Genshin Escoffier Build Guide — Talents, Weapon, Artifacts

Nothing you equip on Escoffier changes her 55% Hydro and Cryo RES shred: it reads your party, not her stats. Her build decides everything else — how hard her Cooking Mek hits, how much she heals, and whether her Burst comes back on time.

HoYoverse's Version 7.1 Phase II banner for La Chanson Cerise: Escoffier, the blonde Cryo chef in a white toque and magenta skirt, holds an ice-blue knife and a wand trailing ice, with the three boosted 4-star characters on the right and the label "Escoffier, Tasteful Excellence."

Why Escoffier Needs Her Own Guide

Nothing you equip on Escoffier touches the effect she is built around. Her 4th Ascension Passive cuts enemy Hydro and Cryo RES by up to 55%, and that figure has no talent level, no ATK scaling and no stat attached to it. It reads one thing: how many Hydro and Cryo characters are in your party. What her build decides is everything else — how hard her Cooking Mek hits, how much she heals, and whether her Burst is back when you want it.

She is about to be pullable again. HoYoverse's Version 7.1 Phase II notice puts her Event Wish, "La Chanson Cerise," live from 18:00 server time on October 13, 2026 to 14:59 server time on November 3, running alongside Skirk's "Void Star's Advent," with her signature polearm Symphonist of Scents on the Epitome Invocation weapon banner over the same dates. It is her third run, after May 2025 and March 2026.

Our Skirk build guide already used Escoffier as a teammate: her shred table, her Constellation 1 and the arithmetic of what one off-element slot costs a Skirk team. This post does not redo that maths. It answers the question that guide left alone: what to level, wear and hold on Escoffier herself.

What Her Kit Actually Does

HoYoverse's Version 5.6 notes, from her debut, describe a support who can "consistently reduce Hydro and Cryo RES, provide healing, and deal Cryo DMG" while off-field. The wiki tags her Off-Field, DPS, Support and Survivability. Here is what produces each of those:

  • Elemental Skill, Low-Temperature Cooking (Tap, 15s cooldown). One AoE Cryo hit, then her Cooking Mek: Cold Storage Mode follows whoever is on the field for 20 seconds and fires Frosty Parfaits at nearby enemies "at intervals," each one Cryo DMG. Each activation can also summon a Surging Blade, an Ousia-aligned AoE Cryo hit, at most once every 10 seconds. When the Skill DMG hits an enemy it generates 4 Cryo particles.
  • Elemental Burst, Scoring Cuts (60 Energy, 15s cooldown). One AoE Cryo hit that also restores HP to every nearby party member, scaling on her ATK.
  • Better to Salivate Than Medicate (1st Ascension Passive). After the Burst, Rehab Diet heals the active character every second for 9 seconds, for 138.24% of her ATK each time.
  • Inspiration-Immersed Seasoning (4th Ascension Passive). With 1, 2, 3 or 4 Hydro or Cryo characters in the party, enemies hit by her Skill or Burst lose 5%, 10%, 15% or 55% Hydro and Cryo RES for 12 seconds.

Every damage and healing number in that list scales on ATK. Her kit text has no Lunar, Stellar or Hexerei clause, and the wiki's change history for her records nothing after her 5.6 release.

The Hold Is a Kitchen, Not an Attack

Holding the Skill (6s cooldown) is her Utility Passive, Constant Off-the-Cuff Cookery. It parks the Mek on the field to absorb elemental attacks and cook. The wiki caps it at 10 dishes a week, resetting Monday at 4:00 server time, including four dishes nobody else can make — Gilded Hall, Autumn Frost, Verdant Gift and Wave-Kissed Sands — and it notes that the dishes count toward the Battle Pass's weekly "cook 20 dishes" mission. In combat you want the Tap.

Her Shred Runs on the Skill, Not the Burst

Inspiration-Immersed Seasoning fires on enemies hit by her Skill or her Burst, and lasts 12 seconds. The wiki's properties table for Low-Temperature Cooking files the Frosty Parfaits under the Elemental Skill, alongside the cast hit. The Mek lasts 20 seconds; the Skill comes back after 15.

Put those together and the shred does not depend on the Burst. A Skill cast every cooldown keeps a Mek on the field firing parfaits the whole time, and each parfait that lands is another Skill hit refreshing the 12-second debuff. Two practical consequences follow, and they shape the next two sections:

  1. Her Burst is for healing and one big hit, not for the shred. You can be late on it without losing the debuff.
  2. The Skill is the button you cannot skip. Let the Mek lapse and the shred lapses 12 seconds later.

The size of the shred is the one part of her kit no build touches. What 15% versus 55% is worth against a real enemy is worked through in our Skirk guide and, for the general rule on negative RES, our damage formula guide.

The Burst wins any single-hit comparison. The Skill wins over time, and the question is how often a parfait lands. HoYoverse's kit text only says "at intervals," and so does the English wiki. The Chinese-language Genshin wiki on Bilibili adds a note to the same skill: one Frosty Parfait per second, with Cryo applied every two seconds.

Take that rate and a Mek recast on its 15-second cooldown fires about 15 parfaits per cast: 3,240% at Skill level 10, against 1,067.04% for one Burst on the same 15-second cooldown — roughly three to one. Halve the fire rate and the parfaits still come to 1,620%. Either way, the Skill talent carries most of her damage.

  • Level the Elemental Skill first. It scales the cast hit, every parfait and the Surging Blade.
  • Level the Burst second if you rely on her healing. The one-off party heal grows from 172.03% ATK + 1,079 to 309.66% ATK + 2,373 at level 10. Rehab Diet does not scale with any talent.
  • Normal Attack last. She is built to be off the field.

Her constellations point the same way: Constellation 3 raises the Skill by three levels and Constellation 5 the Burst. And in a Skirk team, Skirk's Utility Passive, Mutual Weapons Mentorship, raises every party member's Elemental Skill level by 1 when the whole party is Hydro or Cryo with at least one of each — Escoffier's parfaits included.

Energy Recharge: Size It to the Heal, Not the Shred

Our Energy Recharge guide gives the conversion rates: at 100% Energy Recharge, a same-element particle is worth 3 Energy to the character on the field and 1.8 to one on the bench in a four-character party. Her Skill makes 4 Cryo particles, so it pays her 12 Energy if she is still on the field when they land and 7.2 if you have already swapped out. Against a 60-cost Burst, her own Skill covers 12% to 20% of it.

The rest has to come from her team, from enemies and from Energy Recharge — but how much of it you need depends on a question the shred has already answered. Because the debuff rides on the Skill, a late Burst delays her healing and one 1,067.04% hit, not the shred. So:

  • If your team leans on her Burst heal every rotation, size her Energy Recharge to that, using the burst-cost-over-energy-collected formula in the Energy Recharge guide.
  • If it does not, every point of Energy Recharge past "the Burst is up when I want it" is a point not spent on ATK, which is what her damage and her healing both scale on.

Two details help. Cryo teammates' particles are same-element pickups for her as well, so a second Cryo character in the party raises what she collects. And her Constellation 4 adds flat Energy that Energy Recharge does not multiply: up to 7 × 2 = 14 per Rehab Diet, at a chance equal to her CRIT Rate. As that guide warns, test against real enemies, not the training dummy, which drops nothing.

The Secret Source Automaton: Overseer Device, the Atocpan normal boss that drops Escoffier's Secret Source Airflow Accumulator: a segmented, pale-stone automaton with glowing orange and blue inner rings, its pieces floating apart against a starry night sky.

Four things to plan around.

Her boss does not pay her gem. The Overseer Device's reward table pays Varunada Lazurite, the Hydro gem. It is the same trap our Skirk guide found with her boss. Fontaine's own Icewind Suite is one of the bosses that does drop Shivada Jade.

Pulling both Phase II characters doubles the same bill. Skirk's wiki material totals use the same 1 / 9 / 9 / 6 Shivada Jade and the same 18 / 30 / 36 Clockwork Meka gears for ascension. Building both means 2 / 18 / 18 / 12 Shivada Jade and two characters' worth of Meka gears. And Dahlia, one of the three 4-stars on her banner, ascends on the same Secret Source Airflow Accumulator.

The weekly boss is behind Natlan's story. Stone Stele Records unlocks during the Archon Quest Chapter V: Act V, "Incandescent Ode of Resurrection." Eroded Horn is shared with Illuga and Mavuika, and a Dream Solvent converts between it and that boss's other two materials. Talent materials only drop from boss level 70; the claim rules are in our weekly boss guide.

The Mora is the standard bill. 420,000 for ascension plus 1,652,500 per talent taken to 10 comes to 5,377,500 Mora, the same total our Skirk and Vesna guides worked out; the cost curve itself is in our talent and ascension material guide.

HoYoverse's Version 7.1 Phase II Epitome Invocation banner: the blue crystal sword Azurelight beside Escoffier's gold, trident-headed polearm Symphonist of Scents, with Sturdy Bone and other boosted 4-star weapons on the right.

Symphonist of Scents reads her kit line by line. The second ATK clause is conditioned on being off-field, which is where her kit keeps her. The healing clause is the better half: her Burst heals the whole party, so everyone gets Sweet Echoes at once, and Rehab Diet then heals the active character every second for 9 seconds, refreshing a 3-second buff before it can lapse. One honest gap: the wiki does not record whether a Frosty Parfait uses her ATK at the moment of casting or at each shot, so we are not putting a number on how much of the off-field bonus the parfaits receive.

Favonius Lance is the one polearm among the five 4-star weapons on Phase II's rate-up, and its 30.6% Energy Recharge is real. Its passive gets few chances on her. The wiki's gameplay notes say it cannot trigger while the wielder is off-field, and almost all of her hits — every parfait and Surging Blade — land while she is benched. That leaves the Skill's cast hit and the Burst hit as her chances to proc it.

"The Catch" carries the highest Energy Recharge secondary of the three and costs no wishes. Its passive only touches one hit per rotation, her Burst, so its job on her is the 45.9% Energy Recharge. Our fishing guide has the 138-fish bill for taking it to R5.

If you want Symphonist of Scents, remember it shares the banner with Skirk's Azurelight. Epitomized Path charts one of them at a time, and our wish guide explains why changing your chart mid-banner resets your Fate Points.

Golden Troupe's Reward, the circlet piece of the Golden Troupe artifact set: a gold-and-silver winged tiara with a blue diamond and three gold drops hanging from its center.

Golden Troupe is the set her damage was built for. Frosty Parfaits are Elemental Skill DMG fired while she sits on the bench, which is the exact situation the 4-piece's second clause names: 20% + 25% + 25% is a 70% Elemental Skill DMG Bonus off-field. Its domain is in Fontaine, the same nation as her local specialty and her talent books.

The other three are team choices, not upgrades for her own numbers:

  • Blizzard Strayer fits a Frozen team, where her targets spend most of their time Cryo-affected or Frozen, but its CRIT Rate only reaches her own hits.
  • Noblesse Oblige is worth it only if no one else in the party is already wearing it, since a second copy just refreshes the duration.
  • Song of Days Past turns her healing into damage for whoever is on the field. Its 15,000 cap is easy for her to reach: even at 1,000 ATK, a talent-level-10 Burst heals each party member for 3,097 + 2,373 = 5,470, so three party members' worth already clears it, and overflow healing counts. That is an extra 1,200 DMG on each of the active character's next five hits.

General rules for farming a set without burning out are in our artifact guide.

Main Stats, and Where CRIT Rate Earns Twice

  • Sands: ATK%. Her damage, her Burst heal, Rehab Diet and her Constellation 2 buff all scale on ATK. Swap to Energy Recharge only if the energy maths above says your team needs her Burst every rotation.
  • Goblet: Cryo DMG%. All of her Skill and Burst damage is Cryo.
  • Circlet: CRIT Rate or CRIT DMG, balanced against her 19.2% CRIT Rate ascension stat and her weapon — Symphonist of Scents brings 66.2% CRIT DMG.
  • CRIT Rate does extra work on her. It is the proc chance for her Constellation 4 heal-and-Energy effect, and the gate on a Favonius Lance proc.

Constellations: C2 Is for Your Team, C6 Is the Ceiling

Con.NameEffect
C1Pre-Dinner Dance for Your Taste BudsWith 4 Hydro or Cryo party members, the party's Cryo CRIT DMG rises 60% for 15s after her Skill or Burst
C2Fresh, Fragrant Stew Is an ArtA Tap Skill gives her 5 Cold Dish stacks for 15s. Other active characters' Cryo hits each spend one to add 240% of her ATK to that hit's DMG, one stack per opponent hit
C3The Bakery Magic of Caramel BrowningElemental Skill +3 levels (max 15)
C4Secret Rosemary RecipeRehab Diet lasts 6s longer; its heals have a chance equal to her CRIT Rate to heal 100% more and restore 2 Energy to her, up to 7 times per Rehab Diet
C5Symphony of a Thousand SaucesElemental Burst +3 levels (max 15)
C6Tea Parties Bursting With ColorWhen the active character's Normal, Charged or Plunging Attacks hit, the Mek fires a Special-Grade Frosty Parfait for 500% of her ATK as Elemental Skill DMG, once every 0.5s, up to 6 times per Mek

C1 is all-or-nothing on the same team rule as her shred — our Skirk guide prices it inside a Skirk team. C2 is the reason to keep building her ATK even if you only want the shred: its five Cold Dish stacks each add 240% of her ATK to a Cryo hit from your on-field character, not to hers. C4 is the comfort constellation, longer healing plus flat Energy. C6 is the ceiling: six extra 500% parfaits per Mek, each counted as Elemental Skill DMG, so Golden Troupe covers them too.

Team Rules That Fall Out of Her Kit

  1. Count the Hydro and Cryo heads. Her shred is 5%, 10%, 15% or 55% for 1, 2, 3 or 4 Hydro or Cryo party members. The jump is on the fourth, and Skirk's guide has the arithmetic.
  2. Her shred is not just for Cryo. It cuts Hydro RES by the same amount, so a Hydro damage dealer in an all-Hydro-and-Cryo party gets the same 55% a Cryo one does.
  3. She heals the active character for 9 seconds after a Burst, every second, which suits a team whose damage dealer stays on the field.
  4. Her banner's boosted 4-stars all count. Phase II's boosted 4-stars are Dahlia and Candace (Hydro) and Mika (Cryo), so any of those three is a valid Hydro-or-Cryo slot for her shred.
  5. Skirk is on the parallel banner. Her own Utility Passive, Mutual Weapons Mentorship, also asks for an all-Hydro-and-Cryo party; the full team logic is in our Skirk build guide.

Where Phase II Lands for Her

Her banner opens at 18:00 server time on October 13 — the Phase I banners close at 17:59 — and closes at 14:59 server time on November 3. HoYoverse's 7.1 update notes schedule the endgame around those dates:

  • Imaginarium Theater, season open since October 1: required elements Hydro, Cryo and Anemo, so she is eligible.
  • Spiral Abyss, October 16: Floor 11 gives all party members a 60% Cryo DMG Bonus and Floor 12's second half a 75% Cryo DMG Bonus. Her parfaits are Cryo DMG, so both reach them.
  • Imaginarium Theater, November 1: required elements Hydro, Electro and Geo, with Qiqi, Odette, Vesna and Jahoda as Special Guest Stars. Escoffier is neither, so she cannot enter that season, and it opens two days before her banner closes.

How those modes pay out is in our Spiral Abyss guide and Imaginarium Theater guide; the rest of Version 7.1 is in our 7.1 release guide.

Quick Action Checklist

  • Escoffier's "La Chanson Cerise" runs from 18:00 server time on October 13, 2026 to 14:59 server time on November 3, alongside Skirk, with Symphonist of Scents on the weapon banner.
  • Her 55% Hydro and Cryo RES shred is a 4th Ascension Passive, so it switches on at Ascension Phase 4 (level 60); after that it depends only on having 4 Hydro or Cryo party members. No stat on her changes it.
  • The shred is applied by her Skill as well as her Burst, and the 20-second Mek outlasts the 15-second Skill cooldown. Keep the Skill on cooldown; the Burst is for healing and one big hit.
  • Level the Elemental Skill first: at level 10 each Frosty Parfait is 216%, and at the one-per-second rate the Bilibili wiki records, a Mek fires about 3,240% per cast against 1,067.04% for the Burst. Burst second if you rely on her healing; Normal Attack last.
  • Her own Skill pays 7.2 to 12 Energy toward a 60-cost Burst. Size Energy Recharge to how often your team needs her heal.
  • Farm Atocpan's Overseer Device for Secret Source Airflow Accumulator, Shivada Jade from another normal boss (her own pays Varunada Lazurite), Beryl Conch in Fontaine, Justice books on Tuesday, Friday and Sunday, and 18 Eroded Horn from Stone Stele Records.
  • Symphonist of Scents is built for her: off-field ATK plus a party ATK buff when she heals. Favonius Lance cannot proc while she is off-field; "The Catch" is the free Energy Recharge stick.
  • Wear 4-piece Golden Troupe — up to 70% Elemental Skill DMG Bonus while she is off-field — with ATK%, Cryo DMG% and a CRIT Circlet.
  • C2 buffs your on-field Cryo character by 240% of her ATK five times per Skill; C6 adds six 500% parfaits per Mek.

Frequently Asked Questions

What talent should you level first for Escoffier in Genshin Impact?
Level Escoffier's Elemental Skill, Low-Temperature Cooking, first. It scales the cast hit, the Surging Blade and every Frosty Parfait her Cooking Mek fires over its 20-second duration, 216% each at talent level 10. The Chinese Genshin wiki on Bilibili records one parfait per second, which puts a Mek at about 3,240% per 15-second cast against 1,067.04% for one Elemental Burst. Level the Burst second if you rely on her party heal, which grows to 309.66% ATK + 2,373 at level 10, and Normal Attack last.
How much Energy Recharge does Escoffier need?
Escoffier's Elemental Burst costs 60 Energy, and her own Elemental Skill makes 4 Cryo particles, worth 12 Energy if she is on the field when they land or 7.2 if she is off-field in a four-character party at 100% Energy Recharge. Her Hydro and Cryo RES shred is applied by her Skill as well as her Burst, so a late Burst delays her healing and one big hit, not the shred. Size her Energy Recharge to how often your team needs her Burst heal, testing against real enemies rather than the training dummy, which drops nothing.
What is Escoffier's best weapon in Genshin Impact?
Escoffier's signature weapon is Symphonist of Scents, a 5-star polearm with 608 base ATK and a 66.2% CRIT DMG secondary stat. At refinement 1 it grants 12% ATK, a further 12% while she is off-field, and 32% ATK for 3 seconds to her and every character she heals. Favonius Lance adds 30.6% Energy Recharge but its passive cannot trigger while she is off-field, and the free "The Catch" from the Inazuma Fishing Association carries 45.9% Energy Recharge.
What artifacts should Escoffier use?
Four-piece Golden Troupe, from the Denouement of Sin domain in Fontaine's Belleau Region. Its 2-piece adds 20% Elemental Skill DMG and its 4-piece adds 25% more, plus another 25% while the wearer is off-field, and Escoffier's Frosty Parfaits are Elemental Skill DMG fired from the bench. Use an ATK% Sands, a Cryo DMG Goblet and a CRIT Rate or CRIT DMG Circlet. Blizzard Strayer, Noblesse Oblige and Song of Days Past are team-dependent alternatives.
What materials does Escoffier need to ascend?
Escoffier needs 46 Secret Source Airflow Accumulator from the Secret Source Automaton: Overseer Device in Atocpan, Natlan; 1 Sliver, 9 Fragments, 9 Chunks and 6 Gemstones of Shivada Jade (her own boss drops Varunada Lazurite instead); 168 Beryl Conch from Fontaine; and Clockwork Meka gears. Her talents use Teachings, Guide and Philosophies of Justice from Pale Forgotten Glory on Tuesday, Friday and Sunday, plus 18 Eroded Horn from the Lord of Eroded Primal Fire. Full ascension and three talents to level 10 cost 5,377,500 Mora.
When does Escoffier rerun in Genshin Impact 7.1?
Escoffier's Event Wish, La Chanson Cerise, runs in Version 7.1 Phase II from 18:00 server time on October 13, 2026 to 14:59 server time on November 3, 2026, alongside Skirk's Void Star's Advent. The boosted 4-stars are Dahlia, Candace and Mika, and her signature polearm Symphonist of Scents shares the Epitome Invocation weapon banner with Azurelight over the same dates.
