above is the number you get, forever — no Rock Octorok reroll fixes it either, since a Rock Octorok can't grant a bonus to equipment that isn't allowed to have one (the Hylian Shield is the sole exception across every equipment slot, and it's a shield, covered in the shields guide). The Master Sword sits on this same list — its own guide covers it in full, so it isn't repeated here.
Three Champion weapons, one shared recipe

Three of the game's descendant Champions get a weapon crafted for them, and Link can commission the same one. All three quests run on the identical shape: bring the NPC a base weapon (decayed or intact, either works) plus Diamonds and Flint, and they hand back the untouched Champion-tier version.
| Weapon | Side Quest | Crafter | Materials |
|---|---|---|---|
| Boulder Breaker (38/40) | Soul of the Gorons | Fugo, in Goron City | 1 Cobble Crusher + 5 Flint + 3 Diamonds |
| Lightscale Trident (22/70) | Glory of the Zora | Dento, in Zora's Domain | 1 Zora Spear + 3 Diamonds + 5 Flint |
| Scimitar of the Seven (28/60) | Pride of the Gerudo | Isha, in Gerudo Town | 1 Gerudo Scimitar + 1 Gerudo Shield + 4 Diamonds + 10 Flint |
All three can be remade by the same NPC if lost — but only once the game considers the old one permanently gone, not just missing. Isha's delivery is the odd one out: "Pride of the Gerudo" pays out a matched pair, the Scimitar of the Seven and a Daybreaker shield (covered separately in the shields guide), and she wants the materials for both at once rather than one weapon's worth — which is why her total runs heavier than Fugo's or Dento's. The Rito equivalent is a bow, not a melee weapon — Teba's Great Eagle Bow, from a near-identical Wood-and-Diamond recipe — and it belongs in the bows guide rather than here. The Lightscale Trident is worth flagging on its own: at 70 durability it beats every other weapon in this entire guide, melee or otherwise, and the next tier down is a tie — Biggoron's Sword and the Scimitar of the Seven both sit at 60.
Worth knowing before farming any of the three: a Sage Avatar carries a projection of its own Champion weapon (Yunobo swings a Boulder Breaker, Sidon a Lightscale Trident, Riju two Scimitars of the Seven), and photographing that projection logs the real weapon to the Hyrule Compendium without needing to have crafted one yet — a shortcut the Sages guide already flagged for compendium completion.
Four more from the same Depths chests as the armor

The Depths guide already covers the headline version of this: 31 Old Maps, found on sky islands, each marking one Depths treasure chest holding a piece of legendary gear pulled from an older Zelda game. That post's own list names Biggoron's Sword as one of them without breaking out where. Here's the rest of that same Old Map table, the four entries that are weapons rather than armor:
| Weapon | Old Map found on | Chest location |
|---|---|---|
| Biggoron's Sword (36/60) | South Eldin Sky Archipelago | Akkala House of Bones |
| Sword of the Hero (17/27) | East Gerudo Sky Archipelago | Dalite Grove |
| Sea-Breeze Boomerang (16/20) | Necluda Sky Archipelago | Hebra Canyon Mine |
A fourth entry on the same Old Map table, the Sea-Breeze Shield, is a shield rather than a weapon and is already covered in the shields guide's own no-Weapon-Bonus section. Biggoron's Sword has a second path in: scanning an Ocarina of Time-series Link amiibo has a chance to spawn an Iron Treasure Chest containing one. Either way it's obtained, it can only be repurchased from a Bargainer Statue for 150 Poes if lost, the same mechanic the Depths guide's armor price list runs on — this is the weapon-side version of it. One more thing the Depths guide didn't need to flag: a Rock Octorok will refuse a Biggoron's Sword outright, spitting it back out instead of repairing or rerolling it, unlike ordinary decayed gear.
Two side-quest swords and a re-farmable one

Fierce Deity Sword (38/35). Reward for "Misko's Treasure: The Fierce Deity," a Side Quest that starts from Misko's Letter and sends Link to Cephla Lake Cave — but only pays out if he's wearing the complete Fierce Deity Armor set when he gets there. That armor is its own separate grind through Dinraal, Naydra and Farosh parts, priced out in full in the Dragon Parts guide. The alternate route skips the armor requirement: scanning a Majora's Mask-series Link amiibo can spawn a chest holding one, once Link has visited the Depths at least once. Lost either copy, and a Bargainer Statue will sell a replacement for 160 Poes.
Dusk Claymore (32/50). Reward for completing all four stages of "Investigate the Thyphlo Ruins." The alternate route is scanning a Super Smash Bros.-series Ganondorf amiibo. Repurchase price at a Bargainer Statue: 140 Poes.
White Sword of the Sky (24/45, 70 when Fused). Reward for "The Mother Goddess Statue" Side Quest at the Forgotten Temple. This one runs on a different rule than the other two: if it's lost, the Mother Goddess Statue doesn't sell a replacement for Poes — it wants Dinraal's Claw, Naydra's Claw and Farosh's Claw instead, the same three dragon-claw drops priced out in the Dragon Parts guide. A Skyward Sword-series Link amiibo is the alternate route here too, again gated behind one Depths visit.
The Zonaite line is the one you just buy
Nine of the 48 Untouched weapons are Zonai gear split into three power tiers — Zonaite, Strong Zonaite, Mighty Zonaite — across all three weapon classes:
| Class | Zonaite | Strong Zonaite | Mighty Zonaite |
|---|---|---|---|
| One-handed | 6 / 15 | 7 / 16 | 10 / 18 |
| Two-handed | 8 / 15 | 10 / 16 | 15 / 18 |
| Spear | 4 / 22 | 6 / 24 | 8 / 27 |
(Attack / durability.)
Every one of them shares the same trait: fusing a Zonai device, a Construct part, Zonaite itself, or sky-fallen Ruins Rubble onto one adds a flat bonus on top of the normal Fuse math — covered in full in the Fuse guide. The main vendor is the Smithing Construct, found in the Spirit Temple once Mineru is reawakened as the Sage of Spirit (see the Sages guide for that questline); it trades its stock for Zonaite rather than rupees, and the one price Zelda Wiki documents outright is 45 Zonaite for the Mighty Zonaite Sword. Zonaite itself is a Depths-only resource, mined from glowing deposits that cluster at monster outposts.
The Smithing Construct isn't the only source. The shrines guide already found Zonaite-tier weapons sitting in specific shrine quest chests — Kyononis Shrine's Combat Training pays out a plain Zonaite Sword, and En-oma Shrine's crystal-carry quest pays out a Mighty Zonaite Sword — which means a Mighty-tier weapon is reachable well before Mineru is back on her feet, for players who know which chest to open.

The bottom of every list here is the same story: sticks, tools and monster-arm weapons Link picks up off the ground or off a dead Bokoblin, no quest attached. The one genuinely useful note in that tier — Bokoblin Arm (20), Lizalfos Arm (22) and Moblin Arm (28) all hit harder than most early-game decayed weapons, they're just stuck at 5 durability apiece, gone in a handful of swings.
Quick Action Checklist
- The Gloom Club is the real highest-attack weapon in the game at 50 — not the decay chart's 39-attack ceiling. Farm it, the Gloom Sword (41) and the Gloom Spear (40) off Phantom Ganon, wherever Gloom Spawn gather or a Chasm guards one.
- Fuse anything onto a Gloom weapon immediately to cancel the self-damage it deals on every attack — the drawback is real, and the fix costs nothing more than an attachment you were probably carrying anyway.
- Gloom weapons can still roll Attack Up+ and Durability Up+, unlike almost everything else on this list — a lucky Gloom Club tops out at 60 attack.
- Twelve named weapons can never roll a bonus, ever — Fierce Deity Sword, Boulder Breaker, Biggoron's Sword, Dusk Claymore, Scimitar of the Seven, White Sword of the Sky, Lightscale Trident, Sword of the Hero, Sea-Breeze Boomerang, and the three Magic staves. The number you get is final.
- Craft the three Champion weapons early if a Zora Spear, Gerudo Scimitar or Cobble Crusher is sitting in the inventory anyway — Dento and Fugo each want 3 Diamonds and 5 Flint; Isha wants more (4 Diamonds, 10 Flint and a Gerudo Shield too) because her delivery covers the Daybreaker in the same trip.
- The Lightscale Trident is the single most durable weapon in the game at 70 — outlasts Biggoron's Sword's 60 and everything on the decay chart.
- Farm the full Fierce Deity Armor set before starting "Misko's Treasure: The Fierce Deity" — the quest won't pay out the sword without it equipped.
- Buy Zonaite weapons from the Spirit Temple's Smithing Construct once Mineru is back, or grab a Mighty Zonaite Sword early from En-oma Shrine's crystal-carry reward chest.
