Fortnite Admin Panel Codes and How Override Hacks Work

Epic put a cheat-code prompt in the Fortnite lobby. There is now a .../admin panel button in the top-right of the Battle Royale lobby, and typing the right string into it hands you 40,000 XP, a pile of Sprite Dust, or a Sprite variant you would otherwise have to hunt for.

That prompt is one of four separate systems that shipped with Chapter 7 Season 4: Override in update v42.00 on August 20, 2026. They share a vocabulary and almost nothing else — one lives in the lobby, one rewrites your chest drops, one is hidden on the island, and one changes the rules for the entire server. Epic's own update notes describe them as Lobby Hacks, Loot Hacks, Cheat Codes and Match Overrides, and the two called "codes" are not the same thing.

Here is the code list, then what each of the four systems actually does.

Admin Panel codes and what they give

Epic's v42.00 notes document the Admin Panel but publish no codes at all — every string below comes from community tracking of codes Epic has pushed out through its own regional social accounts and elsewhere. They are not case-sensitive, and each is redeemable once per account.

Two things to be honest about. First, Epic has not published a master list — the update notes literally open with "Found a Lobby Hack code online?", which tells you the distribution model is social posts and partner promos rather than a page you can bookmark. New codes keep landing. Second, Epic controls the switch on all of them, so a code that works today can be retired.

If you only redeem a handful, take OverrideXP first — the Fortnite Wiki puts an Override Battle Pass level at 80,000 XP, so that code is half a level for one string — then the five Sprite codes, which pay 10,000 Sprite Dust each if you already own the Sprite — five times the 2,000 the regional codes give.

How to open the Admin Panel

The route in is short:

1. Open the Battle Royale lobby (not LEGO Fortnite, not Festival).
2. Hit the .../admin panel button in the top-right corner. On console, use the button prompt shown on that panel instead of clicking.
3. Type a code into the FORTNITE ADMIN PANEL prompt and confirm.

Capitalisation does not matter. A code you have already used will not pay out a second time on the same account.

Four hack systems, side by side

Epic used the word "code" for two different mechanics that live in two different places, so it is worth laying the four out side by side.

Loot Hacks and what Sprite Dust buys

Loot Hacks are the reason Sprite Dust matters more than it did last season. Epic's description: you spend Sprite Dust to hack loot in your match and customise what drops, hacked items have a chance to drop from Chests when you open them, and the boosts are unique to your own configuration. You can also reset that configuration at any time — for more Sprite Dust.

Sprite Dust itself is not new. It arrived in v41.00 on June 6, 2026, and it behaves unlike Bars did: it carries over between matches, cannot be dropped from your inventory, and is not lost when you are eliminated. It stacks to 200,000.

What it can be spent on now:

Service Stations sit next to Extraction Site drop zones, so the walk to bank a Sprite is also the walk to spend the dust it earned you.

Cheat Codes live on the island

Epic opened this section of the update notes with the Konami sequence — ⬆️⬆️⬇️⬇️⬅️➡️⬅️➡️ — which is the joke and also the instruction. In a match, Cheat Codes are hidden across the island: tucked into POIs and sprayed on walls. Interact with one, enter the code, and you free a Sprite ally.

That is the whole loop, and it is worth separating from the lobby codes above. A Lobby Hack code is a string you type in the menu before you queue. A Cheat Code is a physical thing on the map that you have to find mid-match, and it pays out a Sprite rather than XP or currency.

If hunting them by eye sounds tedious, the season added a Gizmo for exactly that: the Cheat Code Locator, which points at the nearest one. Two of the Admin Panel codes above (FindItChat and SurviveTheNight) hand you two each, which is four free locators for typing two strings.

Match Overrides and the price of claiming one

Override Consoles appear in every match. Epic's framing is that claiming one lets you rewrite the rules for the entire server — though the same notes carve out Rare and Mythic Squad Overrides, which benefit only the squad that claims them. Three details decide whether the trip is worth it:

• Your name is displayed around the console base, so the lobby knows who claimed it.
• Claiming broadcasts your squad's location on the map.
• Rare and Mythic Squad Overrides only benefit the first squad to claim them.

So a console is a fight magnet, and the reward for winning that fight is a buff plus a marker on your own head. That is a trade, not a free pickup.

Epic lists these Overrides in the v42.00 notes, and says the list "includes" them rather than being exhaustive:

Read that list as a set of server-wide rule changes rather than personal buffs. Big Fish and Big Loot improve the loot economy for everyone in the lobby including the people you are about to fight, while Headshot and Power Pickaxe cut both ways in a build fight. If you are claiming one to win a specific game, Extra Life, Constant Heal and Overshield are the ones that hand you survivability the other 99 players have to actually use to benefit from.

The new Sprite lineup

Epic's wording is that the Sprites you collected in Season 3 are "immortalized" in a new Sprite Garden, and that a whole new generation can be found on the island in Season 4. Eleven of that new generation are named in the v42.00 notes:

Two of those have levelling conditions the others do not. Klombo cannot be levelled by fighting or looting at all — only by eating — and Crown only moves when you win. Pick either one and you have committed to a specific way of playing the match.

Sprite handling also got four quality-of-life fixes in v42.00: you can now see in match whether you have already collected a Sprite, a Sprite's name appears when you are near it, summoning rare Sprites and variants costs less Sprite Dust, and the button-hold time to summon one is shorter.

The new Gizmos expire with the season

Gizmos are the consumables that sit on your pickaxe slot and shortcut Sprite extractions. Season 4 added four:

Here is the part that makes the Admin Panel codes time-sensitive. Per the Fortnite Wiki, Gizmos expire at the end of every Battle Royale season, and the Gizmo Wheel shows the days remaining. Five of the codes in the table above (o2Override, TakeYourHeart, FindItChat, SurviveTheNight, PerfectOrder) pay out purely in Gizmos — the Portable Extractor is one too — so sitting on them until late in the season shrinks what you get out of them. The XP and Sprite Dust codes do not have that problem.

Ranked reset, and Sprites joined it

Battle Royale ranks reset with the new season. The climb rewards for this one:

The change that matters for climbers: Sprites are now in Ranked Battle Royale, with their gameplay powers switched off. You can collect them and they follow you around, but none of the abilities in the table above fire in Ranked. Epic's stated reason is competitive integrity. Practically, it means the Sprite you built your casual games around does nothing for your rank, and any climbing plan that leans on Shadow's free reloads or Jackrabbit's double jump does not survive the queue change. Quick Action Checklist

• Open the .../admin panel button in the top-right of the Battle Royale lobby
• Redeem OverrideXP first for 40,000 XP
• Redeem the five Sprite codes — they pay 10,000 Sprite Dust each if you already own the Sprite
• Redeem the four regional codes (Magilume, Chispambo, Abgestaubt, Perlimpinpin) plus H0p0nVC for 2,000 Sprite Dust each
• Spend the Gizmo codes early — Gizmos expire at the end of the season
• Bank a Portable Extractor and 20,000 XP from a Sprite Dust Service Station, both once per day
• Carry a Cheat Code Locator if you want Sprite allies without sweeping walls by eye
• Treat an Override Console as a fight, not a pickup — claiming one pins your squad on the map
• Do not build a Ranked plan around Sprite abilities; they are disabled there
